We are booked! It all feels like a bit of a whirlwind. We couldn't book until we found out whether DD had her International Exchange Program extended - fortunately she did.

We leave NZ on Friday Oct 30 - arriving into Orlando the same day. DD has us booked at POR using her CM discount (she will be staying with us)30 Oct/14 Nov - we have a princess room.:)
At the moment we are planning on attending MNSSHP 1/11 & MVMCP 8/11. As there is a run Disney event on 7 Nov we thought we'd head over to Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure that weekend.

The only dining reservation I've made is for Be Our Guest (I really want to see the castle - it was still behind walls in 2012) I may make some others but I'm not too worried as I'm happy with QS meals. Being at POR I like the fact that it's just a boat ride to DTD. Last time DD & I stayed at one of the DTD hotels, we found it so handy to walk over to DTD for meals.

We have timed this trip to coincide with Halloween & the change over to Christmas decorations. Christmas is my favourite time of year & I have always wanted to experience a Disney Christmas.

The only thing left to book is a cruise. We are hoping to book though DD. Unfortunately the CM discounts are only released around six weeks prior to sailing. But I'm not too concerned if the cruise doesn't work out - we have other options for our last week.

Has anyone else travelled in November? I'd really an idea of how warm or cool it will be.

Anyone visiting Magic Kingdom - say hello to the Kiwi from Christchurch working in the Space Mountain gift shop. She loves talking to Kiwis & Aussies - they can understand her accent.:rotfl2:

Sounds exciting-lucky you (and her!) We were there last few days of October last year & previously Dec. Oct was warm in the day. Plenty of people swimming. Some days if we hadn't been so busy I might have ventured a swim too as the pools are heated. We had a couple of hot days & mostly warm. Dec we had a mix of warm & cold. Oct I mostly wore T's and shorts by day. I needed a sweatshirt at night and pretty sure I often changed into jeans too. A week later a cold snap blew in as I had friends there who had a few very cold days; we got snow further inland, so you never know. I'd take mostly shorts/capri length & a pair of jeans and a polo fleece to cover both scenarios.

Thanks Aussie Wendy that's a great help.
Yep Crazy cat lady I will be visiting the outlet stores - a lot! I deliberately booked with an airline that has a 2 bag baggage allowance. Although we have to sacrifice 1 bag to bring some stuff home for DD.

Hi I travelled there in early nov 2014. we had great weather and it was warmish, the days were about 25 and the nights about 15. On our last day we went to universal and it was stifling humid but that's because there was a massive storm after lunch and rained quite hard for the rest of the day. Best advice I can give is take a light jacket and pack it and also buy up on $2 rain ponchos to keep at the ready too! They were awesome to pull out when we needed them as they are about $10-15 in the park and if you get coloured ones for your family then you stand out in the crowd

We were at WDW 2 years ago at almost the exact timing you are going to. We went to MNSSHP on Halloween itself. The weather we had was great, always shorts and tshirt for me. Same for wife and son with maybe a light jacket for the morning or later evenings. If you have a look at my trip report that's in my signature (WDW starts midway page 2) you will see in the photos that most people are in shorts and tshirts, some jeans but not many jumpers/long sleeves around. That said, I particularly remember one day at Epcot which definitely turned cooler in the afternoon and we have to buy a jacket for my wife & son as we were staying into the evening. While I cant remember specifically, i would say the temps were mid low - mid 20s.

Have a great trip!

Hi Kiwifan, how exciting your trip sounds! How is your daughter enjoying the international program? We are in Chch too and my son is planning on applying for it in a couple of years- he is still at high school at present!
We are keen on the family discounts CMs get!
This is my first post in ages as we haven't had any Dis trips planned for a while. Our last was in 2013 when we went to WDW in May, which was already very hot and humid-Nov sounds a lot more sensible!
We have done several DL trips, including a Halloween one, but have never done a Disney Xmas, which is probably goong to be next on our list.
Look forward to hearing about your trip!
