we are visiting July 1 for just one day, park to park. We were at US and IoA for 2/p2p in October.
Ods 9, Is now just 54" and yds 7 years old, 48"! Both super adventurous. I'm trying to figure a plan as to what direction to head at park open and how much we can accomplish with high crowds.
Park hours 8 am-10 pm.

It's hard, we like it all! We can skip parade, dr suess(although It is cute)
Skip woody wood pecker area, any little kids stuff and meeting characters, hippendorf ride we can skip. Not sure how much we can really fit in.
Ods priority -Hulk with Dh
And Dragon challenge
Yds can't wait for forbidden journey
We all waited for gringotts but it shut down last time so we really want to do it.
Despicable me I hope to avoid a huge line like last time
Kids have interactive wands I'm sure they want to use again. Will ride hogwarts express but that had a long line so not sure if there is a better time.

I would love to get some input as to how to tackle the parks and what is reasonable to get done. I know it will be super hot. We have a gift card to margaritaville so planning a nice break for early dinner in there to rest and cool off mid afternoon. Oh and should we make a reservation?
Thanks so much for any help

I'm assuming you're staying offsite. You've been there before so you're looking at hitting "favorites". For 1 day, I'd start at USF do Despicable Me right at Rope Drop. From there, hit HRRR, Mummy, Transformers, Simpsons and MIB. You should be able to hit all of those first thing in the morning with minimal waiting. From there, finish the morning in Diagon Alley and ride Hogwarts Express. In IOA, start with Dragon Challenge then hit JPRA, Dudley DoRight, and Popeye. Head on to MSHI for Spiderman and Hulk. Head out for early Dinner at Margaritaville Head back into IOA for Forbidden Journey and Flight of Hippogryph and Suess (if time). Take Hogwarts Express back to USF. Repeat favorites or pickup Terminator, Monster Makeup, E.T. Etc.

Thank you. I pictured getting to gringotts at that time of day to be terrible.
How are wait times for hulk middle of the day?

go to the UO site and look at the express pass cost.
put the date in for when you will be at the parks.

the cost of the ep will show up then.

if the ep is costly, that means UO is looking at high crowds.
if it is $59.99, an indicator lower, normal crowds.

check the chart for both parks to see if one park has a higher prediction of crowds than the other.
if that is the case, hit the busy park first.

You're never 100% sure until that day. Looking at Touring Plans website they frequently show a big spike for Gringotts at general public rope drop that tapers off after a couple of hours. It frequently looks like 10:00-10:30 ish is a good time to hit the ride. After the rope drop crowds and before the people coming for lunch at the Leaky Cauldron. It will still likely be your longest line of the day unless you wait to ride Despicable Me. That ride consistently has the longest standby lines when looking at the Universal App. Often times, HRRR comes in 2nd, then Gringotts. But, you can normally get through those fairly quickly right at Rope Drop.

You might (and that a big might) save 15-20 minutes on Gringotts wait by rushing there at Rope Drop. But, Despicable Me and HRRR will each be 15 or 20 minutes longer in line, ROTM and MIB may be 10 minutes longer in line.

Touring Plans was showing Hulk about 40 minutes in the middle of the afternoon.
