Frozen Makeover - Hair questions

I'm thinking of booking the Frozen Makeover in DTD for my three and five year old in August. My three year old has long hair, but my five year old recently wanted hers cut to shoulder length. How long does the hair need to be for the Elsa style? I'd hate to go only to have to tell her she can't get it done. We could go another time when her hair is longer instead.

Nothing to worry about because a wig is fitted by the Frozen stylists.
This styling salon is totally Frozen themed and is for ages 3 to 15 years of age only. The basic package is $35.00 and does not include a gown or dress. Those are $70.00. Frozen dresses are currently on sale at Disney store.com and most likely as well at the Disney stores.

The style is done with the girl's hair, not a wig. She should be fine with shoulder length hair. The Elsa is a great style. My daughter's lasted four days.

They do put a clip with a small strip of colored "hair" in, but I haven't seen them put wigs on any of the kids when I have been in there.

You can buy a wig from the shop and have it placed on the child. We went to DL the week after Frozen came out, and we hadn't seen the movie yet. I remember seeing a little girl in full Elsa garb w/ wig. It's cute, but I wouldn't be I interested in bringing home a 'pelt.' I would not worry about the hair length. They let your child choose different styles and whatnot. I think my kid got a pink pompadour once! But I swear I still saw glitter on her scalp for months afterwards...

We did the Anna & Elsa Boutique in October shortly after it opened. So things may have changed but I don't think so since I saw girls with the same look when we were there last in April. For the Elsa style they do kind of a side french braid with half of the hair that goes across the top of the head. If there's enough hair they sweep the rest to the side with the braid and do a bun with an attached colored hair extension. So if hair is not long enough they leave it down. I can't remember what the Anna style is - my older daughter dressed as Anna but she chose the other style they have available which is kind of twists that are pulled into a top knot bun. She has shorter hair and they worked with it just fine. The stylists will make any length of hair work and everyone I've seen always leaves looking fancy and well done. My girls loved it! We arrived already in our Elsa & Anna costumes then went to Mickey's Halloween Party. Loved it!

Kind of hard to see hairstyles but you can get an idea of the cuteness!

PS My Anna's crown is one we brought in - they're happy to work them into the hairstyle. My Elsa's crown is one you can purchase there.

It is right at her shoulders or below her shoulders? We did it after they started the Anna and Elsa hairstyles, but just before they formally made the changeover from Studio 365 to the Anna and Elsa boutique. DD had just cut her long hair off to shoulder length where it touched, but was not much, if at all, below her shoulders. She was dressed in her Anna coronation dress. She was told her hair was too short for either the Anna or Elsa hairstyles. We asked if they could just do the front part and then leave the back in the ponytail they pull it into as they do the style if it was too short for the stylist to get it into the full Anna or Elsa bun in the back, and were told no. If they could not do the full hairstyle by finishing the bun in the exact manner it was meant to be, they would not do any part of it. They offered DD the hairstyle they now call the "cool as ice" hairstyle which is the same as the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique courtyard package hairstyle (where they make the tight horizontal rows of hair all around the head with the rest pulled back into a very tight ponytail with a couple of strips of colored hair like pink and purple stuck in). DD had previously done that hairstyle at the BBB and absolutely hated it as it was too tight and hurt her head. At that point, they still had the option for some of the other Studio 365 hairstyles and one of the stylists came up and said she could do the bow hairstyle on DD- so we did that and DD absolutely loved it. Since becoming the A&E boutique I think they have gotten rid of all of the other cute hairstyles and are limited to 4 - Anna, Elsa, Olaf (another bun style) and the Cool as Ice. I will say that although they told us no, I have since seen pictures on here of girls with hair about the length that DD's hair was that have gotten the Anna and Elsa hairstyles, so maybe they have gotten better at doing it, or are now able to modify the bun a little, with hair that is not as long?

We definitely don't want the wig. She'll want her actual hair done, like in the pictures linked on the Disney site.

Ktlm- that's my worry. And it would really ruin the experience for her if they said they couldn't do anything. I don't think she would like the braid and ponytail- I know I don't! Her hair just touches her shoulders right now. It grows fast, but I can't imagine it will be more than maybe an inch or so longer by August. It sounds like it's really random on if they will be accommodating or not, and that leaves the potential for disappointment.
