Are you a texter?

*I love texting - how did we live without it?

My mom and MIL don't text, and it drives me crazy.
Sometimes I'm at the store and want to ask a quick question about something like - did you buy horseradish or should I ? (this would be for Easter or Christmas) and I have to call them. Because I don't have to time to have a big conversation (and I don't like talking on the phone while I'm in public) or being rude when I tell them I can't talk I just buy the item and risk having double.

I love how in the middle of the day my DD can contact me about different things.
I especially love the texts that just come in as "Hi".

It's such a great way to stay in touch with people - love it!!!!

I voted "yes, multiple times a week" but that's only because I text my boss about important issues (she prefers texting to talking). I'm not a big phone person in general and rarely text outside of work, unless we're on vacation.

I do A LOT of texting on my work phone daily - it's my primary means of communicating with my field staff who are often with customers and can't answer the phone. Personally, it's mostly my DS that texts me - he rarely ever makes (or answers) a phone call.

I text constantly. I agree with you slo, it cuts down on the chit chat of a phone call when a one word answer is all that is needed.

My daughter and I text when we are in the same house, saves on yelling up and down the stairs lol

I've been more or less forced into making and accepting texts. So many people are petrified of talking on the phone anymore. But texting is appropriate in many instances.

But I do require my staff to call/leave a voice mail if they're calling out sick. No texts or e-mail. I want to hear their voices. Mainly so I can judge how good of an actor they are if they're faking it. ;) I figure requiring a phone call MIGHT cut down on the number of fake call outs, especially from those afraid of verbal communication.

I chose other because I only text my sister regularly and that is only because I watch my niece.

I'm a talker. I LOVE calling people and was so against texting a few years back. Mainly this was because I found it annoying when my nieces or brother-in-law would text at the dinner table during visits. So rude! But I have since joined the fold and text constantly. As some have stated, it just makes things easier if you only have a quick question for someone.

Multiple times per week. Might send 20 texts one day, and then none for 3 days. Just depends.

I do text when I want to make a quick comment to someone, but really I don't like to text much at all. I would much rather just talk on the phone.

I don't really like calling people or talking on the phone, so I LOVE texting. I can ask a question, get an answer and move on with my day. The only people I call anymore are my older relatives who don't text well/at all.

I chose no. I never text. I have a cheap prepaid flip phone because I don't even like cell phones. My sister is always bemoaning the fact that she can't text back and forth with me- I just don't like it. The best I'll do is Messenger on Facebook and my tablet.

No choice if I want to communicate with DD24. She always has the ringer off on her phone.

I'm learning how to text. Up until a few weeks ago, I had a call-only phone and I wasn't able to text. It drove me crazy that certain friends would always complain about how I never answered their texts, despite my telling (and showing) them that I couldn't receive or answer! Sorry that I live in the dark ages, but I couldn't afford that kind of phone, nor could I afford the bill that came with it.

I now have one of "those" phones (along with the bill :( ) and I've sent 2 or 3 texts. Not really enthused about it, but I guess that's the way now. I will admit...it took me 3 days to figure out how to answer a call on the stupid thing!

I thought texting was the stupidest thing ever. Then I started texting. Don't know how I lived without it :)

i don't like to text, mainly because I suck at typing on those little keyboards or a touch screen. But being this is the 21st century and i needed to get with the times, my work around is having a google voice number that I can text from on my computer keyboard. That I love. People don't like it too much if they want a quick answer but oh well. I don't like the intrusiveness of cell phones. I'm not a surgeon so really nothing that people text me is a matter of life and death.

I do/can text on my tracfone and my kids will text me if the need to but everyone knows to call my house phone if an immediate answer is needed.
