I am visiting the Orlando area with my daughter and her god mother next weekend and were debating between Sea World or the MK. We were at Disney for a week in September and I thought Sea World might be an exciting change for her. I haven't been to Sea World in many, many years.
Thanks!

My DD was 2 1/2 in 2000 - Sea World was one of her favorites - I think we went 3 times that week! At 2 1/2, she found out that you had to be 6 to go to Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins and so every time you asked her what she was going to do when she turned 6 she would say "swim with the dolphins" - so guess what? This June, she was 6 and we spent a day at Discovery Cove!! She LOVES Sea World!! (So do her Mom and Dad!)

There is a children's playplace where they can spend some time and energy (and get really wet!!) We had her swimsuit on under her clothes and took a couple of changes of dry outfits... getting wet was fun for her that September as it was so HOT!

We were at Sea World this past July - they serve a kids meal in a "shamu" lunchbox and that is one of her favorite souveniers!

I think she will LOVE it!

Thank you for your input. I asked on the Theme Parks board and I think everyone wanted to jump on me for even suggesting that I don't go to the MK. But honestly, Small World is closed, Dumbo is closed there wasn't all that much for her to do at MK other than Toon Town and a few other small things. I thought Sea World was a good change! Plus, we'll be back at Disney in October!

I think its definitely worth it... we took our 5 and 2 year old to SeaWorld in May, and despite spending 1 day at SeaWorld and 5 days at the Disney parks, SeaWorld is the thing they still talk about the most. Between the shows and the different animal displays, they were both just enthralled by all of SeaWorld.

(In fact, they still play "Shamu Show" at home, where one of them is the trainer, and the other is Shamu and does "tricks"... I wish I could download the video of them doing this... it cracks me up every time!)

I would definitely do Sea World. We went to SW with DD was 2 and again twice when DD was 5 and DS was 3. They LOVED it each time. They especially loved Shamu, Clyde and Seamore, petting the dolphins, and the huge playground. DD (who is almost 11 now) until very recently still talked about wanting to be a marine biologist. She made this career choice while at SW!

At two and three DS absolutely loved SeaWorld. It was by far his favorite park as a young child and still is actually (he's 19 now). All my nieces and nephews loved the park as young children too. Disney IMHO is more hit or miss with the toddler set with some loving it and others finding the characters scary and the whole experience overwhelming. OP -- I'd do SeaWorld for sure if I were in your shoes.
