Combining new tickets with old ones in MDE?

We have several tickets with days still on them from years ago and were hoping to combine them with new tickets so we don't have to spend as much this year. (We checked them on a previous trip.) The complicating issue is that one is a child ticket and both kids are now "Disney adults". Can this be done at home or do we need to do that at Disney? If any of the (Magic Your Way) tickets have never been used, they can be upgraded, but only in-person at WDW.

If any of the adult tickets are partially-used (older non-expiring tickets,) they cannot be upgraded or altered, but can be used, as-is.

Any "child's" ticket that has been partially-used (older non-expiring tickets,) can be exchanged,
free-of-charge, to an "adult" ticket with the same remaining assets, by taking the ticket and the (former) child to any ticket booth or Guest Relations.

Any valid ticket can be listed in your MDE account and advance FP+ can be made
with them. Once you get to WDW, you can do any upgrading of individual tickets
and still keep the advance FP+ you made, even if you are no longer planning to
actually use each and every ticket (during this trip) that you have listed in your MDE account.
