Just starting to think about next February and decided to check in with all my fellow cruisers! This will be my third official cruise with
DCL and I'm looking forward to some Star Wars fun! I was surprised that they would still be keeping Pirates Night despite the addition of Star Wars night, I just assumed because of the fireworks they would switch it. I guess I gotta prep for that, Pirate Night and the pirate buffet are not to be missed!
Our group usually does polos or button downs with khakis for the semi-formal and formal nights. Ladies with nice blouse/pants, or a dress. (We don't get out much so I love the chance to put on a dress and heels for a couple hours and know that when I'm over the heels I can just run back to the cabin and chuck them) The kids like wearing their favorite dress. There are not requirements for dinner wear, but it is frowned up wearing a bathing suit to dinner. I mean, how hard it is to change into a summer dress or put on a shirt? I definitely recommend your group dressing up (not necessarily formal) but making use of the professional photographers and getting a really nice family/group photo for the cruise. Mickey and friends are out in formal wear that night so how cool is that? Plus buying that one and framing it is always a good thank you or Mother's Day gift... What? The kids don't have dirt on them for a photo? Crazy!
I'm on the fence about FE, we have 9 people this trip so it would be quite an undertaking to join... though it is a blast to get gifts from other people from different places! The kids love it! My favorites have been magnets and local gifts from other states/countries. Makes you feel like you are learning about your fellow travelers! Even though I may not be participating, I recommend only 10 to 15 a group... if you want to do more, you can usually join more than one group. But if there are 2-4 people a cabin, it is harder to add a personal touch if you are just cranking it out.
I read through the whole feed and I know I'm forgetting stuff, I do hope to learn more and share more before the cruise! Oh, for those wanting to make WDW Resort Reservations, I hear they won't be up/available until July. But who knows, keep checking... I know I will be! Oh and for you fellow runners out there... I'm such a runDisney junkie and have ran the last two Princess Halfs so it will be weird to be on a ship instead... if I wasn't positive my family would send me to an insane asylum... I would so be on board for the 10k! Better all you Princess Runners out for the Castaway Cay 5k, one of my favorite parts of cruising in the Disney Bahamas!
