We are going to have a one day trip on January 1. We have rented an apartment in Paris for the week so we will be returning back apartment at night. My husband is heading home to the USA earlier than we are and there is a possibility that we could go back on January 3. Our children are 16 and 10

How to travel to Disneyland?
How long is the travel time?
What time should we leave Paris to be on property at opening?
How to buy tickets?
Can we do both parks on January 1 or will it be crazy?
Anything special going on in the parks that day?
I was looking at the Remy restaurant. Is there another reason that I should choose something different? Is there lunch service? If there is, what is the difference?
Does anything special happen at night?

Thank you for your help.

I would make sure that you are in the park about half an hour before rope drop. You can walk through main street and then wait at the rope op frontierland, that way big thunder mountain will be a walk on.
To avoid queues for tickets you could buy your entry tickets online. This is often cheaper as well.
From Chatelet les Halles station in Paris its a direct RER train to Disneyland which takes about 40 minutes.

Yes it will be crazy. Remy only does lunch service (Studios has shorter opening hours) The park will have Dreams showing at the close in the Disneyland Park.

The RER A from several stations in Paris takes you to the gates - count anything from 40-80 minutes depending on where you are staying in Paris

The gates open at 9.30 am and you can queue up from as early as you like - EMH starts at 8.00 for on site guests and for Dream/Fantasy AP holders so the bag checks are open

Best is to buy them online at least 24 hours before you come as they are cheaper than on the gate

You will be able to do both parks if you choose in advance what's important too you etc and plan slightly - Jan 1st is less busy than the 25th of December for example

Nothing special the celebrations are the night before

No difference in the lunch men or dinner menu at BCR - It's the same choice but in Jan BCR won't be open for dinner as the park shuts around 18.00/19.00

At park closing you get Dreams which is a laser/fireworks show projected on to the castle - well worth seeing

If you come before 12.00 on the 1st you won't have to buy a ticket for transport - just one for going back to Paris - as it's free from the evening before until noon

Hth :)

So if we book a lunch at Remy what do you suggest for dinner?

You won't have time for lunch and dinner in t/s restaurants - eating in BCR will take up an hour and a half already - if you want to see a lot

Best bet would be something like a sandwich at Earl in Disney Village after the Studios close and then back to the main park - If any of the c/s are still open in the park Market Street Deli isn't bad

Thank you. We are staying near the mirosmesnil metro station.

Do I buy tickets from the website or is there another way to purchase them? Are there discounts on tickets?

What is BCR? Sorry, we go to Walt Disney World a couple of times a year but know very little about Disneyland Paris.

Is there a link to a list of rides that we don't have at Walt Disney World? I read somewhere that Space Mountain is there but is different.

I just googled ticket prices. It looks like if we go two days we will be paying about the same price as an annual pass. Is the correct? We are going to the south of France next summer and might have a side trip to Paris. Would this be a better option?

For a visit on the 1st and/or the 3rd the cheapest ticket atm is the Super Magic ticket which would be 84€ adult 12+ for 1 day/2 parks and 77€ for your 10 yr old - These are the cheapest ones and you can buy them on line - at the gate they are more expensive

You could get an AP - it would be a Fantasy at 179€ pp if you were coming back again it would be worth it

Look at the DLPguide concerning AP's and attractions

BCR - Bistrot Chez Remy ;)

From Miromesnil you'll be around an hour from DLP

You take line 9 (direction Mairie de Montreuil) to Havre-Caumartin, change here and follow the signs to Auber - RER A - Take the direction Marne-la-Vallee Chessy and get off at the end/last stop. You come up an escalator and can see the park entrances
