WDW Commando Club 2 - Magic Bands & FP+ Oh My

Hey gang, I know I've been MIA (ahhhhh, I'm in my 20s you know we're flaky right? LOL just kidding).

I've been lurking as mama duck knows. Is tear track really that bad now (the lines)? I'm trying to understand the best plan of attack for fast passes.

Since they added the design a car part I have noticed a longer wait (not that the wait wasn't long without it), now although designing a car is cool, once you have one in your band you really don't have to do it again, my son was the only one that designed a car out of us this trip, but my wife and I tapped our bands when getting into the car and one from the last trip appeared:confused3 so basically if you have already designed a car in the past this step should really be able to be skipped :confused3.
Also in Epcot and HS the FP+ has tiers so you can't just pick the big rides, and in turn has created lines for rides that never really had a long wait, for example Spaceship Earth I have seen the line fill the queue filled and lined up heading towards the park entrance (that's crazy:eek:)

Another thing that stays in your bands is the Sorcerer game in the MK, you can continue where you left off last visit:thumbsup2

Cool that the designs can be/will be saved. But seriously, the queue for SE filed? There has got to be a better way. Good ol Disney and their new ideas :rolleyes2 I am waiting to make adrs to decide on how to attack tiering. From what I have read, if you make good use of RD (as all good commandos do) you can fare a bit better.

Today kinda marks a moment of Zen for me:confused3, 30 days ago we were leaving the airport heading home from WDW, 30 days from now we will be arriving at airport heading to WDW, and 30 days from when we return home we will be heading back to the airport once again for WDW:dancer:

That is some kind of awesome! Congratulations!

Do any of you have tips for writing trip reports? I am thinking of writing a TR/DR but my last attempt pretty much failed. What programs do you use for pictures? Also, do you take notes while you're on your trip so you can remember specifics?

Ok so here's the the delemia for our Star Wars Weekend Trip:confused3, 3 families total, 1 we have toured a few times with, the other we know, never toured with but the other family has, 1st red flag both families like to sleep in:sad2:, The next red flag is that the one family has 2 girls and a boy, now this really isn't a big problem except for the fact out of the 11 of us 3 boys are in the same class, so some adjustment has to be made to keep the girls happy:goodvibes, Although as of now we all hold tickets for Feel The Force for Fri and Sat, one will be cancelled (this is over a $1200 expense as of now:crazy2:), next red flag is dinner adr's:scared:. anyway both families know that I would like to pull off SWW on fri since it will be the least crowded, but have Sat incase of weather issue:thumbsup2, next red flag is we are all staying at different resorts:eek:, if one family runs late they could throw the whole plan off and when I say off they may not be included in the scheduled activity:scared1:.I have told each family it is imperative that we catch the 1st bus to HS at 6:30 am , at 7:30 the Stomtroopers start the show, at 8 park opens, then we must sign the kids up for Jedi Training and Padawan mind challenge, also we have to get to the Darth Maul to get the limited Stormtrooper pin that will only be sold that weekend, and poster for pass holders only:thumbsup2, basically by 10am most of the day will be molded:cool2: now if anyone of the families miss any of this it will change the day big time for them:faint:, Hopefully everyone will be on the same page:goodvibes

I haven't done a trip report in a while since we now go so often, I do take notes on what we do so I can compere them to what I had planned, as far as pics, I am the most non tech person you will ever know:laughing:, my phone probably got retired in 2000:rotfl2:, just ask Randall:confused3

If you watch NCIS, Ron is our Agent Gibbs, flip phone and all.

We are one month away from the Universal/WDW trip with the inlaws. No FPs, no ADRs, no touring plans. Well, at least it's a free vacation.

Just don't force choke anyone if they run late. :lmao:

I'm not liking the setups of the new boards. I was hoping they would have fixed those issues by now, but no such luck. I've tried posting the pics from photobucket as well as uploading directly, and they both seem to have extra selections as well as the pictures are different sizes. I'm still having problems just typing a sentence as the text field will stop and i have to re-click in the field to type. My live trip reports may have ended. Ron's flip phone may be the way to go.

Speaking of Gibbs there are a few of his rules that would apply while touring WDW, I'll just give the numbers since I'm the only one that seems to not be tech savvy:rotfl:. Rules 3, 11, 14. 15, 35, 39 , 51 And remember "A slap to the face is an insult --- To the back of the head is a wake up call":rotfl2: Ya Think:confused3

OH NO! No ADR's? Like ZERO? wow, I'd sooooooooooo have to sneak 1 in, lol. Enjoy the trip though and free is ALWAYS awesome! Now THAT's Disney Magicpixiedust:

Okay, it has been a little while since I have had a full day(s) to devote to each park. For a trip in November during the end of Food and Wine but NOT Thanksgiving, is at all feasible to get on TSM first thing and use my other 3 FastPass+ for something else? :confused3 I ask because we really are only going to ride this ride once to see what it's about, not really our thing.
I get headaches/migraines and haven't really been able to tolerate rides that spin since my early teens. This is hunny's first trip to WDW and he is way more into riding ST multiple times to get different versions/planets. We are doing RD at DHS one morning so I figured make my FastPass+ for Rock n Rollercoaster, ST, and TT, and head straight towards TSM at RD. You all's thoughts?

***additional info: TGMR I REFUSE :snooty: to get a fast pass for, never had to in life and just cannot fathom needing to unless it's the dead of summer midday, lol. We have Fantasmic! dinner plans so no need for a FP there***

You read correctly - none. It is a free vacation, so I can't complain too much. But, it certainly isn't how I want to tour WDW.

I certainly think you are going about HS the right way:thumbsup2, Doing TSM at RD will get you on quickly, and just incase you like it and it turns into a little friendly competition between you and your hunny:confused3, you can get right back on with a small wait:banana:, the one thing I would suggest is maybe take the boat to the Boardwalk sometime in the afternoon to put a little freshness into the day (if you have Parkhoppers you could visit a few Countries and see some shows in Epcot, then go back to HS) , since HS at this time is not really a all day park:eek:

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that is not pleased on the new direction of the boards:confused:, it use to be so easy to navigate:cool1:, when they change something so much they should offer some kind of tutorial that explains how to navigate everything:confused3

Ok so these are what the Gibbs rules are, just reflect and see if they would fit into your Commando planning:confused3

Rule 3 - Don't believe what you're told. Double check.

Rule 11 - When the job is done, walk away.

Rule 14 - Bend the line, don't break it.

Rule 15 - ALWAYS work as a Team.

Rule 35 - Always watch the watchers.

Rule 39 - There is no such thing as coincidence.

Rule 51 - SOMETIMES YOUR WRONG

I think you will agree that some if not all would fit into the way you tour Commando:confused3

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Definitely hit the nail on the head, especially #3 and 39::yes::

Thank you so much! I am sure it will one heck of a competition, lol, I just don't know if I can take the spinning too many times. I actually had my EMH parks mixed up so this is even better news, the last day we will be at the parks DHS has am EMH that we are going to so that's when we'll ride TSM. Absolutely taking the boat/walking between Epcot and DHS a few times.

Getting real close to our next trip, Fri I will be giving the other 2 families my detailed plan, Now I am quite flexible if we need to make changes as long as I am told in advance, once we are there the only changes I will make is if things get backed up or not going as planned, then I will make a hasty decision and come up with another plan immediately:woohoo:. Now I'm sure Randall will agree one time when we were touring MK we started with getting our Sorcerer cards as we were leaving the Firehouse the horse drawn trolly was just pulling up to the front of the train station, so we get in the last row and as luck has it The Dapper Dans jump on the back:thumbsup2, we talked with them, we sang with them, we even wore there hats:banana:, with this the day was already made:goodvibes, then we went to POTC it was having problems not opened yet so we went to HM and they also were having problems:eek:, never once were we deer in headlights we just kept moving along then we went to Monsters laugh factory at this time the only one who was not on the same page was my wife who was doing shopping:lmao: she was a bit confused , but we made the best of thing we could not control and had a Great time:dancer:.

What I'm worried about this trip is since we have 3 families in this tour, The 1 family knows the drill since this will be our 4th tour together, I'm hoping the 3rd family will be on the same page, I just hope they give me heads up in advance if they want to do something different, otherwise it is as planned with you snooze you loose:confused3 Since I have made a few options each day with down time and even ADR options
