Aulani Restaurants - Reservations Required?

DH & I are heading to Aulani at the end of October and are wondering how busy the resort is at that time and if reservations are required in the restaurants.

We have made a couple of reservations, one for brunch and one at dinner at Ama Ama, but we are hoping to play it by ear and do walk up. Is this possible?

Not sure about October but we were ther at the end of August / early September. We were there over Labour Day weekend which was busy but the place cleared the day after Labour Day. That week we had 2 breakfasts and one lunch at Ama Ama's without reservations. I don 't even remember having to wait. The morning of I did look online at the reservation site to see if it was full though. I did have a dinner reservation but cancelled it. For the character breakfast, we had reservations.

I went two months ago and had no problem getting in. For dinners, I tried to call concierge a day in advance to make sure we had a reservation...but I don't consider one day in advance truly a reservation. They're pretty easy going--got into breakfast no problem at Ama Ama, dinner at Ama Ama w/ a reservation (we wanted to see the sunset, so the most popular time), character buffet breakfast & character buffet dinner
