Your Disney Vacation: What did you pay? vs. what was it worth?

I located it as well after some looking..Curious if everyone has been happy with these "deals" and their experience in the past.
I've gone with them twice before and have been VERY happy-- all my family members have, too. In my experience, the rooms I've ended up with are even better situated than the ones I'd gotten when booking myself and paying regular rack rate. We're going again this August.

Trip length: January 20th - February 2nd 2016

3 nights in a 2 bedroom villa at Old Key West (surprise for my parents; rented points):
Cost: $1,175
"Value" (rack rate): $2,301.75

7 nights in a Savanna view studio at AKV Kidani (rented points):
Cost: $1,277.50
"Value" (rack rate): $3,150 (rate taken off of lowest cost of a Savanna view studio at AKV on allears; would be higher with taxes/fees, but to be honest I would never stay here if I paid full price)

2 nights in a standard view club level room at the Polynesian (haven't booked yet):
Cost: $702 (hopeful for a 30% AP discount; remainder will be paid with 5% off Disney gift cards purchased at Target)
"Value" (rack rate): $1,232 (taken off allears since I can't book it online yet)
*both of these may be a little more with taxes/fees

2 annual passes:
Cost: Free with Disney Visa Rewards and Swagbucks
Value: $1,393.02

Two Roundtrip tickets from Norfolk, VA:
Cost: $23 (free with Southwest points, less fees)
Value: $500 (it's been years since we've paid for flights so I'm assuming this is about what we'd pay)

TIW card:
Cost: $95 with two $50 Disney gift cards purchased at Target at 5% off
Value: $100

Food for 13 days (two table service meals a day and snacks/drinks; budgeting $100 per day some days will be more, some days will be less. We usually end up coming home with a couple hundred dollars):
Cost: $1,035 purchased with 5% discounted gift cards and a $200 Disney gift card we received from opening my husband's Disney Visa account
Value: $1,300

One day two park passes to Universal for two adults:
Cost: $313.12 I'm always hopeful something will come out where I can save money when we go to Universal for the day, but the discounts seem to be only for multiple days.
Value: $313.12

Wild Africa Trek in Animal Kingdom for two adults:
Cost: $378 I'm not really sure where I can save money on this. Possibly use one or two $50 Disney gift cards from Target at 5% off, but I know there's generally a limit to how many forms of payment you can use to purchase tickets over the phone so I'm assuming the same is true with tours. I can't remember if I used more than 2 to book the railroad tour in MK last time.
Value: $378

Possibly SeaWorld or Busch Gardens:
Cost: Free with our platinum passes
Value: $90 for two one day admissions

One day at Discovery Cove
Cost: $215 for two admissions with no dolphin swim with our Busch/SeaWorld pass discount
Value: $350

Transportation:
Cost: Free (my parents are driving and staying at VWL so we'll either ride with them to places or borrow their car when we separate)
Value: $50 (we typically ride public transportation when we don't have a car to places outside of Disney)

Total trip cost: $5,213.62
Value: $11,157.89 (it's funny that this number is so greatly inflated by the rack rate of rooms I would never pay rack rate to stay at)
That sounds like an amazing trip! Thanks for sharing your breakdown of costs.

Here's how I did- back from SWW I:

$300 weekly car rental- approximately 9 hours drive from NC to FL. A lot less hassle than flying- straight shot down I-95 and I-4.

$0 Westgate Lakes 4BR (although technically I guess you could include the $900 yearly maintenance fee). Nice lake view room and daily shuttles to the parks. $0 parking!

Then the tickets... they were $840 for 3 adults park hoppers at Disney and $900 for 3 adults with express passes at Universal.

All in all....not bad and great weather to boot!

If you book with a company. Then a special deal or pin code comes out can u still apply it with them?

Thank you! We're very excited about it. I had to add the two nights at the Polynesian at the end as my brother and his 5 crazy kids under the age of 10 will be wearing us out for 5 days of our trip. We needed recovery days :).

$500 - Premier Rewards American Express, 50,000 points after $1k in purchases 3 months - transfered points to Delta points
$800 (Did for me & dh) - Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa - $400 in cashback after $4k in purchases 3 months
$200 - Chase Disney Visa - $200 in chaseback after $500 in purchases in 3 months
$300 - American Express Delta - 30,000 points after $1k in 3 months
$800 (Did for me & dh) - Capital One Venture Visa - $400 in cashbask
$300 in Disney Visa Referral credits

We also have 3 credit cards that are for monthly expenses that give 2-6% back based on categories. So cashback from those cards add to the total as well.

You need to have well-established, excellent credit to be "flipping" these type of cards. also, you need able to pay off all balances monthly as well as be well organized to track them all. I just say that as I don't want just anyone jumping into based on the exciting numbers and getting themselves into trouble. :)

cool....so you took the cashback options in these various cases..... Thanks for the list, you are right, very interesting, but you have to pretty careful to do it right. In the past as noted I tend to use the rewards points to the max to shave off $$ from my cost, but I forget about good old cashback sometimes!

FWIW, cash back on CC rewards is almost always a poor return for your points.

For instance, the $800 cash back from the Sapphire rewards is the equivalent of 80,000 Ultimate Rewards Points. Use those same points to purchase airfare through their travel portal and pay 80 pts./$, which translates to $1000 worth of airfare for 80K points.

Transfer those same 80,000 URP to a Southwest RR account and you get 80K RR points. At a value of 1.67¢/RR pt., 80K is the equivalent of $1336 in airfare.

Of course, for some people cash is king. They may have no use for the travel rewards that certain credit cards offer but they love getting the money instead.

I put all of this into a spreadsheet to see how much I saved, simply because I was so excited!

This is for 4 adults and 1 child in September at Port Orleans for 7 nights, 6 day park hopper, and Halloween tickets

Free flights with Spirit airlines by getting two of their Mastercards: valued at $879.90

Free dining: valued at $1832.53

Savings from buying Target GC's on Raise @7.8% off, then buying Disney GC's @5% off with RedCard: $559.98, plus earned miles by using Capital One Venture card

Miles from Venture card bonus and regular spending: $547 (and counting!)

Open 4 Chase Disney rewards cards and got $200 free GC after spending $500: $800

Total Value: $9650
Total Saved: $4619

Total trip comes to approx. $1000 per person
