Tusker House
Up next was breakfast at Tusker House
I know most of you have been to Disney World multiple times but for a newbie like us...we did not realize how long it takes to get to Animal Kingdom. We were about 15 minutes late. I've realized that these morning breakfasts aren't for us. We were late for both of them however, the cast members didn't seem to mind and the seating time was pretty short.
We were seated deep in the corner of one of the rooms and it would have been a wait for characters so we headed out to get our food first. Before we left though, we placed in an order for the Jungle Juice and DH also got some hot chocolate.
We filled up our plates and returned. I'm not sure if we were just gone for too long although I don't think we were but the hot chocolate wasn't very hot at all. It was also served in one of these carry out cups instead of actual mugs like we had gotten from Crystal Palace. You can see it in the background behind the plates. The Jungle Juice was also quite sweet. From what I understand it's made from orange, passion fruit, and guava juices. They really need to exchange either the passion fruit or guava for something less sweet perhaps pineapple or even some mango nectar because damn. For every sip of juice we also had a sip of water.
This was my plate. Let's see. I picked up a Mickey Waffle, croissant, eggs, sausage, biscuit, and cheese blintz. There's also a donut hole, cornbread, and some bobotie underneath there somewhere.
DH's plate was a bit different.
He had eggs, bacon, a croissant, a cinnamon roll, donut holes, and tater tots.
Let's start off by saying this is the ONLY breakfast place that served tater tots. DH really stocked up here. He had no complaints about his food and really loved the donut holes. I can agree, my lone donut hole was awesome but I had so much other food I didn't have any room for anything extra. The cornbread really wasn't to my liking as I didn't like the peppers and seasonings that it was baked with. I also really tried to like the bobotie but I found it to be too seasoned for breakfast. The cheese blintz I would have liked if I had taken some of the fruit sauce that went with it. A lady suggested it but I had so much stuff on my plate that I didn't want to ruin it with fruit compote getting on something else.
I found the character interaction to be better than at Crystal Palace. It had some nice ladies seated next to us and they really put on a show for them. First up was Mickey. I found it hilarious that we were almost the same height. I am SHORT..like 5 ft.
DH and I both wore our Kingdom Heart shirts. If you're not familiar with it, it's a video game that Disney teamed up with a Japanese company (Square Soft) that contains both Disney and Square Soft characters. So we had both Mickey, Donald, and Goofy on our shirts. Mickey didn't seem to catch it though.
Goofy was next.
He caught on to our shirts and we both got a thumbs-up. Goofy was super tall in comparison to Mickey. You can see him in the background there with the other table. We got both characters back to back. It was a short wait for Donald.
After this things started to get a little rough. We're not big fans of Daisy and wanted to get out to see the park but our waitress was no where to be found. I guess she assumed that we wanted to wait for her to come over to our table, but Daisy had just entered into the dining section we were in and it would have been a long wait. Unfortunately, we never saw her..and we were forced to wait for Daisy to come back around before our waitress showed up again. By then DH was upset and didn't even get a pictures with Daisy because he just wanted to get out. We're pretty easy going and I refuse to track down someone to get my check.
Me and Daisy
Our bill was $74.88.
For BREAKFAST. I mean, I love the characters but this was almost our entire food budget for our day in Hollywood Studios. Definitely a hard pill to swallow since we were stuck waiting for so long after our meal.
