Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

But I still need to be online in the rundisney web site to register correct?o_O
The Active.com link will be posted on runDisney.com when registration opens...so you'd want to sign into Active.com first, then click the link from the Disney page.

For race weekends I've stayed at the Boardwalk, Beach Club, Grabd Floridian, Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter. I'd stay at any of them again.

Thanks I was looking at POR as my top choice! Mainly bc I wanted to stay when we go in Sept but with CS for the free dining.

I was at Riverside for the Princess Half in 2011 and again last year for Wine & Dine. Liked it both times. :)

:thanks:, and sorry for being such a pest! I just want to be able to register for all our races, especially HIS first 5K ever! He wants a running supporter alongside with him and quite frankly I wouldn't miss doing it with him for anything. Doing a 10k is my own challenge for myself and I will take any help that will lend to getting us registered for everything. Thanks again!:eeyore:

I get it! It's a lot of pressure, especially since you're responsible for registering him as well as yourself.

FWIW, I agree with what @Keels said on the last page - got for your 10K first, then his 5K, then your 5K. The 10Ks have been extremely popular for runDisney.

Will do!:flower3:

Okay...so I just went to the Star Wars links to "practice." Glad I did as things look the tiniest bit different from when I registered for the Disneyland races.

You click on the Active.com link that will be posted in the registration section of runDisney.com. From there, you're re-directed to a page where you can sign in to your Active.com account. From there you can select who you are registering for - if I choose myself, my name, gender, date of birth and address are pre-filled for me based on the information in my Active.com account. There are other fields to fill in (phone number, shirt size, whether you're competing in the military division Y/N, etc.) but having an Active.com account DOES save a bit of typing.

From there it's sort of survey-type questions (are you a CM, are you an AP holder, etc.) and you acknowledge that you need to submit proof of time if you're completing the half in under 3:15. Options to pre-purchase pins and whatnot...and then you put in the old credit card number. Easy, right? :faint:

When just now doing the Star Wars registration, yes, it's different than it was. Easier, though everything was "on hold" 16 minutes after the hour for AP/DVC registration.

I was able to register my son under my active.com account (I did my 10K fully, then I clicked on the registration link for the 5K), but you can't register another adult in your active account. I couldn't figure out a way to log out of active through that portal so I quickly cleared cookies/cache/history (I do this often, and just did it last night, so it took almost no time...if you're someone who doesn't do this routinely it COULD take long enough to cause a problem) then clicked back on the 5K link from the DVC page. By that time the Half and kid races were "on hold" and I got antsy!

Ultimately, the 10K was the last to "go" of the ones that are now "on hold" (the Half still sits there, lonely), for Star Wars, but I don't regret getting my 10K reg in first.

I was able to create an active account for DH; it doesn't take much time, though if you don't already have the account you do have to type in address, etc, info. After reg was done, I think, it asked me to set up a password, so it was pretty simple.

If I register for Princess I'll have it down to a science. :)

Sounds like it! But like I said, my kids have written me off as hopeless when it comes to technology. :sad2: I tried Star Wars, but wouldn't let me do anything as registration date hasn't arrived for that, but I did sort of walk through a full marathon registration for Marathon Weekend in January. I got to sign into active.com then panicked :scared: and backed out figuring I was on the right path as you stated.

At least you know what to expect now! :)

I just logged into my Active.com account to double-check my information, and my birthdate was off by a day. I hear of this bug happening quite a lot with Active - why can they not fix it?! :confused3

I have DH listed under my active.com account. Are you saying that when you went to register for the race it wouldn't let you list another adult or that active.com would not let you register another adult ?

I just played with the Star Wars registration too. It says they want everyone over 18 to register and sign (online)acknowledgement and waiver themselves. I guess this is why you couldn't register another adult? I went in thru my AP holder page and since I had signed into my active account earlier with Shannon's link (checking my BD), when I clicked on the half marathon option it took me right to the registration page with most of my info already filled in.
I am curious now about registering myself and my DD25 for PHM, what I will have to do to register her when I get done registering me?

Can someone explain please what "on hold" means? Is it this waiting room I keep hearing about or is it more you are probably out of luck and it is full? TIA!

I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to book. I just now priced out a 4 night/3 day ticket with Disney online and then did just the 4 night hotel through Disney and 3 day tickets through Undercover Tourist and the difference is only $4. Will there be a special runDisney rate for the race weekend?

Sounds like maybe you should create an Active.com account for her - register yourself and then log in as her so she can be registered? :confused3

Not sure, this is the first time they have had that. Some of the races that were "on hold" opened back up after a bit if people kept refreshing, so I guess "on hold" does not necessarily mean "full." But who knows...

Yes, there will be runDisney races, but they won't necessarily be better than whatever general public/AP discounts are available at that time. Make sure you do your research when discounts are released!

As an annual passholder, where would I go to register early?

There is probably an easier way, but I logged into Disney.com and went to the AP holder section under My Disney Experience. Then the events section of that page and it brought up a list of the races, clicked on the link for the race I wanted and it took me to the registration page. If there is an easier way I would love to know it too!

That's how you're supposed to do it. ::yes::

If you go to the Star Wars Half Marathon thread, it sounds like people had to sign out completely and then back in order to register a second person. I would make sure you have accounts created for everyone ahead of time.
