Zen And The Art Of PTR Maintenance. Sept 2016 PTR. 16/4 Trip Report Anyone??

Sanaa. They look amazing!
Sanaa truly is amazing, or was about 5 years ago, and still gets rave reviews!
I hope to try Jiko one day.
He said it's fine, he's a lawyer he can get me off!

fran-wink-gif.99246

That is from Magic Mike, have you seen it? It's a really good film :rolleyes1
They tried to ruin it with a "plot", but seriously who thought "Hey lets go see that movie about male strippers I'm sure it will have a super dramatic plot!" :rotfl: No, just shut up and take your shirt off!

taking_his_shirt_off_ian-gif.99237

::yes::

There is actually a guy I know at my local gym who works in one of those types of shows....yeah I've never watched him work out...all the time...:rolleyes1

Considering the above you shall henceforth be known as Sassypants my friend! ;)

How cool that you got a walk up ADR for BOG!!!! I love when that happens. I've eaten there four times (sorry...I still don't like the grey stuff) and will be having two meals there in July.

I'm sorry you didn't get your mountaint trifecta done. :(

I'm sorry you didn't get your mountaint trifecta done. :(

It was amazing...even more so when we got another one a couple of days later! Talk about pixie dust! :tink:

They might have changed the grey stuff since but when we had it it was just like eating Oreo whipped cream! And since I love Oreos and whipped cream I was sold :thumbsup2 plus it was free! That always helps! :rotfl:

I'm sure the dishes forgive you! :duck::lmao:

It is always bummer when you can't get on all the mountains in one day...but we made up for it later! :woohoo:

Yay, finally caught up! My uncle lives near Southampton, but I've not visited Manchester or Newcastle areas yet.

:cool1: Yay! Well done for making it through! :rotfl:
I've only ever been to Southampton once when I was a kid, I'm Northern! :rotfl2:

Wow, so jealous! My longest trip so far has been 10 days!
We do tend to go for longer. I mentioned before the longest I have ever been was for 6 weeks. :earseek:

That is great news! You and your mom are gorgeous, and I hope you have a fabulous time planning the trip as well as going on the trip.

Thanks she is doing really well right now! I am a total planner so I love planning it nearly as much as doing it! Its an addiction! :rotfl:

Well, you are doing this trip in style, that's for sure!

If you are gonna do it do it right, right?

Ice cream? *hangs head in shame* Not only did I not know where Boardwalk even was, I did not know about the ice cream location either. Definitely adding this to my must do list! (As long as it's warm enough, of course!)

Its always warm enough for ice cream! It snowed(!) here yesterday :sad2: and I still ate ice cream!
I can sort of understand not knowing where the Broadwalk is, with the MK hotels you can see them from the park but with the Epcot ones unless you get the boat to HS they are more hidden. So hold your head high! :cheer2:

It's not an addiction, it's a talent!

TCqaQGS.gif

Mmmm, hoping that DH would like to eat here one night!

You must convince him! It was hands down the best meal of the trip for me....*drool*

I love the Magical Express - I just think of it as a very long Disney limo.

:rotfl:
I love that! They should rename it Disney's Magical Limo Express!

I have not yet grown out of this fear... Definitely a fear of the "big drop", plus my own vision of me flying out of the log. Totally unrealistic, I know - as if Disney would have a ride where there is a potential of visitors hurtling out through the air into the water!

I totally get what you are saying. There is a theme park here call Alton Towers and they have this ride called Air and seriously the whole ride I was convinced that I was going to die. Like legit die! Weirdly I never went on it again...wonder why? :scratchin

Okay....totally wrong of me....but...how funny would it be if they actually did have a ride that catopulted visitors into the water (totally safely of course) I would totally be up for that! :rotfl2:

Me neither. You are correct - if there is a potential for chocolate, that's where I'll be found as well.

Chocolate=Win. Also Im not a huge fan of pineapple flavoured things. I like pineapple, just not stuff flavoured like pineapple...unless booze is involved...then I'm good. :lmao:

I love reading about real mountains, but I will never be climbing real mountains myself. I seem to be able to handle most of the Disney versions, just not Splash. Yet.

I'm okay looking at mountains from a distance (like on TV!) but I cant watch anything with people on mountains or from the top of mountain. I blame Sylvester Stallone! ::yes::

I've never even seen Avatar myself. I hope it turns out well, just not sure either why that is a match for AK.

Never got all the way through Avatar. I hope it works out well too, I agree it just doesn't say "Animal Kingdom" to me. Its not even a Disney movie. You would think if they are building a whole land around a movie they would have chosen one of their own. Or at least something better than Avatar :sad2:

I love this movie! The ride fills me with apprehension - I definitely need a ride buddy for this attraction, or I chicken out!

Oh good someone else has seen it too! :happytv:
I honestly didn't think I would love this considering my history with Splash (drops) and Haunted Mansion (scary stuff) but for whatever reason I just LOVE IT! :hyper:
Just grab the person next to you, even if it's a stranger, that's what always seems to happen to me! :lmao:

I've never eaten at any of these places, but I think for my solo HS day I would like to try Sci-Fi Dine In myself.

Sci-Fi is just so much fun! If you can get time to try it you really should. As long as you don't go in expecting fine dining you should enjoy it! But you can't beat the theme.

Awwww, I know it's a bit tired, but I love this attraction because it reminds me of one of the few movies that DH and I both enjoyed together.

Maybe I would have liked it more if I liked the movie...at all! :rotfl:

Lol, I actually deserted my daughter in the gift shop so that I could go and ride it one more time on my own. I wasn't brave enough last time to try the Gringott's ride, but I don't plan on going back to Universal for the foreseeable future anyways. Not as much good atmosphere, and I'm not a huge fan of CityWalk.

:rotfl:
I agree with you, US and IOA just didn't have that something extra in terms of atmosphere for me. Plus I'm not a HP fan (I'm sorry dont kill me! :duck:) and I think that is US and IOA's big appeal right now. Maybe when they build the King Kong land thing that I might go back...maybe...

Why would I wreck my natural flourescence? It might be the thing that makes me more visible in the dark for my family to find me at night.

:rotfl2:
You see I don't glow in the dark nor am I tanned so I'm sort of a dull grey which isn't cute :sad2:

I wasn't a fan of Miami either, but maybe I was too jet lagged the one time that I was there.

I have only been for a short time but I really liked it. But DM isn't that keen, and doesn't like Vegas either so I'm not sure we are related!

That's exciting, I look forward to hearing how much you enjoy this trip!

I am very excited too! I love Italy, they have some many designers and shoes and shiny sparkly things....oh and DF is going to be there too. Guess that's exciting too...:rotfl:

I have never been energetic enough yet for rope drop, and have been too tired or cold to stay for The Kiss Goodnight. I'm hoping perhaps on my next trip.

Mornings are just too darn early for me. I think I will plan for one day to sleep all day then get up for the Kiss Goodnight, stay up the rest of the night then hit rope drop...then go back to bed! Sound like a plan? :lmao:

Totally - Dis podcasts are wonderful to listen to at night, ha ha.

I haven't listened to the pod-casts before I must check them out.

Um, GORGEOUS! Congratulations!!!
Well....

3732654_orig.gif

:rotfl2:

I am currently stuck on where to eat with DH on Magic Kingdom day as well. Hmmm, I'll need to do some research I guess.

They do need some more food choices at MK in my opinion. I do usually just end up eating popcorn and ice cream :rolleyes1

Sorry to hear that. We had a sheltie that also passed away from cancer; it's sad but I'm sure Mr. T. had a great life being part of your family.

Aw sorry to hear about your sheltie, DM had a sheltie as her first dog when she was a child and loves them. They do get into your heart don't they?

Ice cream - daily requirement, for sure!

:thumbsup2

post-11327-I-have-done-nothing-productive-2yml-1.gif

So I have had a super productive day, as you can probably tell :rolleyes2

I was going to try and catch up on all the TRs and PTRs I am behind on but I may have been distracted by shiny things....and shoes! :rolleyes1

Good job my boss loves me! :rotfl:

Anyway I did do some planning which is semi productive!

Also I have been packing for my work trip to Scotland this weekend. Then I'm off to Spain for a wedding.
Right now my house looks like a bomb has just gone off...well...more so than usual anyway! :lmao: DF is the tidy one! :rotfl2:

So the planning I did today was the tours DM and I want to do. I already mentioned the Night Safari (so longs as the stupid Avatar rubbish hasn't messed it up :furious:) But DM also wants to do the Wild Africa Trek, which looks super cool. I haven't decided which day to plan this in for but clearly we will do it while we are staying at AKL because I like to be efficient! ;)

DM really wants to do the Behind The Seeds Tour.

Now I do love me some Living with the Land but I'm not that big on gardening type stuff which DM loves! So that one is for her!

Also at Epcot she wants to do Dolphins In Depth which I am very much OkAy with. I'm such a good daughter ::yes:: :lmao:

But now she wants to do the Seas Aqua Tour which means my worst nightmare.....snorkelling!
:scared1:

clue.gif
I cannot snorkel to save my life....which obvious it wouldn't! :lmao:

But again she really wants to do it so I guess we are going snorkelling in the Seas!

Just as FYI if this never turns into a TR you will know why. Clearly I will have drowned in the Seas! :rotfl:

We aren't doing that fancy dive thing pkondz did because we aren't scuba divers :sad2:, my brother is but we aren't that good being that far underwater! Besides we are crazy enough as it is without risking the bends....:rolleyes1

So there endeth the tour portion of our plans!

DM has never done all tours at Disney before, I have only ever done one and that was the Backstage Magic tour that I did with my father and stepmother in 2006.
Now I did find it quite fascinating but at the time it wasn't the way I would have chosen to spend 7 hours in WDW! You see they asked me what I wanted to do either this tour or see Cirque du Soleil which I adore. So I picked Cirque...well that was just tough :rolleyes2 They went with this anyway!
On the tour we did get to see some really interesting sites...like where they keep the Christmas decorations...and were they get their flowers...and my personal favourite where they keep the broken stuff from rides and such! :lmao:
They actual best part was seeing the costume department and the utilidors at MK, that was very cool. But I think the Keys To The Kingdom might have been more my thing....I didn't love missing Cirque and a whole park day for that tour!
But reading the description of it now it sounds so much better....hmmm...well darn! Now I want to do it again! :rotfl:

Well I think that was sufficiently rambling enough, right?

166.gif

Oh good! JLaw approves!
:wave2:

Lu. Globe trotter extraordinaire!

Efficient. Just not tidy.

But again she really wants to do it so I guess we are going snorkelling in the Seas!

Interested to see how you manage and how you like it.

Just as FYI if this never turns into a TR you will know why. Clearly I will have drowned in the Seas! :rotfl:

Do you have a will?
Do you have anything a Canadian lad might like?

You know. Just for information.
No reason.

You see they asked me what I wanted to do either this tour or see Cirque du Soleil which I adore. So I picked Cirque...well that was just tough :rolleyes2 They went with this anyway!

"If she picks the tour we'll tell her it was her choice. If she picks Cirque, we'll tell her no."

Well I think that was sufficiently rambling enough, right?

Needed more vowels.

How awesome that you can just jet off to Spain for a wedding...sigh...I know...you have to be further from WDW...but still to be so close to all of Europe would be so cool! I really want to do the Behind the Seeds tour as well...but not sure if it would bore my DD (age 9)...

That's a lot of tours. I wanted to do Behind the Seeds but I didn't think the boys would like it. Can't wait to hear about it if you don't drown in the seas.
Your Clue gif had me looking for gifs from my favorite moments in that movie. I don't have time for this!! :rotfl2:

Okay I know that I told you all before that I won't be posting any photos of DBF who is now DF (that is crazy!) but I found a loop hole!! :tiptoe: Sneaky!

*EDIT*

Apparently it does count!

sadface-gif.95048

Oh well! :rotfl:
You will just have to use you imaginations again! :rolleyes2
(I really love my ring so I won't rock the boat! :rolleyes1)

Oooh that would have been super slick if you had pulled that off ::yes:: But you're right, don't rock the boat.

Now this was out of the blue for both of us as DF had planned to propose in Italy...in August! :lmao:
But during a heated debate (on the British General Election of all things) he blurted out that I was just too ridiculous and he guessed he would just have to marry me! :scared1: Err..what??

I thought he was just being a noodle until he disappeared into the study and reappeared with a ring box! He got down on one knee and said
"You are the strangest, craziest person I have ever met and even though you drive me nuts I want to spend the rest of my life being crazy with you."
You guys it was the most romantic thing anybody has ever said to me!

So I said no.

Just kidding!

OH MY GOSH! I actually love this! Think about it. During your debate, it was right then and there he was like, "Yep, this is definitely the one. PJ's and all!":cloud9::love:

But as this all happened first thing this morning...whilst still in my PJs...we are going to do a re-propsal in Italy for actually photos cause lets be honest no one wants to see photos of me make up free in my PJs!:rotfl::rotfl:

Although, this works perfectly too! :rotfl2:

He gets home and tells me that actually now he is going to have to be in London for most of May and part of June :scared1:

Oh poop. That really, really sucks. DH and I were in a long(ish) distance relationship for three years. We were three hours apart and it was so not fun.

So this week was the start of his time in London so as a good fiancée I decided to go with him to settle him in to his new apartment. It had nothing to down with the fact I could go shopping on Oxford Street...Nothing at all...

Priorities.

I lied and told him I was upset that they didn't have the beautiful Jimmy Choo shoes that were on sale in my size. :rolleyes2

If you insist Ryan. If you insist!

Well hello Ryan! :hyper:

7DMT (at night preferably cause that's apparently the best time to go on according to DisneyKid4Life)

I've heard it's amazing at night for sure!

Now I haven't included Splash cause a. You only get three and b. I don't mind the queue for Splash so it's all good!

and c. you have like 90 days to attempt Splash

So this weekend wasn't the greatest.

On Saturday one of my fur babies, Tazer, passed away from cancer. He was 10 which is a good age for a Rottie and with his diagnosis it wasn't a total surprise but it was still so so heartbreaking.

img_0003-jpg.97317

Oh my gosh, Lu i'm so so sorry.:sad1::sad2:

I almost lost it with this one:sad1: He looked like such a sweetheart.

pb060422-jpg.97338

That's DM head there :thumbsup2 Photography skills!

Nailed it:thumbsup2

Some of them (the dads) looked pretty much suicidal by the time we finally moved

I'm pretty sure they looked like that as they stepped into the queue:rotfl2:

This is when we decided to cut through New Fanstasyland and see it in its lit up glory. As we we through there was some commotion on the bridge outside the Beast's castle, and as we are really noise we decided to check it out! As it turned out the hullabaloo was because they were doing a BOG soft opening :scared1:

We didn't think the would be any hope of getting a reservation but if you don't ask you don't get so up to the very hassled CM we go and then she said "we can get you in at 5pm."
:earseek:

That is awesome!

Vegetables! :lmao:

81779-clueless-ugh-as-if-gif-2qy3-gif.98172

Ice cream of course (and popcorn popcorn::)
We grabbed a Mickey Ice Cream sandwich (no Premium bars for us thank you :snooty:) and sat in the limited sun!

:laughing::lmao:

By this point we were pretty impatient to get into BOG so we hopped it back to New (or not quite as new now) Fantasyland and took some photos to pass the time.

At which point does it become just 'Fantasyland' and not 'New Fantasyland'??? Like, are we still going to be calling it NFL 5 years from now? :confused3 So much to ponder so late at night :scratchin

Ariel was also having her soft opening (sounds kinky ;)...sorry...) s

:rotfl::rotfl2:

img_1057-jpg.98180

She wanted me to point out where her other ride was in Hollywood Studios! As she missed her old home :lmao:

This is too cute!

Then it was finally time to go in! We were seated in the West Wing which was very cool, if not a little dark. But I loved when the lighting stuck and the painting changed! That was amazing.

This room made me feel super old. I was complaining about not being able to see cause it was too dark. Then I realized I was becoming a bitter old lady :rotfl2:
We skipped dessert, :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:, and before our waitress came with the bill she brought us Grey Stuff!! Fo Free! :worship:

pb070433-jpg.98179

Woot woot! Free will always be good!

I took a photo of the empty Rose Room. I still don't get why they only use this room for lunch :confused3

Spoiler alert: I ate in here for Dinner in January:ssst:

pb070444-jpg.98188

And of course the obligatory no pants Adam shot! :lmao:

I laughed and showed DH cause I really never thought about it and he, very matter-of-factly stated, "Uh, those are skin colored tights" and then went right back to his video game, never missing a beat. Kind of frightens me :rotfl2:

Also I have been packing for my work trip to Scotland this weekend. Then I'm off to Spain for a wedding.

Uh, can I work where you work?! And have friends that get married in Spain?!

But now she wants to do the Seas Aqua Tour which means my worst nightmare.....snorkelling!

Alright. I figured out what you should do. It may be embarrassing but it will work. Buy a cheap snorkel set and try it out in your tub. And then take pictures to show us that you practiced. Not to laugh at you but so we can critique your form and all.
Take pics for all of us armchair world travelers! :lmao:

Yeah fo reals!

That's good. I love those.
Those are the days I do my best work! :rotfl2:

Yeah pretty much! It would have just been easier if they said "hey we're doing this tour!" cause I really wanted to see Cirque

Needed more vowels.

Even though I live close to Europe I don't really go much! This is my first trip to Spain and other than that I have only ever been to Italy and France! Oops! :lmao:Most of my vacations are to WDW or the USA!

That's a lot of tours. I wanted to do Behind the Seeds but I didn't think the boys would like it. Can't wait to hear about it if you don't drown in the seas.

oui.

I'm behind everywhere (including my own TR).

You have a lot of tours you want to do. I really want to do the Wild Trek and hope to do it in 2016. Mark wanted to lose more weight before he did it and he now has, but we decided this year to do the Dolphins in Depth tour. I'm really looking forward to it.

If I don't get back here, enjoy your trips to Scotland and Spain.
