We have never been to Disney at this time and have these dates reserved for this year. What are your best tips and must do holiday things? Is there anything special New Years eve? We will be staying at Yacht club if that makes a difference. I'm super excited but need lots of help. Thanks!

We will be in Disney the same days! We go almost every year at this time and the main thing you need to realize is it will be extremely busy! Parks close to capacity and it will be wall to wall people! You must have a plan, have your dining reservations booked early, you FP+ selections as soon as possible and plan on being at the parks at opening to take advantage of low crowds, or plan on staying super late.

That being said it is also the most magical time to go, lots of holiday decorations, parades, special fireworks, shows etc. New Years Eve is probably the busiest day of the year, there will be special fireworks/shows in all the parks except AK. Plan to be at the park of your choice prior to opening and plan on staying all day, if you leave you will probably not be let back in. We never stay up for the NYE fireworks, so our typical NYE involves being at AK at rope drop, its so dead that we manage to everything we want with no waiting and are ready to leave by 1pm. That evening we have dinner at DTD and then head over to the Poly to see the 8pm firework show, it helps to miss all the madness.

For New Years Eve pick which park you want to be in for the firework and get there in the morning. They tent to slowly shut down parks those days. So if you need to see the fireworks in MK get there early and don't leave.

Also I was down there a few years ago. We didn't end up going to the park that day but I think it was December 27th or 28th AK, MK and HS all ended up shutting down. The only park that was excepting people was Epcot. That day was nuts.

Wow! I'm expecting crazy crowds so anything less will be a pleasant surprise. It will actually be the second time we are there in 2015. I just don't want to miss any cool holiday stuff!

Does anyone have any recommendations on booking a dining package for new year's eve for either illuminations or fantasmic?
What about the candlelight processional dining package for a day other than new year's eve?

A PP mentioned 8 pm fireworks. What times have they been traditionally? Also I saw something about parties at the resorts? Anyone have experiance with them?
