What keepsake do you buy?

We buy one of the etched glass picture frames and a new Christmas ornament for our tree every year. We also buy a fun picture frame one with the characters on it, to display a picture from the trip. We will pick up a pin from the resort we are staying at if we've not stayed there before. All these things get us through until our next trip :tink:

Like others here, always a Christmas ornament or two. Unfortunately, after the last trip, DH said we had too many WDW coffee mugs (can you imagine "too many"?) so now I can't buy any more. Oh, and as a tea drinker, I always go to the Twinings store and buy new tea to try. Since I can't buy any more coffee mugs, I'm trying to sneak a few tea cups past DH.

Myself personally, I will only buy things that will last a long time. So I rarely buy clothing. That said I did buy a ball cap since I needed one. For myself, I bought a single serving Alice in Wonderland tea set, that includes cup, saucer and tea pot, since I love my morning tea. Also, I've always been an AIW fan since I was in the musical as a child.

For the children, we've let them pick out some toys - four of the characters from Toy Story. And I will hold onto them for their children some day as a keepsake - sentiment right straight from the movie ;)

I also want to pick up a figurine of some sort for our home.

I always get something fun from the World Showcase for my desk. Next time I hope to get a troll!

Sorry to hijack this thread a little, but are those the little cats you can buy in Japan? I think each one (each color) represents something different-love, wealth, etc. Someone told me about them, and I'm going to check them out on my next trip and maybe start collecting those.

Ornaments with kids names and trip year.
magnets (this year haunted mansion in May and small wooden picture frame in June)
Love mugs and cups. In May I got a Bay Lake Tower water bottle (home resort) that I love but my favorite is the Chip teacup mug my dd got Monday. The girl at the counter in DTD said we came at a good time. The mugs sell out in days!
I also always buy a pair of pajamas, obsessed with them.
The last few years an Alex and Ani too

I have a beach towel from each trip and pins. My beach towels get use on a regular basis as opposed to my pins which I'm still not sure what to do with. I like the idea of getting a Christmas ornament. It's practical but would last longer than my beach towels.

We always get a Xmas ornament with the year on it, matching t shirts, memory maker, & magnets. A couple years ago we bought beautiful prints and framed them - an old map of Disney world, ride posters etc.

I always end up getting a coffee mug or two, something tiki related (mug, bowl, print), and/or something more retro, this past trip that ended up being the collection of attraction posters, love them!

I've seen those attraction posters on the disney store website and love them! Just wondering where you found them in the parks?

Every trip finds me picking something different up. Sometimes its a piece of art, a mug or christmas ornament. But I will admit lately I've got sucked into fads. I now have a shadow box full of pins and an army of vinylmations. It really depends on what catches my eye on a trip or how much I'm willing to spend.

Yes, @Simba's Mom - they are the cats, frogs, owls, etc., that you get in Japan, and you're right....they're made in China! I'm so disappointed (but not surprised). o_O
And they do represent different things.

I'm sure the Eiffel Tower isn't made in France, either. I do wish they would sell things that are made in the representing countries, but that's the way of the world, I guess.

We always collected pressed pennies. When we get home I put our collection in a shadowbox along with a picture from that trip. I love to include a special momento with a picture from each vacation we take.

Mugs!! We have mugs from all our trips, both travel and regular mugs. I'm a Disney mug addict!!

My mom collects magnets from her own travels and requested that family members send her magnets from theirs, so that's got me in the habit of looking for them wherever I go. I usually pick up one for her and one for me nowadays, though on this trip she'll be there to pick out her own. For places like Disney World we prefer the dated ones.

I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff I'll pick up while I'm there, but I'm with the user who mentioned focusing on items that will be of use at home. I need a new travel mug so I'll be on the lookout for that, but other than that I'm going to tend toward things I can either wear or hang on my wall.
