Shoes in MDR

On cruise casual nights and semi-formal nights--5 night cruise, are dressier flip flops allowed in MDR? My daughter does not want to wear sandals or flats and I wasn't sure if flips are okay. (Frankly, not interested in packing a lot of shoes either!) The only thing that comes up on search is no flips for Palo/Remy and I didn't want to make any assumptions.

I tend to dress up a bit for all dinners in the MDR but I frequently wear "dressy" flip flops with a wedge type heel and a sequined strap. I've never had any issues with them at all. I think when they say no flip flops, they mean more like the type you would wear in a public shower. I think dressy ones are perfect fine.

In reality the only "dress code" for the MDRs is "no swimwear or tank tops for dinner". Beyond that, you'll see all manner of dress (and shoes).

I wore leather flip flops in the MDRs and was fine.

I realize some hate this, but where I am from, people wear flip flops April-November. And yes, dress flip flops are a thing.

For those whom disapprove of what another is wearing on THEIR vacation need to come to an understanding that this is THEIR VACATION! Some dress up for work daily and need a break from high heels, full glam make-up or a suit and tie.
Disney wants you to be happy and to come back. Please wear your flip flops/sandals and enjoy your cruise.

Happy sailing!!!

This reminded me of a funny from our recent Celebrity Alaska cruise. Anyone familiar with the show Dual Survivor on Discovery and one of the guys on the show Cody Lundin? If you're familiar, you know Cody never wears any shoes. He was actually on our Alaska cruise and I'd see him carrying flip flops to wear when he went to the dining areas. Pretty funny.

That's funny! :rotfl:

Thanks for all the answers! My DD is so happy and so am I! :cool1:
