Converting unused QS meals to snack credits

Your best bet, if you think you are going to have extra QS's at the end of your trip, is to try and convert them early on instead of using your actual snacks, that way at the end if you want to take the "Snacks" on the go, you already have them without trying to convert them (and possibly failing, like we did).

Fortunately for us we were only out 2 QS from a 9 day trip with 5 of us (4 Adults, 1 Child), so not too bad.

You will not be able to redeem QS credits for snacks (if allowed) until after you have used all your allotted snack credits. The only exception would be the continental breakfast which can be done at any time. It is the same for those who want to use TS credits for QS meals. You have to use up all your QS credits first.

I did not know that, but I guess it makes sense. The suggestion was originally from someone else, (I read it elsewhere) and it sounded good. I just haven't had the opportunity to try it yet.

I have only ever had the DDP once and was under the impression that it would be "Easy" to convert leftover services to snacks to take with us on the way home. Alas, it was anything but easy, and when we got back and we started planning our next trip, the issue of the DDP, of course, came up again.

I guess the best thing to do is try and use up all your services in advance of your departure.

In November 2013 we were able to use 1 cs credit for 3 snacks at a shop in MK, we took home a bunch of bag candy. We had several credits left. Last November when I asked at CBR food court right before we left the CM said I could get 1 snack per cs credit. We were trying to get to our bus so I just grabbed a snickers and didn't question it.

This was not our experience at C.R. We would always use a qs for 3 snacks at the Contempo cafe to keep our snack credits for inside the park, and never got a drink so did not use the "continental breakfast" route. We did this starting on our arrival day. I really think it depends on whatever "rule" that resort/Cm comes up with at that time. We've always had luck at Contemporary, but have had issues with Pop.

Thanks for all the tips, guys! I'll have to remember to check into this at CBR when we go this fall. :)

It would be nice to be able to do this both ways, meaning converting extra snack credits into a CS meal. We always have extra snacks left over and usually end paying OOP for a couple of CS meals.

I think what would be best is if instead of determining (for example) that the standard DDP is 1 Snack, 1 QS and 1 TS per day, they assign "Credit" value. For example, a snack is 1 credit, QS 3 Credits and TS 5 Credits (or something similar). So you would get 9 "Credits" per person per day. Then the guests can choose to use them as needed for their situations. This could even be better for Disney, because the more expensive restaurants could then say DDP 7 Credits OR DDP 5 Credits for the less expensive table service facilities. This avoids having to worry about "Converting" meal entitlements and I think that it would be more profitable. ON "Hot Days" people are more inclined to drink more and eat less, so they use their credits on water instead of the more expense (and likely less profitable) table services.

Of course the "Quick Serve", "Deluxe" and "Platinum" plans would have more or less credits depending on which plan was chosen.

Just my 2 cent suggestion.

Or....instead of haggling about what credit is worth what, maybe we could just ditch the dining plan and pay for snacks, meals, drinks, whatever? Then we could just buy what we wanted.

Just a thought...
