We are staying 3 days on property in late October and 6 days in a timeshare. What restaurants do you enjoy off property? We are a party of 5 DH, me, MIL, DS - 9 and DS - 6.

Thank you
Stacy

Columbia in celebration, it is soooooo wonderful! Also, town tavern and D'antonios in celebration are great!

This past trip, we tried Hash House A Go Go, Millers Ale House, Margaritaville, Bubbalou's Bodacious Barbecue, and Carrabba's all for the first time. Great experiences at each, and we would recommend them all. You can check out my May 2015 trip report currently in progress (see the link in my signature) if you want to read my full reviews with photos.

Others we have done in the past and enjoyed.....Chili's, TGI Friday's, Giordano's, Buffalo Wild Wing, Cracker Barrel, Golden Corral, Steak & Shake, Olive Garden and Friendly's. Yes, most are chains but we have none of them around here. Consistently good food at all of them, though the atmosphere of Golden Corral can sometimes leave something to be desired. Giordano's is a must-do if you like deep dish pizza!

It depends on how far you want to venture as well. We live in Dr. Phillips which is about four miles from Disney property. Here are some of our favourites around the area.

Millers Ale House - They have several locations throughout Florida & Orlando. Good prices & big menu selection (Right off property & I-Drive)
Bubbalou's Bodacious Barbecue - Some of the best BBQ in Orlando (Conroy & Kirkman Rd.)
Bee Won Korean - Best Korean restaurant in Orlando bar none (Dr. Phillips)
Rocco's Tacos - Can get loud on weekends from the locals. Still, very good food & huge selection of Tequila (Dr. Phillips)
Yard House - Big menu with something for everyone. Unique twists on old school items. Newer spot so it is always packed (I-Drive)

Buca di beppo!! We go every year, at least once. Amazing food.. Italian, family style. Plenty of food for a family. Good prices & great service. Highly recommended!!

I like a restaurant that is there -but not in Alabama - Perkins - has good food at very reasonable prices.

what the name of the timeshares - so we know what you are close too

Drivenbydisney thanks for the list! Added these to our trip!
? On the Korean BBQ place. My kids are adventurous eaters but prefer rice to noodle based dishes. Do you know if they serve rice at all?

Fudruckers, Giordanos, Texas de Brazil, BB Kings, Margaritaville, Hard Rock, Sonic (for happy hour drinks, not sure if they still have them), Krispy Kreme (for hot donuts).

Powellrj,

You had me at "hot donuts" there's nothing like Krispy Kreme donuts when the "hot donuts now" sign is lit!

We had a really good meal at UNOS. It is just outside of Down Town Disney. They have a good variety to choose from. We plan on going back to UNOS on our next visit. You can get anything from steak to deep dish pizza. There is something for everyone on the menu.

Thank you for the suggestions. We are staying at Holiday Inn - Orange Lake

You are just off the 192 and a short drive from here you will find the Ale House, Bahama Breeze, Sweet Tomatoes, Olive Garden, Panera Bread and a few more! There is also a Publix and Super Target. :goodvibes

The advantage of the Kissimmee area is that there is something for almost everyone. Nothing wrong with going to a chain restaurant IMO.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree! But I know, for some visitors, they are looking for "special" places they don't have in their own hometown. Being from Canada, all these chains are fun and novel when we visit, but for folks who have those same places in their own cities, I can understand why they're looking for something different.

Truth to that. When we go to the U.S., my SO likes going to the Cheesecake Factory if there's one close by. But we also like going to non-chains as well (which is typical of you're looking for, say, pho).

Cracker Barrell is another eatery on Hwy 192 as is Texas Roadhouse & Logan'S

I here that " Manny's Chop House " ( Haines City ) is about to open a branch on 192

We like chains and specialty restaurants. With two kids, I do not complain much. I plan on cooking at least two dinners and all breakfasts.

New one for us: Shula Burger

Everyone in our party enjoyed the food. At the time the restaurant was fairly new and the service was a bit disjointed(meals came out at differerent times and app came out after meals) but I imagine they have fixed that by now. The food was delicious.

Any good Mexican restaurants nearby? I looked at Rocco's Tacos menu, but interested in other options.
