Wanting other Disney Families' opinions on this scenario.

Travelling with one child 5y.o, and two infants less than 3 y.o

On Disney Dining Plan

5 y.o loves Disney Princesses

Infants don't get meals on dining plans

therefore, Akersus for the Disney Princesses or Garden Grille for the Buffet to feed the infants.

Akershus is a princess character meal. It has a cold buffet of appetizer type things, but you order from a menu.

California Grill is a "signature" restaurant, which means it's a little nicer and more expensive than other Disney restaurants. It also has a dress code, albeit a very permissive one. It is "California" cuisine ... much closer to fine dining than Akershus, where the emphasis is princesses.

They are in 2 entirely different classes, IMO.

We did Akershus for lunch once when my daughter was little - like 7 maybe? We liked it well enough for what it is. The food was better than we expected and the character interaction was great.

We love California Grill, and we did it once when my daughter was little. She did fine, but she was exhausted, so she was more "docile" than normal. LOL.

California Grill isn't a buffet, its a signature which means its a little nicer with a dress code, so I am not sure I would bring 2 infants. You do always have the option to buy the infants a meal too or have them eat off your plate when its not a buffet.

Akershus. You could take the kids to CG, but with two infants and a 5yo ...I think you may be pushing your luck. CG is a high end restaurant meant for a romantic meal. If you go -I would go early out of respect to patrons who are paying a couple hundred dollars for a romantic meal. My children were very well behaved in restaurants, but I wouldn't have taken them to CG at that age ..one, they may ruin the environment for other customers; and two, they may disrupt my own meal and cause me to run them out of the restaurant to calm them down ..ruining our meal.

With a child, Ill always pick a character meal. Look at my picture to the left. You cant replace that with a filet mignon! Eat a nice dinner at a local restaurant when you are home. At Disney, dine with the Princesses!

No worries my sister is due two weeks from Monday... I've had lots of practice deciphering baby brain lately.

I would go with what characters you want to meet. Both are all you care to eat, so no worries there, but one is Princesses and one if the "Boys".
