We will be arriving next Wednesday at the airport around 7pm. In all likelihood, we won't be to the hotel and checked in and ready to eat until probably 9pm or so. There are kids, adults, and older adults so I'm looking for suggestions on where to head for dinner that evening? We're staying at RPR but don't mind walking over to City Walk (prefer not to head into a park on arrival night however). Since 9pm is also park close, we may be arriving at a busy time to eat dinner when everyone else wants to...and perhaps I should plan ahead and make a reservation. But our time would be a guess since I can't predict if the flight will be late, check-in will take longer etc. So basically, where is a safe bet to have dinner on arrival day to get our trip off to a fabulous start?? Any suggestions??

We ate at Jake's our first night and at Orchid Court for dinner on some other nights of our last trip. There are a few items from Jake's that you can get sent up to Orchid (pizza for one) so we had some varied meals up there. (lots of veggie sushi and some pizza and I can't remember the other thing)

I love the Bula Bar (out at the pool) at the RPR. The food is really good and the setting is gorgeous.

Sounds like we should take it easy and just eat at the resort!! Does anyone remember when the pool itself closes? My kids are always tortured when we arrive late and don't get to the pool before it closes!!

jakes and bula bar will be the best to choose from.

if you order from bula, the food is prepared at jakes and brought to the servers there.

My kids are always tortured when we arrive late and don't get to the pool before it closes!!

Make sure they have swimsuits packed in their carryon bags so they can go in ASAP after checkin! :)

I don't remember what time they close. We keep going in the winter and when we're there it's generally literally freezing, so pool time hasn't been much of a part of most of our trips. Sigh.

Pool usually closes at 10 sometimes 11.

I'd also say Jakes or Bula for first night food........can't go wrong with either of them........:thumbsup2

I too like Jakes at RPR. Recently went to Cowfish and the burgers are really good.

Cowfish was not open yet when we went last Aug so I'm excited to try that as well. I like the idea of a sushi and burger combo bento box!!

If you're planning to go to City Walk around the time the parks are closing, it will be busy for sure. I'd agree hanging at RPR is your best bet. If you're anxious to get out and explore, dining at one of the other resorts would also be a better option than trying to go to City Walk at that time. The Kitchen at HRH is supposed to be good - I have it on my list for next trip!
