'Ohana breakfast?

I hear a lot of people talk about the breakfast at 'Ohana but it just sort of looks like a basic breakfast to me? Am I missing something? I feel like we'd be better off eating at our own resort at a CS to save money? We're breakfast people so I just want to know of it's really worth it! Thanks.

Its a character breakfast. The food at most character breakfasts is far from memorable ( with a few exceptions). Most people go for the character interaction.

If you're interested only in the food, you will have better food and better prices at any non character meal, by and large.

Thanks! I feel like people talk good about the food but maybe it's just the experience as a whole that makes it better!

I think if you are looking for a breakfast with characters, Ohana is one of the better choices. It is less hectic than the buffet breakfasts, and food is good. If you are not interested in characters and just a good breakfast, there are much better choices.

Agreed with both above. There is nothing wrong with the food (who doesn't like a Mickey waffle:)) but it's basically the same eggs, sausage & waffles you would get at a CS restaurant. Their bread basket and POG juice is a little unique, but not worth the cost just for that. It's really about the character interaction and atmosphere. Mind you, my family enjoyed it and will probably do it again. But not "just for the food".

It was definitely the characters at the 'Ohana breakfast that were "value added." Four characters: Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Goofy make the rounds here. Interaction between characters, kids and adults. Happy Polynesian atmosphere, music, smiles at all the tables. Time for pics with the characters at your table. Even my DD29 commented on what fun she had.

If you just want a simple breakfast, certainly you can have anything from a la carte to breakfast platters at your resort. But there are about 24 WDW resorts and you could explore Disney property by having breakfast at another resort food court, or breakfast at a full service restaurant at those resorts that offer it, or a character breakfast such as 'Ohana, Crystal Palace (MK), Tusker House (AK), Princess breakfast at CRT (MK) or Akershus (Epcot).

Here's a complete list of character breakfasts. Call to inquire about cost during your travel time. http://www.wdwinfo.com/just_for_kids/character_dining.cfm

I like 'Ohana breakfast, but we like character meals. If I wanted just breakfast I would go to the Kona Cafe

If you want a character meal with good food and choices try Tusker House or Cape May. Kona is a great sit down breakfast.

I found Ohana to be very overated. Both the service and characters were slow.

I am not a big breakfast eater, but I loved Ohana's breakfast. My family thought the food and character interaction was great. We plan on going back for our upcoming trip in the fall. However, as much as I loved the food, if this was not a character meal I couldn't justify paying that price just for breakfast.

We like that its family style, no up and down like a buffet. The food is usually hot and fresh too. The character interaction is good and the kids enjoy the parade.

We also love the family style service of 'Ohana when compared to the buffets. It's way more relaxing. I'll take slightly more basic but still good food and a relaxing meal over the chaos of a character buffet any day of the week. Nothing against buffets in general--we love Trails End and Boma--but the combination of characters and a buffet makes for a stressful meal with young kids.

I'm a breakfast person and found the meal itself to be a pretty big letdown. Not much in the way of offerings and very poor quality when we were there (everything was very dry and overcooked). The characters were a lot of fun, but if you aren't in it for the characters I'd go somewhere else. We had a much better breakfast at Kona as well as Cape May Café.

We enjoy the selection at 'Ohana for breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey/Stitch waffles, potatoes....all served at your table hot and fresh.
And the character interaction is fun too. :)
