I found these boards recently looking for information while planning an upcoming trip. We've been to both Disney World and Disneyland multiple times but this will be our first trip planned out in advance and our first time to stay on property. We're going in December of this year. I am SOOOO excited but also a bit overwhelmed with the whole planning process. I look forward to learning a lot here! :)

If your trip is in December this year its time to start seriously planning, especially your ADRs. Remember you can make your dining reservations at 180+10 days. If you want to try some of the more popular places you will need to make you ADRs as soon as you can. Most people will tell you to start looking for the hard to get ADRs for the end of your trip first. Then work your way back. Check out the EMH schedule to help plan your park days, although EMH are subject to change. FP+ can be made 60 days out. I would also make them for the popular attractions as soon as you can. If you must have A&E M&G or 7DMT do it early. You can always change them or move the times later. Don't get discouraged if you can't get what want. People are always changing their plans. Keep checking several times everyday. Remember even if you can't get everything you want scheduled ahead of time, you can always use rope drop and stand by lines to do them. These boards are a wealth of information for planning. Welcome to "the Dis". Have a great trip. December is a great time to visit. Cheers!!!

Thanks for the tips! June 14th is our 180 days date, so I'm working on getting some basic plans down before then. I'm nervous about having a harder time with ADRs because we have a party of 9, but I'm hoping I can still get what we want! A&E will be a big deal, but mostly for my daughter so if it comes down to it and it's easier this way, I might just try to snag FP+ for her and me, and let hubby and our boys do something different with that time. Can you split up FP+ like that, where only part of your group gets them for a particular attraction?

We're super excited about being there when it's all decorated for Christmas. We do plan on getting to the park at rope drop, at least most days. The morning after our evening at MVMCP might be an exception. :)

Thanks for the warm welcomes!

Howdy!
I'm from Texas, too. And I'll also be at Disney the first of December!
I'm super excited and a little nervous about ADRs. It seems like it's harder to get reservations since the last time I was there in 2005.
:welcome: And have a great trip!
