Gopro advice

Im looking to buy a go pro For my 16 year old mainly to use underwater . she isn't into skate bording or stuff like that.

What one is better. I want best orice for what she needs

If price isn't an option I would just get the new one (hero 4). From what I understand it's the first one that has a touch screen which I think is really nice. I rented one a couple weeks ago for our vacation and trying to toggle through the menus using the buttons was a little frustrating. Big fan of the touch screen

If you're thinking about underwater, also check out a dedicated underwater camera like the Nikon AW130 or Fuji XP80 or similar. They bring along zoom lenses, are rectilinear, and are excellent above water as well; generally they're just much more flexible overall.

I own the GoPro Hero 4 Silver [as well as a few of Sony's Action Cams]. For water fun and use, I use the GoPro, simply because I can see what the camera sees via an attached screen. With the Sony, i would need an additional accessory to do that [live view remote, LCD housing or a phone, but none can be used under the water]. I agree with the above, if price is not an option, GoPro is the way to go. They come with a few different backs...I believe one is a waterproof touch screen, which is just a thin plastic film over the screen area. the other is a hard plastic back: basically you cant use the touchscreen, but you are still able to easily start and stop recording. Using this one also allow you to dive deeper [forgive me but i forget how deep, something like 13 feet maybe?
