Resort for multiple familes and Christmas decorations

I get the pleasure of planning a family trip to Disney in December 2016, which will include my DH and I and our 2 kids, sister and DH and 3 kids, and the in laws. We will most likely rent DVC points (usually how DH and I stay) and are trying to decide on a resort. We want to keep in cost effective, so I don't think grand Floridian will be in the picture. We are tossing around Boardwalk or Wilderness Lodge. Boardwalk would be the most cost effective and best for location, but wilderness lodge seems beautiful for Christmas. We will be going the second week in December. Has anyone been to boardwalk around Christmas? Are the decorations great there as well? We will be happy anywhere, but would love opinions!

Haven't been to Boardwalk at Christmas, but I have stayed at Wilderness Lodge at Christmas and it's gorgeous! The Christmas decor was one of the major reasons we booked there, and we were not disappointed!

Make sure you get your reservation early, like in January for December. Second week of December is the third most requested week of the year for DVC.

And it you are talking cost effective at BWV, you are probably thinking of trying for standard view. Standard view studios and 2 bedroom villas book at the 11 month window for December, so have everything lined up before the 11 month window opens!
