We've got Deluxe APs but we're out of DVC points! A year of Disneyland trips- updated 6/27!

Dinner suggestions on San Diego? You can't go wrong with Mexican at Olde Town San Diego. There are quite a few choices of restaurants there and we really like having dinner there.

Sorry to hear that Joshua won't be going but that is neat that he is going to play for a very competitive team. I can understand his situation where he wants to play at a high level and workout a lot to get better.

You have a good plan during your trip. I will be down there this week from July 1st to July 6th for Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. When Anime Expo is over on Sunday, I might go to the DLR that night in order to see DF & PtN (if I have time) again and get some nighttime shots. I will be there on Monday before I head on home to NorCal. There will be one day where I will get to meet you in person and maybe one of these days.

Love your plan. Sorry Joshua won't be able to go but congrats to him on the new team! Sounds like a huge accomplishment!

Your plans sound hectic but fun. We're having dinner out at the park Sunday night, I'm sure you guys will be tired after that drive. What beach are you going to on Monday?

I'd love to join you at the park Tuesday, but with band that night it would be tough. We leave Wednesday for Cambria and I don't want to arrive at 9PM so we need to get on the road by noon. That said, I need to get packing!

Get packing girl!!! :hyper:

Not sure about what beach but I am thinking either Seal or Huntington. We are creatures of habit. The girls love Huntington so most likely there. You thinking of meeting us?

Kayla only has a two day hopper otherwise we would go into the park Sunday. We should arrive by 4. I told the girls about the sunset today and they said DTD. :lmao: My job is done as a parent. LOL! I'm good with either; I'll let them decide.

I was thinking Mexican too. Can you recall any names? I am wanting to make a reservation due to ComiCon. :scared: I can't imagine how crazy crowded it's going to be.

I can't believe I will miss you by a day! I'll message you my cell and maybe we can figure something out Monday morning. We'll be in Cypress so not far from Anaheim.

Joshua is very dedicated to his sport. He is pretty mature for a 14 y/o. He's able to see long term.....even better than I can. ;)

You know my mom guilt is kciking in. I hate leaving him behind or at least feeling I am leaving him behind....

I am wanting to make a reservation due to ComiCon. :scared: I can't imagine how crazy crowded it's going to be.
I almost went to Comic-Con International this year as a vendor but I decided it was not worth the extra money to get a table and hotel rates will be very high. But it is okay just to do Anime Expo the week before Comic Con. It would have make sense to do Comic Con since I was down in SoCal and don't have to go back up NorCal and come back.

Same here. Just by one day when I leave you will be going to the DLR the next day. That will be nice if we can figure something out that Monday. I can give you my info as well. I was thinking of going to Super Mex or California Fish Grill for lunch if I don't plan on eating at the UVA Bar and Cafe that Monday.

Another thing I might want to add that you and the girls might consider seeing at DL. I believe you all have AP's. If so, I would consider going to DL and get wristbands for seeing "Wednesdays with Walt" at the Opera House at Town Square or Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln later during the day around 5pm to 8pm depends on what the show time is. Here is the link which will tell you all about it. Wednesdays with Walt. I was able to see "Backstage Party" and wanted to see those shows. While you are there and you have nothing plan that night, this would be a nice time to go to the Opera House and see some classic shows. It says on July 8th will be "A Progress Report" & "A Further Report on Disneyland".

Fun plans!!! Josh is so responsible, he's going to go big places, I have a feeling.

Two nights at the VGC :cloud9:

What is this, you're missing the One Direction concert to go hang out with your friends??? :)

and the girls can help you drive, that's fantastic.

Get packing girl!!! :hyper:

After I finish the music for rehearsal tonight....do the dishes....take out the trash....:faint:

Not sure about what beach but I am thinking either Seal or Huntington. We are creatures of habit. The girls love Huntington so most likely there. You thinking of meeting us?

Not now since I realized we don't have band next week and we can meet you at the park!

Text me. We have a dinner reservation at 7:15PM.

I was thinking Mexican too. Can you recall any names? I am wanting to make a reservation due to ComiCon. :scared: I can't imagine how crazy crowded it's going to be.

I'm thinking we used to go to the Casa de Reyes, or the Old Town Cafe and Cantina, but honestly I only remember how to get there once we're driving and parking. I wouldn't even worry about people from ComiCon being up at Old Town. The programs go until 10PM or later, I checked the schedule and things are still starting at 8PM. They're all going to be down by the Convention Center and Old Town is up near Mission Valley where Qualcomm stadium is located, kind of like worrying that Venice Beach will be impacted by something at the LA Convention Center.

That looks like a great set of plans. What a shame that Joshua won't come, but congratulations to him for making the new team. As to Mexican food in San Diego, we really love Cafe Coyote in Old Town.

Have you been to Comic Con? My Chloe is dying to go. It'll be in SLC in September.

This looks amazing! The girls' friend doesn't have an AP but we could do this in August. Thank you for your links and taking the time to post them and explain. :)

Fun plans!!! Josh is so responsible, he's going to go big places, I have a feeling.

Isn't he great?! :lovestruc I wonder if I am biased though? :lmao: He is so excited to see you in October.

Two nights at the VGC :cloud9:

I am super stoked. Michael is sad he'll miss it though. :(

::yes:: Gabby can help. Chloe is just starting to learn on the Utah freeways... ;)

I have never been to a 1D concert and truth be told I really like them...osmosis or something. LOL! Their tickets are just so damn $$$. :faint:

I text you and :woohoo: for getting to meet up! Where are you ladies having dinner?

:thanks: for the food recommendations. I haven't been to San Diego since before we had Joshua. Little Italy was the rage back then.

Most excellent Corinna; menu looks great AND it's Teqila Thursday. Margaritas are $1!!!! party: Both girlfriends I'll be having dinner with are Mormon/LDS so looks like I'll have a DD. ;) I made a reservation.

I have been to Comic Con International in San Diego. The one you are takin about is Wizard World Comic Con which isn't associated with the SD Comic Con. That show goes around the country. I did a show a couple of weeks ago in Sac.

I am thinking of leaving SoCal around 1pm to 2pm before traffic in SoCal gets ugly. It got ugly when I left DLR today after 2pm and got caught in LA traffic to the Los Angeles Convention Center to set up for Anime Expo. Insight have lunch at UVA on Monday if I don't want Super Mex or California Fish Grill.

Your welcome. I looked on the site when it goes and it finishes in late July. So this will be a good time to go see it. But I understand your situation.

Any help is good, you have a long drive right? I know you've told me before but I'm spacing.

I have never been to a 1D concert and truth be told I really like them...osmosis or something. LOL! Their tickets are just so damn $$$. :faint:

I like them too  not all of their songs, but most of them.

What did you do at the Comic Con?

Traffic can be crazy leaving So Cal. :crazy2: I don't blame you for trying to beat it. Monday will be our beach day. I'll keep in touch.

We're eating at an out of the way little frequented place. Not a lot of action. You've eaten there before.

Gotcha. Want to meet up before or after? We will be gettiong up about 5 am that day to head over to the GCV and check in and make the 7 am EMH. I am sure we'll be at the pool by 1:00. What time are you ladies heading over?

Its a decent drive; 10-12 hours depending on traffic. I'll most likely drive all of it. ;) The speed limit hits 80 in some places and I am not comfortable with the girls driving that fast.....at least with me in the car. :lmao:

Just went as an attendee. That was a few years ago and I didn't vendor that event. There is so much to do where there are people asking attendees if they could buy their badge. Just shows you that this is a show where people want to get in and it sells out quickly.

Never. Traffic is ugly and this is why the traffic in NorCal during rush hour is nothing. I don't know if I can go sane with all the traffic here in SoCal. Sounds good.

I didn't think you were going into the parks on Sunday and you were staying off site.

Or are you confusing this day with Tuesday? You'll be at the pool by 1:00? I thought we were talking about lunch at Plaza Inn....when were you thinking of doing that? We should text and work this stuff out.

Did you want to see the apartment at all? They are painting this week and doing flooring next week. Monday would probably be the day, but if you're going to Huntington that would be out of the way.

So Cal traffic is horrible but No Utah traffic isn't much better. Utahans don't understand the whole carpool lane thing and the meaning behind the double white line. :crazy2:

An attendee is sort of an usher or info person? Chloe has been begging to go. I better look into the SLC show soon.

Text. Good. I'm nuts. :lmao: I think I have too much on my mind so once new info filters in, I purge the old.

::yes:: Apartment! When I told Gabby she flipped! :hyper: We leave Sunday at 5 am and I haven't packed either. I work all day today and have services tonight at 7. Chloe wants purple in her hair after that. Looks like it's going to be a late night.

That sounds like a great deal. Their Margaritas are great and usually pretty potent.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Don't forget to have some of there tortillas. They make them fresh at a little "show kitchen' outside and they are to die for.

Corinna

I am meeting two of my friends from Utah there and the SIL of one of them said that Cafe Coyote is her all-time favorite; she lives in San Diego. :woohoo: At first she suggested some Rockin' Lobster Place and while I am sure the food is good, I much prefer authentic Mexican food. This place is a chain. My friends are so easy going, they're just happy someone is doing the legwork. LOL! Love homemade tortillas, especially corn. When I was a kid there was a restaurant in So Cal called Sonora Inn and they made the best homemade corn tortillas. I would add a little melted butter, a little salt, roll them up, and eat them for dinner when I'd go out with my folks. :cloud9:

That is bad. I seen that in Sac too with people driving in the carpool lane.

i don't know about usher or info person. I know that it means a person who attends a conference, meeting, event, etc. I was looking at Wizard World Comic Con and I dint see it on the list. But after searching the one you mentioned, I got the Salt Lake Comic Con which is not associated with Wizard World Comic Con. It is one of those small cons that are local ones in your city. It is similar to the one here in Sac called Sac Con. If Chloe wants to go to that show, it would be worth it since you can possibly see some celebrities from the TV shows, comics, etc.

Trip was fabulous and I'll post pics soon.

Started my *new* job and it's been pretty busy. With 100% pt care, my internet time has dramatically decreased and I have lots of catching up to do.

Gabby moves in 12 days.

I'll be back with an update soon. :grouphug:
