Quickest way to each park/City walk from Royal Pacific

Never stayed onsite, so this could be a ridiculous question...but what's the best (fastest) way to the parks from our hotel?

Keep in mind, I'm used to possibly 15+ minute bus rides from our Disney resort to a park, lol.

It is under a 10 minute walk to IOA and Citywalk and add on another couple of minutes to USF. The boat takes about the same amount of time.

Thanks! Do most people just walk then? Is there a bus option (rain??)?

There is a bus option but it just takes you to the transportation hub and you'll still have to walk outdoors a fair distance. Taking the bus (unless you are staying at Cabana Bay) still leaves you with a walk that is longer than the boat walk.

We usually walk unless we can see the boat. If we are going to IOA we always walk since you have to backtrack if you take the boat since you are let off closer to USF.

If it's raining, you can take the boat. The line and the boat itself are covered, although if it's a sideways downpour, the sides of the boat are open.

If the weather is fine, we found it faster to walk. The boat moves pretty slow and by the time you wait for it and ride it, it takes just as long if not longer.

But if there's lightning within a certain number of miles of the area the boats won't run.

And especially if you're heading to IOA, taking the boat is annoying. Because the boats let off on the citywalk side rather than the parks side, and you go *past* the IOA entrance. So you get off the boat and have to backtrack to the bridge over the water to IOA.

Something like that likely only bothers me. :)

We always prefer to walk too. But if there's no lightning and just rain, the boat I think is a better option than a bus. Closer walk, even though you'd have to backtrack.

I'm setting aside $70 for our upcoming trip to take the pedicabs/rickshaws. That'll be good for 10, 1-way, trips.

We loved walking from RPR to the parks. It is a gorgeous and pleasant walk in nice weather - goes by quickly. Definitely quicker to walk, especially to IOA and especially during busy times. The boats were convenient, too. They came more frequently than every 15 minutes. At the and of May, we never waited more than 5 or 6 minutes for a boat. Only once did the first boat fill and we had to wait for the next one. That was at park close one night.

As the PP mentioned, there are usually pedicabs available. We used one at night once when we were very tired. Generally, though, we preferred walking when we wanted to be at the parks or at the resort quickly.

Would like to know more about these pedicabs..... Where are they available? Do they go to all resorts/parking lots? Can you get one easily? Thanks for any information or if you can point me in the direction of getting more info

Really I don't recall seeing those around.

Pedicabs (aka Rickshaws) are located at the beginning and ends of walking paths from the hotels to the parks. They are not always there - about 1/2 of the time. They are not in or near parking lots and only travel on the walkways. They can take you anywhere you want to go - from one hotel to another, from a hotel to either park. I was surprised when they took us from RPR across Citywalk to the Studios - they said they aren't allowed to do that when it's very busy (ie closing time).

There is no set rate and they work on tips. I think common practice is to give at least $5. I usually give $5-8 depending on the length of the ride. They can hold about 2 adults and 1 child per cab. They are a fun way to save energy at the beginning or end of a long day.

Same here, was just there 5/30-6/3 and only saw one guy at the RP on 2 different occasions. I definitely noticed them in a higher abundance when we stayed at the Portofino Bay. Maybe there isn't a high demand for them at the RP? There was one evening we would have loved to come across one for a lift back but no luck!
