Our first stay at Fort Wilderness Cabins, We leave Saturday 6/20!

So here is what our schedule looks like. My wife managed to get Fast Passes for Anna and Elsa, so my littlest will be very happy.

Sun - Arrive / Magic Kingdom( just because)
Mon - Magic Kingdom - morning - Last FP at 10:40 am. Will see how kids and my mother are doing. Evening, Wife and I at DHS, and my mother and kids at the cabin
Tues - Water Park and Animal Kingdom in the afternoon
Wednesday - Ohana for brunch(breakfast) @ 10:15, Maybe Water Park or Epcot (FP at Epcot)
Thursday - DHS morning, Not sure on evening
Friday - Magic Kingdom (Anna and Elsa Fast pass at 11:20 :) ) Depending on how everyone is doing, the wife and I might do Epcot late
Saturday - Check Out <sigh> / Magic Kingdom, and on the road by 3pm or so.

Looks so small typed out like that, but a ton of fun will be packed into that time.

We are telling my daughters today, as we want them to get some stuff, and be able to talk with them about what we are doing, and what they want to do as well.

Also, thanks everyone for all the information. Feel free to add suggestions if anyone has anymore.

Have stayed in 2600 and 2400 both were good and quiet- like your schedule as well.

Thanks All.
We told the kids yesterday, and boy are they excited. My oldest now wants to color coordinate between the adults and kids. So if I am 'teamed' up with my oldest, she would wear the same color as I would. She also wanted to start packing last night.
We got them all settled down, and now they are eagerly awaiting the end of school, so they can focus on going to Disney.

We stayed at 2100. You can cut thru the 1100 camper loop and it's a quick walk to the main pool and campfire area. We found the FW internal buses to be very quick.

We stayed in the 2800 loop last June and found it to be very remote and quiet. Have you considered driving your vehicle to the parks etc. instead of using the Disney busses? Our most favorite thing about the cabin was being able to park right outside the door every night. No dragging stuff across a parking lot or from a bus stop after a long day. It was literally 10 steps from the vehicle to the bed.

That's a double edge sword though. Dragging from the Car to the cabin is nice, but that means at the park, you have to drag your stuff from the park (past the buses) to your car. If you were lucky to get a close parking spot, you might be lucky. I certainly, however understand the convenience though. On the buses at the end of the day, they tend to get crowded, and then you have to jockey for a seat, etc...

We usually take the boat/bus from MK to FW but if we go to AK we drive we also drove to HS. I think when we went to Epcot, we took the bus. I guess it's nice to have options.

We just stayed in the 2100 loop with 3 adults and 2 kids. My mom and I got up early and used the comfort stations to take showers so when the kids woke up we would be ready to go. We had a golf cart but the bus stop was right across the road. Enjoy. We loved the cabins and campground so much we won't stay anywhere else for a long time.

I would suggest 2100 as well. Since you don't have a golf cart, it is the closest to the Meadow complex and within walking distance.

Another option is to write a letter and request loop 100. We did this two years ago. They have two cabins in loop 100 and the location is ideal.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I did the online check in and asked for the two loops that everyone suggested. We shall see what I get. :)
Also, Magic Bands shipped and we should get them today, but there was something unique. It lists all the magic bands except for mine. It is my wife's Disney account that we used, and my account is linked to my wife's account. It shows my mother's band, but she did not have a Disney account.

I checked my Disney account, and it lists no Magic Band. However, the reservation has the correct number of adults and kids, and my name was there when we were customizing them as well. So I guess I will find out tonight if something went hinky and my band was not sent. No worries, as we still have three plus weeks until we get there.

@RMColosimo I think for reasons like this, I let my DW handle it and I just log into her MDE account. It's much easier this way. (at least for us).

Yup, I actually log into her account to do the online check in, etc. And don't use mine, so I hope it is all okay. I am still listed in the list of guests, just not my magic band ID. I am guessing this is because I am an adult with a seperate account. I tried to link the reservation to my account, but I can not since the reservation is linked to my wife's account.

<shrug> Not worried, but it will worry my kids if I am not listed in the box of bands. But certinly not something I am going to worry about, as we have plenty of time to fix(if we have too) and I trust Disney on this.

But I am going to delete my account after this, and just use my wife's account from now on. :)

Things just got real. :jester:
We received the magic bands yesterday. All of them were included. Two boxes, one with 4 and one with 2.

The kids are now bouncing off the walls with excitement. (I am including myself in that as well.)

I am jealous.

Funny thing is, I enjoy myself at WDW on all my previous trips. About 2 months (or so) ago, DW wanted to plan another trip. She scheduled it for June of 2016. I don't know why, but it hit me and I was so excited about going on this trip. I was like a "Giddy" little kid. Now a short time ago she ended up also scheduling a Trip in November of 2015 with the Free Dining Plan. This will be the "Budget" trip, but still just as exciting. We won't be at the Fort :( but We are planning on at least a meal over at Trails End at some point. We really like it there. The food is good and the people were awesome.

Does the Trails End require an ADR? Wondering if we might go there one night/afternoon. But I am doubting I can get an ADR at this late date.

You can usually get a table at trail's end, but I make a reservation anyway. Breakfast and the buffet dinner are very good, lunch is a limited menu and no fried chicken, which is outstanding. I always get and ADR and you should be able to get one even at this late date. Trails End is a hidden gem, and because it's a bit difficult to get to, it's not in high demand for ADRs.

You can also get breakfast and dinner to go and either go back to your cabin to eat, or eat at one of the tables near the restaurant.

What Mary2E said. You don't need ADRs but it's a good Idea to have them anyway. It truly is a "Hidden Gem" and their dinner buffet is a nice spread that should allow most picky eaters to find something.

If it's during busy season or free dining time you absolutely need a reservation.

Thanks everyone! I am talking about it with the wife. We are doing two ADR's. One at Ohana for breakfast with the entire family. And then one at..don't laugh, it is one of the places we ate at our honeymoon, so wanted to eat there again.. Planet Hollywood. But I think that Trails End might get a look from us one night as well.

The wife and I went to Disney in Aug, 2000 for our honeymoon. We stayed at what was called the 'Institute at Disney', I think it is a DVC place now. So we are bringing the entire family, but we were both trying to secretly get us both to revisit some of our honeymoon spots. I think my mother, who was being drawn into both our attempts, was laughing her butt off. Finally, my wife caved and just told me what she was doing, and I laughed because I was doing the same. :)

So we settled on a late night meal at Planet Hollywood. Tony's Town Square was the other place we ate at a ton on our honeymoon, but my wife has developed some very bad allergies, so the Italian food is almost always out. No dairy, chicken, and a ton of others for her.

So, other than buying some 'honeymoon' (Bride and Groom) mouse ears for my wife, we are supposed to downplay the gift buying this trip.

Well down to 2 weeks until we leave for vacation at the Fort.
My wife is trying to get everything together, and we have started all the preparations for our drive down. I have a ton of Disney movies set-up to be loaded onto the kids Ipads, we have the DVD's as well, and I am getting all the power items taken care of.
Our van is a 2014, so it is new with only 10k miles on it, so we had an oil change, but not worried about anything else.
I have bought Rainex, and will apply that this weekend, or later next week. I am also going to upgrade the windshield wipers to better ones. the ones we have are the factory ones, and they are okay, but they leave streaks on the window. The Rainex might help, so maybe once I put the rainex on the wipers will be fine.

We are getting the cooler out and making sure we have a menu for snacks, and meals while we are at Disney.

We have the crockpot ready, and plan to use that a ton for food for the trip.

Our house sitter is ready, and I think she will enjoy being away from her parents for a week plus. Our poor dog will have to only have one person with him the entire week, but he likes our house sitter, so it should be fine.

My kids are bouncing off the walls, and my wife is even starting to get excited now as well.

I think we still have some things to pick up, IE - Ponchos, storage containers(the disposable kind), plasticware, etc..

I just have to concentrate at work for 10 more days, and then it is off to Disney. :)

Almost done with all the prep. Have the cooler cleaned out, and the hotel stays for the way down and back are all set-up.

Looked at the weather report, and hoping that it changes at least a little, as it now shows a 60% chance to rain every day we are there. <sigh> Let's hope the rain doesn't happen every day that we are there. :)

Work this week is very busy, as I guess it always is the week before you leave for vacation.

Been raining here a ton lately as well, so if it does rain when we are there, not a big deal. Still will be very fun. :)

It's Orlando in the summer, every day has a chance of rain.

We like to call it the 4pm thunderstorm. It rains for a bit and then usually clears up.
