Hooray finally, finally it's almost time. Our long awaited cruise is just days away. This is my families first time cruising, :boat: so hopefully every night I'll get to do a live and in living color reports.

The cast of characters are

me

My two sons and my niece

We booked a family suite with balcony for our trip, kinda of splurged since this was our first time.
We decided to arrive a day early into Ft Lauderdale to be on the safe side and not stress about missing the boat. .......

So tonight the packing begins....
Stay tuned.

Oasis is a great ship, you'll love it. It just may be tough to have Oasis be your first ship - you'll then think all other ships are so small  . My favorite area on Oasis was Central Park at night - just beautiful. We always fly down at least a day before any cruise, better safe than sorry. It's not like WDW or any other land-based destiantion. You just can't risk getting delayed and missing the boat. Fort Lauderdale is very nice anyway.

Hope you have a great trip! looking forward to the trip report and pics!

So looking forward to your postings! We leave in a few weeks with friends for our Oasis cruise. Are you doing Eastern or Western Caribbean? Have lots of fun and good luck packing!

Well, the adventure has begun, We decided to arrive a day early and really glad we did. Flight was delayed in Philly so it's nice not to have to worry about missing the boat. Weather is hot and humid. lol typical florida

Where here !!!

Man this ship is massive. short post, we just got our state room and are calling until dinner.

Thanks for doing a live report. Looking forward to following along. We'll be on Allure next year and these ships look awesome. Enjoy your cruise!

Looking forward to your report. We are going on the podcast cruise next year and we trying to get as much info as possible. Please tell us about your dining experiences and any extra charges.

Sorry about the delay guys. internet service can be a tricky thing.

So extra charges, lol. Lets see we purchased the soda package at 6.00 dollrs per person per day. that was a good deal as you get a refillable cup and two sodas can easily run 6.00 bucks.

Internet service is 15 bucks/ a day for 1 device IF you sign up for the week. you can get it per day but then its 29 bucks a day.

The other main spending has been on souvenirs. lol and unlike Disney these folks have adult toys and believe it or not the prices are good. for example the first sea day they had a sale on big name watches. citizen, tag heure, movado watches were 50-70% off. on duty and no tax. I treated myself to a 700$ movado for 189.00. the reason I knew it was a good sale because I was contemplating buying it for mothers day but couldn't pull the plug at 700 bucks

One, thing I dislike is that there is an 18% gratuity on EVERYTHING!! from a 3 dollar ice cream cone to signature meals.

We are in a jr family suite. very roomy. we got a balcony which is lovely. the couch pulls out into a full, my son does say its very hard on one side.

Thanks for the cabin photos Eliza! That ship does have some fabulous suites.

Still waiting for the photo of you trying out the Flowrider! :thumbsup2

I've never seen this category of cabin before - how does the bedding work? I see the main bed is made up into a queen instead of two singles. With 4 persons, no two of whom are a couple, where does everybody sleep? TIA :boat:

That is one BIG ship.
LOL. It's immense!!

So I really wanted to update daily but as I said internet service is slow at best.

The Oasis has various "zones" for guest to hang out. One of my favorites was the Central Park area. It's very much like a little park area. it's also where the signature restaurants are.
