Disney Trip Planning using OneNote or EverNote? Paperless Unite!

I love the binder thread!!! And would love to make one but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully used OneNote or EverNote for trip planning? Digital is more my style

I think I'm going the OneNote route because then the smart phone people in my family will have access to the information as well. Plus it's less to carry to the parks. :woohoo: I always have my phone along with the teen in the family. DH is not as reliable about that on vacation.

I also have our dinning plans scheduled into our family calendar with reminders about 1-1.5 hours out.

And I'll keep a small folder in our room for the paper stuff we need to keep or that can't be scanned. :thumbsup2

hmmm, I think I need to get to work! :mickeyjum

I'm with you on going paperless. I switched last year to almost all paperless. I use Google Drive and share the information with those I need to and make it available offline to. I have a Nexus 7 so I am just learning to use EverNote and have just started to use OneNote at work.

I have a comfort level with Google Drive because I can still create my spreadsheets and day by day itineraries pretty easily along with having links to the menus of the restaurants I picked out for us to eat at so we can get an idea of what to eat. Plus now, I can re-use some of my documents from year for our upcoming trip. Have fun planning :)

I always use Evernote for planning trips. I keep a packing list, ADRs, a calendar with park hours, etc. in a folder. I also use Evernote to store my planning info. as a keepsake after the trip. Sometimes I'll scan paper souvenirs or other memorabilia into the app in rather than save them and clutter up another drawer.

Hmmmm. My standard Excel workbook suddenly needs improving. I have the feeling you just gave me a project for this weekend :) I'm an Evernote junkie, so maybe I need to move my Disney planning over with everything else!

I use more of a blended approach. I use MS OneNote for planning and storing research items (for both Disney and non-Disney vacations). Once everything is planned out and reservations are made, I put the schedule into an excel worksheet. I will then print out the excel schedule to take with us.

I love working in One Note for holidays and everything else ... I'm doing this for the holiday I hope to have in August.

I love, love, love Evernote! We are going in December so this gives me plenty of time to get a system set up. Yeah! :flower1:

If anyone develops a system they would like to share, i'm all ears. :earboy2:

In addition to forwarding all my vacation emails (room and dining reservations, etc.) into a WDW Vacation folder, I also make a note with a table that I use as a calendar. I fill it with all my info. so that it's essentially a quick reference guide for the whole vacation. For example, it put the park hours, plans for the day (including Fast Passes and dining reservations), times for the nighttime shows, little reminders, etc.

Love it! I mainly use Evernote for my home biz but it would translate so nicely to vacation planning.

Disney planning is a joint effort between hubby & i and he just converted to a Smartphone 6 months ago so I am not hopeful he will convert to Evernote anytime soon. :joker:

For us, planning the trip is a good portion of the fun. We have been accumulating 1% cash back on our Disney credit card for the last 2.5 years (since last trip) and have now switched to a SW Airlines cc to save up for our airline tickets. The one we chose adds up quick!

We're doing a road trip soon. I will plan that and use Evernote for it. I love the idea of having a central place for emails (versus a tag in gmail) and the all important reminders set up to keep me on track.

Maybe in a couple of years for the next trip hubby wil be ready for Evernote. At this point he doesn't even use a Kindle yet. Ha! I have been using one nearly since they came out.

Digital is waaay better. Can't wait to try the fast pass. They implemented shortly after our last trip.

Yeah for Disney going even more digital!

I've been using Google Drive for this trip (can do docs and spreadsheets). I've shared the folder with the rest of my family and we can all access it from any where...

I have been using TripIt, and it works wonderfully. Stores everything, tons of options for transportation, reservations, dining, special events. Can upload pictures. etc. Additionally, anyone in your party with a smart phone can be connected to your account and be able to refine plans as well. This, in addition to MDE, works wonderfully for us!

I'm more comfortable with Google drive but my husband is an Evernote junkie so I'll probably start putting things into there. It might make him want to help plan! He gets that glossed over look anytime I mention the trip.

I am with you with Excel but I take it 1 step further and download it to my phone as well as sharing that doc with the other 2 families going with us. I have a backup in a folder in the room in case of tech problems.

I keep everything in a folder on OneDrive, which allows me to share with people when the time comes. Every e-mail is sorted as well, and important ones get converted to PDF and put into that folder. I can sync it for offline access (which I do before the trip) and can access my Excel sheets and Word docs anywhere. I have, right now, five events managed like this. The really critical stuff I also print, stick in a folder and into the top of my carry-on, but that's usually under 5 sheets of paper.
