Today is the day.

We have finally booked our 2nd trip to the World, after the last trip being our "Once in a lifetime" trip.

When I booked our first trip in June 2013, DBF was not one bit happy. He thought it was going to be childish, that he was going to be miserable, and spend 2 weeks dreaming of home. WRONG! He loved it! :lovestruc He has now been converted!

The all important details!
Dates: 10th September to 1st October 2016.

Where: Port Orleans French Quarter.

What: 21 day Ultimate tickets, free QS dining plan, memory maker, and the $200 Disney gift card all included.

Why: We loved POFQ last year, and while we contemplated staying at CSR to make a saving, when we talked about it decided we just couldn't not go back to POFQ!

What Next: SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!
Book flights! - done!
Book excursions.

Once again, it is just the 2 of us. And we are going for 3 weeks!! I can't quite believe it, but the DBF said to book 3 weeks as he just couldn't see any other way of going! :rotfl:

As we are going DIY, and have booked direct with Disney, we still have flights to sort out. I am feeling ok at the moment about having no flights (yet!), but I know the day the 11 month window opens, I will be straight on looking to book! [Edit - flights have now been booked, direct from Dublin with Aer Lingus.)

We went to Universal last year for just the one day, primarily for WWoHP, which was amazing! The rest of the day was spent walking around and seeing what else was on offer. We ended up doing The Hulk twice! So this year, we are looking at booking at least one night at a Universal Resort hotel to take in more.

We also did the Kennedy Space Center, which was brilliant, but this time we really want to do Busch Gardens - I also want to do the Serengeti Safari too.

My PTR is going to be full of updates as I book, plans, bucket lists, so, without further ado, let the planning COMMENCE! :dance3:

I meant to say, I had definitely planned to do Pick a Pearl last time, and it was soooo busy when we were there I never got the chance. That has to go on my bucket list for next time too!

I didn't know about Pick a Pearl until a few days ago, when I was reading a "Best Souvenir you Ever Bought" thread. I am prepared to wait though! And I have said to the DBF that I would like it set into a nice ring setting!

I can't remember, did you do Chef Mickey last time? Apparently they are starting a brunch service from the end of May, and was considering going.

No, we didn't do Chef Mickey- all our table service meals were in parks last time. I think the only one we'll go back to next time (as we're paying out of pocket for table meals) is Tusker House. That food was delicious! :) We might do a pre-opening Crystal Palace again if we can't get in/they discontinue the Be Our Guest breakfast.

Crystal Palace brekkie has a lot going for it ! Early entry to MK, good character interactions (even for us 'older' kids !) and the food is terrific, especially the made to order omelettes

Going to update the bucket list - seriously considering the Wild Africa Trek!

Thanks folks! I shall add Crystal Palace to the list!

We'll be there then too. 3 week break, 1 week on Disney Fantasy, 1 week PO
R, 1 week AKL. 50th birthday and 10 year anniversary to celebrate.

It has only dawned on me that our ESTAs will expire next May.

This calls for a To Do List (added, or should I say started, above). Oh I do love a good list, especially were planning a holiday is concerned. :cloud9:

Think I will do them next Summer some time. No hurry for them, as, theoretically, they should go through with no problems again! :worship:

I think ours will take longer this time- my new passport is finally in my married name, so it can take a little longer when you change your name, apparently...
