Here now at RP, checked in yesterday. The Royal Club hours are....7-10 am Continental Breakfast, 12-3 pm Afternoon snacks (chips, goldfish, snack mix, whole fruit, Smunkers P& J. Pop, water, tea out all the time, 4:30-6:30 Royal Relaxation (evening hot food), and Something Sweet 8-9pm. The lounge is open all day until 9. Staff is very nice and very helpful too. Josh is very very good.

Thanks for reply for RPR. Anyone know HRH hours for am and happy hour? I think they are slightly different and trying to plan days when parks close early (Dec) would we be back early enough for happy hour food and drinks, as well as the hour they open if we go to early entry...

We are making our first trip to Universal Studios in September. We are planning on staying at RPR and I am debating upgrading to Club Level. We have stayed at Disney Coronado Springs Business Class with the lounge and really enjoyed it. We took advantage of the continental breakfast every day and snacks most nights. For our Disney trip I was able to get this upgrade for an extra $30 per night which was totally worth it on a 7 day trip. We are only going to be at Universal for 3 days and the upgrade is $400. Is it going to be worth it or am I going to spend about the same on breakfast, snacks, etc for a family of 4 for those 3 days? Also, does anyone know if the club level rooms have been renovated? I'd hate to pay for the upgrade and get a less then stellar room.

We are seasoned Disney vacationers and I want to make sure my family has the same great experience at Universal. Thanks for any insight or tips you can provide.

No club renovations yet. Still working on tower 1 now. Personally, I like the food at the club level, but I think DH would have preferred to eat dinner at one of the nicer resort restaurants. I think the quality of food is not fabulous, but it is fine and plentiful. I like it for the convenience. I think it is worth the cost if you plan to use it daily for both breakfast and dinner/appetizers, but if you plan to eat dinner/ breakfast somewhere else, probably not worth it.

The HRH club did happy hour from 5pm to 7pm when I was there in late March. Food was ok - usually wings with a couple different sauce choices, fried mushrooms, mini egg rolls, that type of thing. The bar had about 4 or 5 different beers. One thing about the HRH club vs the Disney Club - they won't give you unopened bottles of beer to take back and store in your room fridge for a night cap back at the room. But on the plus side - they do have 16 oz bottles of water that you can take to the park or back to your room instead of the big glass liter bottles that Disney has.

Just returned from HRH after 4 night stay May 23 to 27. Had a great stay on 7 floor Rock Royalty level. The rock royalty lounge is open daily from 7AM through 10PM with service hours as follows:
Continental Breakfast 7:00AM - 10:00AM Afternoon recharge (snacks) 12:00PM -3:00PM
Evening Reception (hors d' oeuvres) 5:00PM -7:00PM Bed time Snacks 8:30PM - 9:30PM

I can not give opinion about RPR as I stayed at HRH club level for yearly family vac. First time at universal 4 nights (always go to Disney's beach club). The club offerings were convenient and the rooms so comfortable and short walk to Univ. Studios and IOA. The best part was the include Universal express passes. Cost if bought separately $89. We were able to use them for everthing but Forbidden Journey, the train, and Escape from Gringotts. It saved so much time. We rode all rides multiple times with longest wait at Spiderman 15 minutes other rides were walk on or 5 minutes. HRH and Universal beat out Disney this trip.
