Talk to me about Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria

For those that have eaten there, did you like it? Did you hate it?

If I said I enjoyed Via Napoli in EPCOT, would you say I would enjoy Naples?

Thanks, in advance, for the replies!

I hated it! Very bland food and horrible customer service. And, we weren't the only people upset both times we were there!

It is nothing like Via Napoli, which is my favorite in all of WDW!!!! YUMMMMMY!!!!!

It has pizzas that are reminiscent of the ones served at Via Napolia (i.e., wood-fired thin-crusted). I enjoyed the pizza (some are better than others), but it wasn't anything outstanding. The calamari was pretty good (but most places can do calamari fairly well). The other entrees were hit-or-miss (mostly miss, so I'd say stick with the pizza).

VN is on my family's "must do" list for WDW, but we didn't find Naples to be worth the long waits to be seated. For me, the biggest disappointment were the desserts. The Coppa Di Brutti Ma Buoni sundae is one of my favorite desserts at VN, so I was excited to see it on the Naples menu. It turned out to be far smaller and was lacking.

Overall, I would say that if you like Naples, you'll probably like VN, but the reverse may not be true. If you go to Naples expecting VN level quality, you'll be disappointed.

We've enjoyed Naples everytime we've been there. The waiter was quite attentive, and the pizzas came hot and well prepared. Can't compare it to via Napoli, as we've not eaten there.

We make a point of going to VN whenever we visit DW because we really like the food - arancini app, pizza, and desserts, especially. We've tried Naples twice because we thought maybe they were having an off day the first time - nope. It wasn't any better the second time. Pizza was disappointing and entrees were tasteless.

Our favorites at DTD in DLR are Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen and the House of Blues.

I've been to both and really enjoyed both. VN is better but Naples is the same style and still the pizza on DLR property IMO.

We always eat at Naples when we go to DLR. Last year my daughter and husband asked if they could make a pepperoni and shrimp pizza. Few restaurants are able to do this, but Naples did, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the lasagne and the minestrone, both of which were very good.
But I have simple tastes. A lot of the food at the fancy schmancy restaurants at DLR sounds gross to me.

Naples is fine, not great and not terrible. It's not my first choice in DtD because I think it is overpriced for average Italian food. (Disclaimer: I'm picky about Italian food.) But it does work out very well for group dinners. The service is good and everyone can find something they like.

We like Naples. Its great for a large group but don't go starving. The service is alway painfully slow.

If you're staying on property it's really convenient as my husband usually calls and orders it while we're at the pool at GCH then runs over and gets it to bring to the room for dinner. It's nothing amazing but no one has ever complanined.

There's your review: It's nothing great, but not terrible.

BTW if you join the Patina Group Birthday Club you get a $30 gift cert to use your birthday month and can use at Naples in DTD

All of our traveling family have joined and usually someone has a birthday when we go and saves us money...I believe you have to be 18yrs old so it doesn't count for kids, but still a good deal.

I'm a little picky and I love Naples! It's great for kids. You can sit outside and has a great atmosphere. The pizza is good, but does have very thin crust. It's still good, though. I love their pasta. They also have people walking around who will stop at tables and make animal balloons, which keep the kids occupied.

We've had it a few times. In our experiences it was better than park pizza by far, and service was solid. It wasn't amazing pizza, but it was close.

It's not quite classic American pizzeria style pizza, from memory at least. It was thin, fired hot, and wasn't as greasy as the more standard pies served in the parks. The toppings were more Italian style too (less cheese, better meats, etc). Calamari was solid too, and the drink menu was great.

Our kids count Naples as one of their favoutite food experiences at Disney. This may be because I make similar pizza at home, or because the balloon artists were always so incredible. Or maybe it was that it was a mellower vibe than in the parks, which is nice after a long day.

We have always enjoyed our meals there. The pizzas were good and they were great with our toddler making a little fruit plate for him.

I've ate there twice. First time was better than what I was expecting, considering we showed up late to our reservations and were still seated relatively quickly. Food wise, I was pleasantly satisfied with our meal. We ordered a large pizza, half pepperoni and half sausage barese. When our pizza came out it was burnt, not a nice wood fired color; burnt. Now, they were busy so we explained to our runner (the waiter was hardly around and the runner/busser was of more help) and he got a manager and our pizza was remade and came out delicious.
Our second visit was just off. The waitress was all over the place and communication was just off. We explained how much we enjoyed our last visit and tried to order the same pizza, but the sausage barese was not available. So I asked if we could substitute ingredients and she made it more complicated than it had to be, but we ended up with pepperoni on one side and sausage w/ peppers & onions on the other. Pizza came out looking delicious, but the onions and peppers made the pizza watery....sooo it was bleh. Big slices of red onion which didn't make sense...I would think they would have sliced the onions a little thinner.

Bottom line: I don't think the pizza is worth the price, but it's DtD. I would stick with just pepperoni if I visit Naples again....the lasagna looked good.

Like maaan whose the half naaaaked dude sitting too near yer foods? Lol

Our family loves Naples and goes there every trip. We love the Pizza. Only problem I have with them is the service is too fast and they try to rush you out. 15 seconds after you sit down they are trying to take your order, two bites into my salad and the main course is arriving, 1/3 into my main course they are trying to take desert orders. The next time I went there and they were trying to pull the same stunt I was blunt and told them.... We will be here for 1 1/2 hours and that we were in no rush. They backed off then.

Totally agree. It's always our first-night-at-DLR dinner. We always ask to sit outside downstairs, from which we can people watch and the kids can get balloon animals. We all *love* this style of pizza--thin crust, and my kids love the pasta there, too. Awesome salads to split, too.

I find this to be the case at a lot of the restaurants in DLR. I get that many families with kids want the food to come out quickly, but that isn't the case with us. (We bring things for DD10 and DS7 to do--paper & crayons, puzzle books, Mad Libs--and they understand that the break of a 1 1/2-hour sit-down dinner is important to the adult in our party--DH, my inlaws, and me--just as going on rides, rides, and more rides is important to them!)

Like the PP, we've often told the serving staff, politely, that we don't want to rush through the meal. We often just order one course at a time, if possible, to prevent the food from coming all at once.
