ED92 - Live Were lucky enough to attend one of the three Disneyland Paris Cast Member preview shows of the Frozen Sing Along show that were held today, and here is their review.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today, Wednesday May 27 was the soft opening of the Frozen singalong show for Disneyland Paris Cast members. We were lucky enough to attend one of the three shows and wanted to share our experience with you ! (Please note soft openings may not be the final version of the show, as adjustments and corrections can still be made before the official premiere).

First of all, the theming of the area is very light. Despite the fact that the Arendelle Market area is not yet open, we have the feeling that the set designers focused on the show more than the settings for this area. There are Frozenbanners (in the same style as the St David or St Patrick ones) and (real) pine trees. An effort was made on the bins as they are decorated with the now famous Frozen 'Rosemaling' designs. The suspended sign for Thunder Mesa had a few modifications and the letters are now sky blue and white. However the Arendelle market should save the area with great design for a Frontierland area that has long been forgotten by guests most of the year.

At the Chaparral Theater, it's a whole other level ! As soon as you enter the room you are transported to the magical world of Anna and Elsa.

- The themed backgrounds for the walls are beautiful and and help see the screens better.

- Actually, let's talk about those screens ! There are three and they are setup in a way that every single guest can see without hurting their neck. To give you an idea, they are about the same size as the 4x3 billboards you can find on the side of the roads in most cities. The middle one is particularly impressive because it has the ability to 'retract' upwards in order to leave the stage to the performers.

- Performers are very active and move around brilliantly on the frosty set. The entire stage is used and they are moving permanently to satisfy everyone.

- If the 'icicles' look a bit plastic, the rocks and trees are very well done ! Their colors adapt with the lighting variations while looking realistic.

- The special effects are very well done ! A real positive. The Co2 smoke blasts take everyone by surprise the first time. The lights are all new and offer real transformations due to the relative darkness of the theater (with its new liners). All the technical equipment is well dissimulated to let the magic take central stage.

- The show itself is quite good. If the first seconds (or minutes) are a bit long, the characters entrance give a boost to the show. The video clips from the film take us right into the Frozen universe. Song lyrics are transcribed on each screen. When people get into it it is very fun and can reveal secret talents in the audience ! Olaf's entrance is very well received and he is making everyone laugh throughout.

- Language is not a problem for the show. In the French version (language depends on show times), the songs are in French with French subtitles on the central screen and English/Spanish ones for the side screens. In the English version, the songs are in English with English subtitles on the central screen, and French/Spanish on the side screens.

- One last thing: the characters look for most part a lot like the film, which is great news. Anna and Elsa are amazing and make us forget any criticism heard about the Princess Pavilion. One side note: the 'unknown' added characters who are not in the film don't really bring much to the show and are a bit forgettable. it is however a good thing for the number of performers on stage for the show.

I'm glad this show is presented in English as well.. I can't wait to see it! :) And sing!

Do you need a FastPass or some other way to reserve your place? Or do you just show up in time for the show? How far in advance do you recommend to get in line?

It's brand new from 1st June GrandBob so it isn't yet clear how it will work. It is likely to be very popular as anything Frozen has been in DLP but the it's still impossible to predict just how popular.

This sounds good - I should imagine it's going to be very popular but the theatre can seat more than 1000+ :)

Thanks for posting! I'm very excited to see the show so I'm delighted to hear a good report.
