I know that's a possibility Bill. I'm going to call and give it a shot. Would help me prevent a split stay. I also have each missing day waitlisted individually. But I figure a one br std view at bwv is a long shot.DVC may not have a discounted cash room available, it all depends on the revenue accounting department and how they have allocated the available rooms.

I will. It's my own fault for missing those two nights. I was on holiday at Wilderness Lodge the morning my seven month window opened, enjoying coffee on the balcony, looking at the lake. Looking down at the time 8:12 and realized I was supposed to book that second week at BWV. Went online and they were gone. A couple days later, still on holiday, I was more on the ball and got those last five nights.Good luck, let us know how you make out.

I just talked to member services this morning about paying cash for our first night in a two bedroom villa and then using points for the remaining 6 day and staying in the same room. They said they can put in a request but it is not usually possible.
Good point. Standard view at BWV isn't usually available to be booked for cash, only points. Also BW view, same thing. The thing about BWV is standard view cash reservations are usually given pool/garden view. They don't book any other view on cash and members want the standard and boardwalk views.
Keep checking the website, don't just rely on waitlist. I was able to pull together a 5 night mid November 2013 BWV pool view studio about 2 months out by stalking the website.
How often defines stalking? The thing about BWV is standard view cash reservations are usually given pool/garden view. They don't book any other view on cash and members want the standard and boardwalk views.

It can't be guaranteed but as long as it's the same view type, one makes the request ahead of time, reminds the resort at check in and reminds them when you check in the second time (which you'll have to do) it's almost a certainty one can stay in the same room.I just talked to member services this morning about paying cash for our first night in a two bedroom villa and then using points for the remaining 6 day and staying in the same room. I think at least part of the problem, as mentioned earlier, is that the categories available on cash do not always match the ones available on points, and they don't always tell you that. So, for example, if you booked near HH on points, and your cash room did not have a designation, it may be that they only put cash bookings in non-HH rooms. Same for BWV -- if you book standard view on points, you may have to move for the cash room, which they always put in preferred view, not standard and not boardwalk view.We just had a ressie at OKW May...1 bed and I added one night cash. We checked in to find although I called many times to ensure link of ressies, etc. we were not in the same room. I paid full rack rate for the one night cash which stung at that point. OKW front desk actually offered to upgrade us to a 2 bedroom, no room change, but I lost the HH booking category. I did not need a 2 bedroom but appreciated the gesture. So although people will say you probably would not have to move, it happens more times than you think if room is not available because of booking categories. Standard views are very popular category for DVC.
Agreed, the reason appears to be the booking category. If one books OKW near HH, standard view at BWV/BLT, VGF, value at AKV and the like, a move is almost guaranteed. Like so many other things, one really has to investigate the nuances to avoid such issues.I think at least part of the problem, as mentioned earlier, is that the categories available on cash do not always match the ones available on points, and they don't always tell you that.
