Booking for 4, don't know if it's really 3 or 2.

I'm looking to book a CRT ADR for January soon but I'm not 100% sure if it'll be 4, 3, or 2 people. It'll most likely be 3 but might be 4 or 2. And by the time I'd officially know, it'll be too late.

So should I book for 4 and if there's less, there's less. Is there any kind of penalty for less people?

Most likely you won't be charged if you show up with less people, but to avoid the issue I would make the reservation for four and call to drop people later if it winds up being 2 or 3. It's easier to drop people from the reservation then to try and add them later.

I'm pretty sure that for pre-paid reservations you will not get a refund if some people don't show up.

Is it pre-paid now? I thought it was just a set price that you pay at the restaurant, has it changed?

It is prepaid in advance unless you are using the DDP (in which case they verify that and just use a credit card guarantee with nothing charged upfront)

CRT has been pre-paid for years. We had to pre-pay in 2009.

Ditto what Alesia said. I pre-paid in 2013. CRT is one restaurant where you really have to know the number in your party. If you cannot commit, it is best to consider somewhere else. Akershus perhaps, if you are interested in princess character dining?

Oh right, I've always been on the dining plan so that's why I don't remember paying upfront.

It is prepaid but you can get your money back if you cancel at least 48 hours out. I do not know if you cancel just part of the reservation or if you have to cancel all people and rebook to get your money back.
