I am confused. How did someone get CBR for $83/night? I have a fd trip coming up and booked a standard room 2 days before fd starts. The standard room cost me $149/night and that was with the summer discount.

They explained it a few pages back. They were originally booked into a preferred water view room and downgraded to standard, so it was just $83 to add on a day because of the price discount.

MmmSuite I was the one who posted! :) It cost $83. more because I downgraded from pool/lakeview to standard. Go ahead and jump the gun, the only problem you will have is trying to figure out how to get their earlier then you intended, LOL. At first I was going after work, then I was figuring out how to get out a little earlier. Now I am hoping to get DD out of school earlier.

Just an FYI you can no longer take days off reservations so this wouldn't work either. Now they will only allow you to drop days if an entire new reservation is available. This change has been discussed elsewhere and is fairly new.
We ran into this a couple of weeks ago. In the past, I always booked all possible days and then dropped some if necessary. It was always easier than trying to add a day or two, later.

I originally booked our Christmas trip for this year 12/19-12/28. I knew DH had to work on 12/21, so I figured I'd head down early with the kids. Southwest released flights and had a late flight that we could all take together on 12/21. I was in a panic because I heard about the new policy after the fact. It was a few tense days before I was finally able to drop the days.

I was able to drop the first 2 nights off of 4 reservations during free dining just last night. I also switched resorts.

Since you switched resorts that was a new reservation and that hotel had availability. It has been talked about extensively on this site people who just want to drop a date can't unless all the dates are available for a new reservation.

OMG How did I not know about Monkey Cupcakes! Im shocked! Im sooo going to have one ( or three) this time around!! Sadly we had to shorten our trip by one day this year and only going 6 nights now but hey! at least were going for 6 nights right! Every year we make the long drive from Houston to Orlando but last week we scored really great flights into Tampa so Im really looking forward to the 2 hr flight instead of the 16 hour drive. Our dates are now Aug 17th to 23rd. Monkey cupcake here I comeeeeeeeeeee!

We didn't get our room request the first week of May but not sure if it was due to a 10.5 hour delay in our flight or because of all the dance teams. I was so mad at the CM who checked us in. He was trying sooo hard to get us to laugh. After he would look at the computer then me smile and did that like 5 times, I got excited thinking I got my birthday surprise. Then he told me nope. But you got building 12!!!!! 12&13 are two of the furthest buildings from the food court. At least I got some pixie dust in the parks and at the DVC open house. The grounds are so pretty at CBR, I will miss that the most.

Chocolate please :) I am TOTALLY getting one of these things the minute we arrive!

Lisa, what camera do you use for your posted pics? I am conflicted. I have NEVER gone to any disney park (heck, i rarely leave my house) without my big 35 mm dSLR Canon. It takes superb pictures.......but quite frankly, it is bulky. And it's biggish. And did I mention it gave me tennis elbow? So while I want fantastic pictures, I'm keen on taking a relaxing twist on this coming vacation. I DO have a point and shoot Canon. It zooms. It isn't my preference. I'm trying to talk myself out of taking my dSLR. So, what camera do you, or anyone else here for that matter, take to WDW? We recently returned from a 3.5 week European vacation and I was SHOCKED at how good people's cell phone pictures looked!

The pics that I am posting here are from my iPhone. I have a water proof Fuji that I take to the water parks. My other camera is just a point and shoot

How is the a/c in the rooms at CBR? Sometimes during the night the a/c won't stay really cool. We like it cold when we sleep. Does the thermostat let you keep it cool all night?

While I wasn't in love with this resort, my son keeps asking to go back to the pirate room. So now I am trying to figure out when we can go back!

Some friends just returned and were happy to report they were able to keep the room ice cold all night.

We have had no issues with the air conditioning. We have it set on either sixty eight or seventy and it has kept the room cool all evening and night.

May I ask how you submitted your room request? Was it by fax, phone, online check-in, etc.?

The hotel originally booked also had availability and we changed all 4 ressies to new dates. The following day we opted to switch resorts so I called back in to make the additional change. I have not noticed an extensive discussion on this topic but will look now I guess since I seem to be a lucky one? Not sure but I am glad I was able to just make a change and not rebook.

Just looked for a discussion on needing to cancel and rebook etc and can't find anything...could someone give me a link to read about it? I am curious now..thanks!

I'm having the same debate about my DSLR vs my iPhone, which takes really good pictures.

I have no idea when it was discussed, but I did see it discussed by a few over on the free dining thread.
