Okay, now that's just not fair!
So totally adorbs!

It sounds good, think it might be similar to what Wayne & Joh did on their Disney cruise.
Think my ds who will be 18 just before we arrive May enjoy this for a change.

Thanks for the info.

:goodvibes Why thank you kind sir - I'm very partial to DD - hmm suddenly the word partial seems a thoroughly inappropriate display of affection.....note to self....buy thesaurus....

So good to have you on board :goodvibes

It could well be - I only know of the cruise detective stuff from what I've read on here but it sounds like it could be similar. We really want to try the Pirate one too and explore the Agent P missions a bit more in Epcot - they are great fun :) Excited about the fact that they become more complex as you progress!

Good evening all!
Well according to my countdown it's only 109 days until we head off....not long until double digit dancing!!!! Woooooo hoooooooo!

Excited? Me? What on elf gave you that idea??????

So we ended on day 4 which was our first foray into MK. So, onwards.....

Day 5: SeaWorld
I am fully aware that there are lots of opposing views on SeaWorld and its ethics 'etcetera etcetera etcetera' (special prize for identifying the film..) but whenever we have been it has been fascinating and the discussions we have held with keepers and the like have been informative and extremely interesting. Consequently we will return! We didn't go there in 2013 so we're ready to see what's new. Really looking forward to the penguin ride (ok that sounds meaner than it ought....) - Antarctica:Empire of the Penguin - although I'm not sure about how I'll cope with the cold! DH permanently mocks me (ok...let me finish....) about my lack of resilience towards less clement weather as I'm from Newcastle and consequently must be born with the 'feel warm in any sodding weather' gene - and well, oh, I don't know why, but I've always loved the idea of summer, and sun, and all things hot... cue for a song.....
maxresdefault.jpg

We're not yet sure whether to brave Manta and Kraken - we did them in 2011 and each loved one of them - DH walked off Manta and looked like he was about to throw up everywhere so I'm fairly sure he won't repeat that experience, however I thought it was genius! On the other hand he really enjoyed Kraken whereas I felt a bit meh about it. We are well suited....honest guv.....
I have to admit that I am particularly sad about the fact that the mimes won't be part of the Sealion show....they were so clever and hilarious I have no idea...NO IDEA WHATSOEVER....why SeaWorld would want to ditch them....much the same as I don't understand why Disney did away with the Adventurer's club.....so sad...never will I forget walking in there as a moose head on the wall announced (not to me I hasten to add) 'well take me off the wall and hang me on your mantelpiece baby....' Ooops...sorry...drifted off into nostalgia land there....ah I miss you Adventurer's Club....Kungaloosh!

And we're back in the room!

We're planning on having breakfast at ihop on the way to SeaWorld and then heading back in the afternoon via Miller's Ale House for some dinner - excited about trying another couple of new places. Not sure where lunch will be yet - probable a snack and more than likely including one of these:
232323232%7Ffp539%3A4%3Enu%3D3336%3E%3A92%3E%3A%3B4%3EWSNRCG%3D3556%3C536%3B2329nu0mrj

Can't remember what they are called but it matters not as they are made from potato and are fried and taste of potato and are curly and made of potato...mmmmm potato......

Apologies for brief update - will hopefully return sooner with another!

Is this how you welcome all your new readers?
By antagonizing them?

Oh, I'm okay with it if you are.
Just wondering.

I'm very partial to DD - hmm suddenly the word partial seems a thoroughly inappropriate display of affection.....note to self....buy thesaurus....

Sure. I understand.
You like DD well enough until something better comes along.
Like a puppy, maybe.

I am fully aware that there are lots of opposing views on SeaWorld and its ethics

Not from me.

Who's to say that living in an aquarium with no predators and being fed well everyday isn't the best life ever?

'etcetera etcetera etcetera'

The King and I.

Really looking forward to the penguin ride (ok that sounds meaner than it ought....)

It's not the weight of the rider so much as it is the spurs.

Can't remember what they are called but it matters not as they are made from potato and are fried and taste of potato and are curly and made of potato...mmmmm potato......

Is there salt associated with that?
'cause if there is.... Want.

Subscribing and loving your posts. Just wanted to say the strawberry chicken salad at The Plaza was tasty and beautiful when we were last there. It made a lovely change from burgers and the CMs were very relaxed and attentive totally a very pleasant place to dine without leaving the park. We will be at WL too in August and are looking forward to staying there for the first time making the most of the walking trails and the boat ride to MK.
I just love your sense of humour and outlook on life. Looking forward to reading more of your plans too.

You're barking mad you!

Agree :thumbsup2

This made me snort.....:lmao:

Yes....salt....and potato....yuuuuuum! I swear if I was stranded on a desert island and was only allowed one foodstuff, it would be potatoes....

:welcome: and thanks so much for subscribing - it's great to have you on board!
I'm definitely hearing more and more positive things about The Plaza and the thought of something a bit different to the usual fare is very appealing. When are you at WL then?! We haven't done the walking trails particularly but did enjoy getting a Surrey bike and riding around and down to Fort Wilderness - made a really nice change of pace. Boat ride - yay! :boat:

You are most kind :goodvibes Hoping to have more plans up in the next day or two!

We will be there 08/12 to 08/26 so two lovely weeks! Seriously can't wait to be there it all looks so lovely and we want to explore around Fort Wilderness I think DS will love the archery he has learned to do this at school and had a blast with it. We want to see all the animals along the trails and take some photos too.

Thanks again to everyone for reading along and commenting! Makes me smile!

I would just like to do this before zooming forward with more details.... Yes folks, it's true.....we are in double digits.....Whoop!! Exciting......

So I think I just did day five at Sea World so it....fairly logically....indicates that I should go for Day 6. Call me crazy but that's what I'm going for....

Day 6: Magic Kingdom

This is a bit of a special day for DD as she's chosen, as a belated birthday present (her birthday is in June!), a trip to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It's not necessarily something that DH and I would have directed her towards however she is such a girly girl (if that makes sense) and it just totally appeals to her! We also thought that if she is willing to wait for a present for 2 and a bit months then it is obviously something that holds some importance! Anyway, we've got her appointment booked for early in the morning, but what we'll do is buy a dress in the UK (at a considerably cheaper price!) and secretly transport it over then leave it out on the bed for her to find that morning with an invitation from the princess in question (reckon it may well be Anna....!) to go to BBB. We've gone for early morning so that we get full on value for money -

Not exactly sure where we'll head to ride-wise but it won't involve getting wet! I do kind of like the idea of a few fast pass photos of her on crazy rides all dressed up as a princess - ha!

Sadly we know that POTC will be under refurbishment for the ENTIRE time we are out there - altogether now.....BOOOOOOOOO. So, and I know you'll all be devastated about this.....there will be no photos like this:

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv39%3A48%3Enu%3D3336%3E%3A92%3E%3A%3B4%3EWSNRCG%3D39%3C6657%3A46329nu0mrj
I'm sorry to disappoint you.....:rotfl:

It also could be a day of meeting lots of characters! Or perhaps a bit of Sorcerors. We'll play it by ear and then I'll tell you all about it in the trip report (hint hint....read it please!) What I know she won't be doing is this:

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv38332%3Enu%3D3336%3E%3A92%3E%3A%3B4%3EWSNRCG%3D39%3C498%3C899329nu0mrj

We've no specific plans for lunch....other than to avoid this:

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv35744%3Enu%3D3336%3E%3A92%3E%3A%3B4%3EWSNRCG%3D39%3C669%3B636329nu0mrj

And I don't mean the Grand Floridian Café....I mean the general hi-jinks with food!
In the evening we will be heading to the GF but to 1900 Park Fare rather than the café. We went for breakfast last time and are going to try dinner this year. Mainly because of DD (although this is a surprise for her) and the fact that we want to meet the stepsisters again!

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv3%3B837%3Enu%3D3336%3E%3A92%3E%3A%3B4%3EWSNRCG%3D39%3C6698656329nu0mrj

I love DD's face in this....as if to say....save me!!!!
We're looking forward to this day....especially the elements of surprise for DD.....:thumbsup2

Day 7 end of week one! - Animal Kingdom
First day at AK! I think DD is most excited about this one - she just adores animals of any sort. We have two cats at home and she really loves them and gets very excited about any sort of creature. We live right next to some woods at home and it is the season for slow worms - our littlest cat really likes slow worms (possibly because she's a total doofus and wouldn't catch anything faster but meh....) and has regularly brought exhibits in for our delight! Doesn't faze DD in the least - crazy thing! I have to admit I think they are rather beautiful, however that view is not shared by DH - he is not keen (and that's being way too polite - given the chance I think he'd scream like a girl!) Anyway, I digress - the point of all that random info is that I reckon DD will really enjoy AK....

Last time we went she did this:

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv35398%3Enu%3D3336%3E%3A92%3E%3A%3B4%3EWSNRCG%3D39%3C668884%3B329nu0mrj

Points for anyone who knows why.....

Lunch will hopefully be at Flame Tree :goodvibes

Lots of character meets - although no more Flik - booo. We were standing in the queue to meet Flik on one occasion when the lady behind us said to her child - and when I say 'said' I actually mean SAID - 'You wanna get a photo with the big blue bug?' Errrrr....seriously? Did you just refer to...? You don't know who....? You've paid a lot of money to.......? Sheeesh! It's developed into a bit of a family catchphrase over the years :woohoo:Def want to see these two though..
232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv38672%3Enu%3D3336%3E%3A92%3E%3A%3B4%3EWSNRCG%3D39%3C668%3A%3A37329nu0mrj
SQUIRREL! (I actually really empathise with Dug at times....)

Looking forward to so much at AK and particularly fond of wringing shorts out after Kali! We will of course return to EE. I love this ride. Last visit, DD discovered that she was tall enough and she was ridiculously excited.......well.......that excitement ended within about 5 seconds of the ride starting. The rest of it I remember as resembling a therapy session.......the photo says it all....
Photo0111FourBySix.jpg

I think DD's horror makes up for the completely impassive lady behind her!
We may also have to go on Dinosaur - yes, it is under duress (seriously wish it was being refurbished.....) I am NOT a fan. The first time I went on it (when it was called Countdown to Extinction I believe) I was with a friend and let's just say that when we went to find our ride photo it took a very long time. Why? Because we were looking for both of us and I wasn't actually visible because I had put my head in her lap out of sheer terror.......have I mentioned that I'm a bit of wimp......:rolleyes1Last time we went......well......here we are.......

Photo0103FourBySix.jpg

DD keeps saying that we're going on again this year and going to keep our eyes open......who's she kidding????!!!!

We're planning on trying out Olive Garden for dinner as we want to try some different off site places this year. Secretly though I think it's because DH has banned DD and I from going to Sanaa since on our previous visit I taught DD the technique of removing the paper wrapper off the straws by tearing off one end and blowing into the wrapper so that the paper flies off. What do you mean it's irresponsible? Nah......oh, ok so she copied me and ended up blowing the paper onto the back of a girl sitting at an adjacent table......erm.....somewhat embarrassing, but of course I am to blame........in my defence the girl was celebrating her birthday and I suspect DD helped her remember it..........:rolleyes1

So....Olive Garden it is.......

Call me crazy but that's what I'm going for....

Okay. But only because you asked.

You're crazy.

however she is such a girly girl (if that makes sense)

It does. I have one of those. The other one... not so much.

but what we'll do is buy a dress in the UK (at a considerably cheaper price!) and secretly transport it over then leave it out on the bed for her to find that morning with an invitation from the princess in question (reckon it may well be Anna....!) to go to BBB.

I like that plan.
Frugal and fun.

altogether now.....BOOOOOOOOO.

BOOOOOOOOO...

there will be no photos like this:

Too bad. That's a riot!

(hint hint....read it please!)

Very subtle, Claire.

Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.

Looking forward to so much at AK and particularly fond of wringing shorts out after Kali!

 We had to buy new shorts for DD... she was so uncomfortable being soaking wet.

that excitement ended within about 5 seconds of the ride starting. The rest of it I remember as resembling a therapy session.......the photo says it all....

I think DD's horror makes up for the completely impassive lady behind her!

It looks like she's waiting for the ride to start!

Last time we went......well......here we are.......

I taught DD the technique of removing the paper wrapper off the straws by tearing off one end and blowing into the wrapper so that the paper flies off. What do you mean it's irresponsible?

Oh, no. That's just good parenting.

I did the same with my DDs.

Frugal and fun.
The best sort of fun!!!

BOOOOOOOOO...
Thanks for joining in!

Very subtle, Claire.
Finally you notice! I honestly get tired of being called subtle....it's such a regular term used for me.....ahem......

tick tock tick tock
Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.
Ah ha! A good guess but not who she was trying to emulate......you want me to tell you?? Huh?

We had to buy new shorts for DD... she was so uncomfortable being soaking wet.
Poor thing - it really is water based Russian Roulette (fewer bullets and somewhat less risk....) - totally dependent on which seat you happen to be in. If it's those back 2 when you head down that ramp then you are just deluge fodder! It took ages for my shorts to dry out - I don't blame your DD one jot!

Like mother like daughter.
.....yup.....both totally fascinated by our kneecaps......

Oh, no. That's just good parenting.

I did the same with my DDs.

Glad to hear that it gets your endorsement! :cool1:

Looking at some of those photo's it look like your mini me is a chip of the old block.
Ha! She is somewhat! Not sure whether that's a good thing or not.....:rotfl:

Really! I was so sure she was Wendy!

Can't believe it's taken me so long to find you. Loving your musings. I'm so jealous you're in double digits - we're still in the 400's:rolleyes1

I've started notes for my 1st trip report, but think I'll leave it until we're down to the hundred mark to start posting

You are going to have a great trip! Invest in cooling rags when you go! We had one for each of our family members when we went last May and it really helps. They are the kind that you wet with water and wring out and instant coolness! It really helps when you are under the blazing sun and high humidity! I don't even care if I look like a dork wearing one of those things!
