how is going? Tks
Checking in this Saturday, unless someone gives another update beforehand, I'll ask around, check things out and report back!
There is not amount of checking out you can do. Floors that have work going on the elevator is programmed not to stop. Emergency stairways are locked on those floors also. The crews are using staff elevators so you really see nothing at all happening.
I am a meeting & events planner and typically arrange to meet with sales managers, etc., and do site visits, so coming across this information isn't hard from a meeting planner prospective. It is normal to be given an update on the refurbishment progress when inquiring. My company hosts many events and corporate meetings at the RP throughout the year, this is what I implied when I said I would check things out without getting into an explanation to how I would come across this information. I wasn't planning on sneaking around the hotel with a camera and note pad.
yes we do need to meet up.
first round of butter beers are on me!
You got it! My sister and I are reconsidering our December WDW trip for something else in February and if that happens, I am going to book a few days in October for HHN. I will keep you posted!
And apologies to OP, Mickey's Dreamers, for the slight post hack! As soon as I have RP info to share, I'll be back (said in my best Arnold impersonation)
4 days till my Butterbeer fix... I better start packing!
Just back Saturday from a wonderful week long stay at the Royal Pacific. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms in Tower 1 - 7th floor - very nice. They are still working on floors one and two in Tower 1. The Tower 1 first floor elevator lobby is enabled as a stop as has access to the pool but was very dusty due to the work. Believe it or not, we could hear (faintly) the hammer drills all they way up on the 7th floor in the afternoon! No noise what so ever at night.
Also - the pool now offers full length lounge covers for the pool chairs in addition to towels. These were nice as they fitted over the top of the pool chairs so they didn't fall down when you raised the chair back. Ask for them (free) at the towel shack.
