We're going to DLP next week & debating what shoes to pack. Weather is looking pretty good with just a few showers forecast.

A lot of people recommend sketchers go walk but they just don't fit me right, one size is too small but the next size up too big, damn my silly feet.

I was thinking converse? What does everyone else prefer?

Wear whatever you have that is comfortable - unless you have nothing suitable at home I wouldn't buy anything new to wear now as you haven't got very long to break them in. In the summer I tend to wear Clarks sandals/Crocs flip flops but always take a pair of trainers with me in case it rains or my ankle starts playing up and I need the support.

I live in heels so no good for Disney really. I have trainers for work but they don't go with anything I own other than work wear, new shoes it is.

Went for converse on the grounds they were sparkly, will just have to wear them as much as I can before we go!

Suppose I could take my work trainers as a back up, I'd look ridiculous but they're comfy

Bring the work trainers Kate. Comfort over looks for me every time in Disney.

Last summer in DLP I wore converse and my feet were really sore so I took to changing into something else for the evening - flipflops or trainers. I since bought sketchers go walks and they were my staple footwear for my California trip. It's the memory foam soles that are brilliant. No sore feet either in Disneyland or in San Francisco where I also walked for miles.

I agree ::yes::

I've got a couple of pairs of converse and they are very comfy once they're worn in but I do find they blister my heels when they're new. So wear them as much as you can before you go and have your work trainers as back up - honestly, you won't look out of place wearing trainers at Disney.

Sketchers has a new line out with memory foam in them now. I tested out a pair and thought they were very comfortable. I bought a set just for our trip at the end of July. Breaking them in now. :)

I am going in 2 days and plan to wear my Skechers Go Walk and will also take a pair of comfy Clarks sandals that I have had a few years.

I got back yesterday. My Fitbit said I walked 22km on Tuesday! EMH plus Dreams! I wore my new Go walks the whole day and no blisters or discomfort at all!
Stupidly wore Crocs on Wednesday and got blisters! It was 18k though!

Can't believe the sketchers are so awesome!!! And I normally live in converse! ( I own 7 pairs!!!)

I usually wear my trainers for the parks then for the evening (bar and meal) sandals

I normally wear Vans or and old pair of boots in winter. I wore uggs one year and the combination of absorbent material and rain wasn't the way forward... I had to put plastic bags in my shoes so I didn't run the risk of trench foot. If you're trying to break Converse in fast I recommend wearing really thick socks and then driving in them. The pedal motion busts them in a little faster.

Whatever I wear, I find it's a good idea to mix it up from day to day. I usually wear sneakers/trainers or a good pair of flip flops with arch support. But, I don't wear the same pair of shoes on back to back days.

I always wear my Converse :) I must be lucky in not having to break them in - don't think I've ever had blisters from my Converse whether new or not but I've suffered terribly with other trainers! I do put insoles in them though and those memory foam heel wedge things (don't know their proper name!) that you can get in cheapo shops for about a quid :)

My advice would be the same as everyone else though - if you have a pair of comfy trainers, take them with you! Even if you don't wear them every day, you might find that you need them and then you'll be glad you packed them and won't care if they don't go with your outfit! :rotfl:

Oh, and don't forget the plasters in case you do end up with blisters.

I either wear Crocs or trainers (baskets). Last week I did 14k in Crocs walking to and from the park plus around it without any pb.

I bought a pair of Sketchers with the memory foam and they were fab, you didn't realise that you had shoes on - sadly the pair I had ripped inside on the heel and the shop gave me a refund as no more in stock. If any one knows where they are going cheap - as here it's 80€ - I'd be interested :)

thanks all, really wish sketchers were a better fit for me. Wonder if I got the slightly bigger pair used an insole they'd fit better

Converse being delivered this morning according to the lovely parcelforce text message service. Will wear them lots over the next few days & get used to them but will take trainers & my toms too. not waterproof but super comfy!

I wore brand new winter boots when we went in November. I ended up with blood blisters on the sole of my feet! Plodded on though and it only got to me when we were in the airport going home! Haha.

Always take comfy well worn in shoes. Don't risk new. It's not worth it.

I switch up my footware so my feet get a rest. One day trainers, then crocks, my fit flops too. I find rotating the shoes helps with foot and leg strain. Whatever you wear, make sure it is comfortable and well broke in to your feet. This is not a time for new shoes. Crocs and fit flops are nice if it is raining but do be careful of slipping.
