Best Mod - or AoA? - for a 1 year old?

Our family is planning a trip this Fall and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for the best mod for a toddler. He will be about 1 1/2 at the time and is already non-stop all the time (he actually started walking on his own at the AK Boneyard when we were there for a first birthday trip).

As a longtime commando-style tourer, I promised DH I would plan daily breaks back at the resort, so we are looking for the best mod (instead of our regular Value) for a toddler. Our little guy loves going in the pool and would also definitely enjoy a splash pad area.

The only mod we've stayed in is POR-Riverside, which we love, but I don't know how entertaining that would be for our son.

Or do you think a LM room at AoA would be our best bet?

AoA is great for little ones. The main (Big Blue) pool is fantastic and there is a splash pad area as well. If you stay in LM, there is a pool there as well, and another one in the Cars area. Personally, we love AoA's theming for the little kids - it's bright, full-on Disney theming. My DS got a real kick out of the sea gulls in the Nemo section that "talk" to you.

How exciting his first steps were at Disney's Animal Kingdom! What a happy memory!
I agree that I think a Little Mermaid room is a good bet.

The splash pad at AoA is so fun. Even my big kids loved playing there. There is even a nice pool bar at AoA too where you can enjoy an adult beverage out of the sun. The Big Blue is a big pool with a walk in zero depth entrance. You can find a quiet area of the pool to hold him or let him walk in. Just lettting him run and explore around the resort (no climbing on cars though!) will be an easy release for all 3 of you!

I like the CBR for small children. The pool and splash play area is quite nice and the rooms are a little larger, with queen beds for comfort. I would definitely stay in a preferred room there, however. Some rooms are a hike to the main hub.

AoA is nice, bright and cheerful so it is also a good choice, as PP'ers noted. LM rooms are a distance from the food court, etc however.

At one year old, your little one is likely to be happy wherever Mom and Dad are happy!

Enjoy!

I took my dd when she was 18 months old and the Nemo splash pad at AoA was probably the highlight of her trip! She had so much fun running around in that.

As long as you are ok with the long walk from the LM rooms to the lobby then I would totally pick AoA.

CBR. The kiddie splash area is great! Plus the queen beds for Mom and Dad is a good thing.

Pick the resort that the parents like the best. A child of that age will be happy just about anywhere. But if I had to make a choice, I'd pick a mod over a value any day. Bigger rooms. Bigger beds Lovely theming and ambiance. Quieter.

Of the mods, CBR would be my pick, too. Freshly refurbed, and has the best splash pad and pool. Preferred room is always nice to have, a standard room in Aruba or Jamaica is almost as good.

Thank you all so much for your replies! It will definitely be AoA or CBR. It sounds like my son would be happy at either, so I might leave it up to DH - whichever would make him happier (Me, I'm just happy to be anywhere at Disney :earsboy:).

Your child will love the AoA. My DD(she is 20) and I stayed there in December and loved this resort. The grounds with all the different characters and the pools were awesome. Have
a fun trip.:tigger:
