Amanda & Josh's Wishes Wedding - 05.04.15 - SBP/Attic/UK Lochside - The End (Complete)

For some reason, I wasn't getting updates, but your reception was lovely! I loved your cake and the cupcakes, they were so cute!

Even if I weren't a big WDW fan, I think your wedding was absolutely the lovliest wedding I've ever seen.
Wow! Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Thanks! :) I think our cake/cupcakes were two of my favorite things from the wedding... of course, I really love cake. :lmao:

Day 4, Wedding Day! Part Twelve: Dessert Party, Part 2 & Shots Around UK

The fireworks went off, and I honestly don't remember even hearing the music playing until the slower part with the globe. I was too focused on following directions on what Josh and I were told to do. Haha. Let's start with the only part of the show that we got to watch. :)

I think this might be my favorite picture from the wedding, period. (The shot above is also one of my favorites.) A firework silhouette is also the one and only specific shot I requested. :)

Before we knew it, the fireworks were over and it was time to start saying goodbye to our guests. Many of them were leaving the next day, including my family. David and Kristina told us that the media guides said we were allowed to shoot for a bit in the UK pavilion, so I was very happy about that. I'm also happy that one of our guests thought to take this shot before we left (taken with a phone camera obviously, but oh well).

Group shot of friends!

I made plans with my family to have them drop off my veil whenever we got back to the room, but I needed to be mindful that Magical Express was picking them up at 3:30 the next morning. We said our goodbyes to everyone else and they were all escorted back to the IG while we headed through the UK.

I have to say, walking through an empty pavilion was really cool… and I could definitely get used to it. Haha. (Spoiler alert: we get to drive down Main Street on Wednesday, so there were quite a few awesome moments that week!) I love all of these shots, so I'm glad that we were able to take them. Funny story: Kristina is crouching behind us in one of these for light, but I can't even remember or tell which one anymore. I guess she was right when she told us that no one would ever realize she was there. :)

This is my favorite of the UK pictures. :)

After a bit, we got the hint from the guides that it was time to be on our way. We all walked back through the IG toward the Boardwalk. Josh and I said our goodbyes to David, Kristina, and Michael which made me a little sad. Haha. It was just another sign that our wedding day was over. When Josh and I got back to our room, the first thing we did was change clothes. I also emailed Diane and thanked her for helping us have such a wonderful day! Poor Josh realized that he left his overnight bag at his mom's studio at the Beach Club, so he had to walk all the way back over there to get it. He said that his feet were totally dead by the time we got in bed.

My family brought down my veil and we said our goodbyes. I think they all wished they could have stayed longer, but school was still going on at that point for my nephew (and sister, who is a teacher). I have to admit, it was almost midnight (21 hours after I had woken for hair and makeup), but I didn't want to go to sleep. That would officially mean that our wedding day was really, truly over. Eventually, I crashed a little after midnight… after trying my best to wash off all of the makeup from the day! I should have just showered (you’ll see why at breakfast the next day, haha), but I was too tired for that.

I knew at least that I would get to wear my dress again for our park pictures on Wednesday, so that helped ease the post-wedding blues just a little bit. We had a breakfast scheduled the next morning at Cape May, so I had to set an alarm before we fell asleep.

So… that's our wedding day. After 16 months of planning and anticipation, it felt like it went by in a blur. The day itself was wonderful, without any major hitches. I don't think I would change a thing (other than making sure I ate!). I've been dragging my heels a bit to finish this entry because I'm sad to see the day (kind of) end again. But it has been wonderful sharing the details of our planning and chronicling our wedding on here, while also getting to read about other great couples and their own weddings. Once we receive our final wedding video, I will post it here as well as vendor reviews. Stick with me in the meantime because I still have our Magic Kingdom/Epcot shoot and honeymoon TR to share. :)

I thought all your mentioning of your veil and your family leaving would mean they forgot to give it back!! Glad that didn't happen.

Your fireworks pictures are simply lovely, and truly the perfect end to the day. I love that you got to take a few photos in the UK (I must admit I was looking for Kristina, but I can't find her either!)

I'm so so so glad you're going to chronicle your honeymoon (and your in-park shoots!), because I'm not ready for your story to be done yet! It's been lovely to read about you and Josh :)

OMG!!! I have been waiting for your next update. lol Wow!!! It looks beautiful. I hope I can get some pictures after the fireworks are over and I'm glad you talked about asking for the fireworks silhouette picture. I have to ask for that. So excited to hear the rest!!!

Your fireworks shots are fantastic! I always love seeing those :lovestruc

I love your shots in the UK pavilion! Isn't walking through an empty park awesome? Every time I go to work, I wonder if I'm going to run into a couple doing a wedding shoot, but it never happens :lmao: I start way too early.

Awww everything looks so amazing!!! I love those firework pictures so breathtaking but it is so true you plan a wedding for 1+ years and then that one day zooms by and its all over but your wedding was so amazing! I can't wait to hear all about your Honeymoon! :goodvibes

NO NO NO NO NO IT CAN'T BE OVER ALREADY!!!!

I love the fireworks shots. and Yay for UK pics too!!

I showed my bff a picture of your cake & we were both like WOW! That's awesome! LOL Love seeing all your little details falling into place.
I can't wait to see your park pics!!

It felt more dramatic in the moment I guess, because I was stressed about making them wait up too late for me! Haha. :) And I'm not ready for the TR to be over yet, either. :(

You're using Trinity, right? I think that might be part of why we got to shoot some after the fireworks. David and Kristina knew all the guides working that night because they do so many Disney weddings. :) I'm sure crowd level may have played a part as well.

Thank you! :) Walking through an empty park is awesome! It was a little weird (but cool) going backstage, though.

:goodvibes Thanks! I need to hurry up and get my honeymoon TR done because I'm already forgetting some of the little details, haha.

 I know... I can't believe the wedding day is over! But at least I still have the rest to share. I'll really be sad when the whole TR is finished!

No, I'm continuing with Disney for the whole day, so hopefully they will know the guides too. . .lol Also, I'm trying to figure out if we are going to keep the Mimosas and Champagne bar. How did you like them (Me and my DF actually do not drink so it's not for us lol) and were they a big hit?

I wish I could take pictures of DHS empty at night without getting termed. It's really kind of creepy. But I hear you on backstage being weird.

I had to join just so I could tell you how perfect your wedding looks and what a stunning bride you are! I am in the process of planning my December wedding at SBP and the Attic and love following your story! I noticed you had an IPod set up at the Attic and that has been a big question for my fiancé and I. In your opinion, was it an inconvenience to worry about having someone or yourselves control it or was it fairly smooth to manage?

Thank you so much!! :) SBP and the Attic are such beautiful spaces, and December is just a magical time at WDW. Your wedding is going to be gorgeous! At least for us, the iPod wasn't an inconvenience. Our planner was actually the one who controlled it most of the time, but I'm sure that's not standard across the board. There was only one hiccup: the volume had been turned down completely for a Dapper Dans set and didn't get readjusted for our first dance song, so most of the first verse was cut off for it. Not a huge deal, and if I cared that much, I could have asked her to restart it from the beginning. Most of the time we just had background music, but I would say the only time it was really required was for the traditional dances and for Donald/Daisy. Overall, it was smooth and easy. We made multiple VERY specific playlists (titles like Cocktail Hour, Food Service, Ducks, etc.) and I think that helped.

Your photos from sunset are absolutely beautiful! Did you enjoy the UK pavilion for viewing the fireworks? I always think that one would be convenient for exiting back through the international gateway, although it is amazing that you were able to take photos in an empty pavilion! How fun!

We had mimosas, sangria, and wine at our bar. The mimosas and sangria were HUGE hits. I would definitely recommend keeping the mimosas if your budget allows. My DH doesn't drink either, but almost everyone else had at least one or two drinks. We did our bar BOC and ended up getting over $1000 back from the bar alone.

Thank you so much! :) The UK pavilion was an AMAZING spot for viewing the fireworks. I think the view there is one of the very best. It was also nice being able to walk to and from without having backstage transportation since we were staying at the BW. :)

Day 5: Breakfast (Too Early) and MK with MIL

Ambitiously, I scheduled a breakfast at Cape May for 9:30. Josh and I are early risers, and sleeping until 7 is generally sleeping in for us. I think I severely underestimated how tired we would be after the wedding. The alarm went off at 7:30, but I didn't get myself out of bed until probably 8:55. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to shower and dry my hair at that point, so I washed my face, threw on clothes, and we did a zombie walk to the Beach Club. That is why I am not sharing many pictures from the breakfast… because frankly, I look disgusting. Haha.

I never remember to take pictures of food at buffets. Sorry! But suffice it to say, we adequately stuffed our faces full of eggs, Mickey waffles, pineapple, and breakfast potatoes. Cape May is one of my favorite breakfast buffets we've tried (currently second only to Tusker House). We were about to burst when our waitress brought out a celebration cupcake, with Goofy no less.

I don't think Goofy liked being close to lit candles. LOL

This was our only free DESSERT (but not only free goodies :)) of the honeymoon (probably because we were on the dining plan), but it was yummy. Funfetti cake with chocolate frosting. We were full, but not too full to eat it, I guess. LOL

We waddled back over to the Boardwalk. Initially, we discussed doing Typhoon Lagoon this day, but napping sounded more appealing. We were going to MK with Josh's mom later that evening, so we wouldn't have been able to spend much time there anyway. Certainly not enough to justify buying a ticket. We took a nap before I woke up, showered, and made myself look/feel human again. LOL

The plan that evening was to meet Josh's mom at the Beach Club and head to MK together. We had dinner reservations at Be Our Guest and had planned to stay in the park afterward. As we were making our way down Main Street, Beaute called me to confirm the room number for the park pictures. That made me realize that we should probably confirm our pickup time with Disney Photography, so I had Josh call them. We were going to be picked up at around 7 am in the lobby and our photographer was going to be Amanda.

We made our way to BOG and checked in for our reservation. We had to wait several minutes, but were eventually escorted to our table in the West Wing (my least favorite room, I think. Too dark and noisy.) Our food was pretty good, but I much prefer the vegetarian option at lunch. I think the bread is my favorite part about dinner. :p

I ordered a glass of moscato. I preferred it to the wine I had at the Grand (but in fairness, the wine I tried there was much dryer than I like), but overall it was just average.

My vegetarian ratatouille. I think it's just okay.

Josh's steak. He really liked it.

My MIL ordered the pork. She said she enjoyed it.

Josh and I each got the strawberry cupcake, and he shared with his mom.

We had FP for Haunted Mansion and the Mine Train, and then we did PhilharMagic. Somehow, that was the first time I had done it. Needless to say, I LOVED it!! We stopped in the gift shop on the way out, and I was so happy to see all the Donald stuff.

I irrationally think I need this hat. I didn't end up getting it (this time :P), but my MIL did buy each of us a Donald t-shirt. :)

We finished the night with Small World and Pooh. I had to be awake at 3 am the next day for Beaute, so we started heading toward the exit. We had to walk the back way out because the Electrical Parade was happening as we left. The three of us parted ways at the bus stops, and we soon headed back to the BW. Thankfully, we were first in line for the bus. Once we got back to the room, I set the alarm for 3 (yuck), and we quickly fell asleep. I was pretty anxious for our MK/Epcot shoot tomorrow!

I really enjoyed your dessert party updates. Mine is in October and I can hardly wait. We are UK pubside. The nacho bar was a great idea. I went with cheese, meat, fruit and crackers--not nearly as exciting. They display everything so beautifully. Excellent pics. Really takes me there.

I love how much you guys love Donald. The duck never gets enough love IMO!! We're early risers too but you're a real trooper for getting up for an early breakfast! That celebration cupcake is so cute, it looks fresher than a lot of the ones you normally see.

I feel like as a vegetarian if you ever have dinner at BOG again, you should make a meal out of sides and cupcakes :lmao:Those fries & potato tart thingy look amazing! I've been dying to try the strawberry cupcake but it'll have to wait till another trip for us.

Well, cheese and fruit are super exciting to me! :lmao: We had cheese at our cocktail hour, or else I would have had it at the DP. Both of the UK locations are great for seeing the fireworks. It's an amazing experience!

That was the first celebration cupcake I had seen that was funfetti cake! That's part of why we ate it even though we were full... or at least, that's what I'm telling myself. ;) I wonder if they would let me do that at BOG. Haha. The fries at BOG are great! I always steal a few of Josh's. :) We've only tried the strawberry cupcake and the one with the gray stuff... but (I'm in the minority here) I don't like the gray stuff all that much.
