Disney Fantasy Cruise February 20, 2016

For any newbies flying to Orlando and not planning on staying at WDW, we usually fly in the day before and stay at the Hyatt in the airport. You can't get any more convenient than that and you're able to get transportation to the port from there. We fly in from California the day before because we don't want any additional stress worrying about flight delays and missing boarding time! Can you imagine?!

Hey
This is Tammy from Denver Colorado. Just booked our next cruise yesterday. I will be traveling with my husband John, my Son Jake and his new wife Cydney. Cydney and Jake will be celebrating their first anniversary on the cruise. They were wed Feb 14 2014 and took a cruise on Disney for their honeymoon. We are all so stoked for this trip! Love Disney cruise vacations they really know how to do it up right. The only downside to doing a Disney cruise is you feel so bummed and let down afterward because you don't get that kind of treatment in the real world when you return. I Do have one question, anybody know of any deals or up coming deals for universal tickets or universal onsite hotels? We are going to stay one extra day after the cruise to go visit Harry's world.

I don't know of any deals currently (other than FL Resident ones), but I do know that if you want to see both parts to the Wizarding World, then you will need a park hopper ticket. Hogsmeade is in one park and Diagon Alley is in the other park, and both are worth seeing. Plus, with the hopper you can ride the Hogwarts Express between them!

Thanks pryncesslace. Yes I have been to harry potter but my son jake and cydney have not. I took my husband there last year for our anniversary it was AWESOME! It totally lived up to my expectations. I think it is definitely worth it also to stay on site so you can get the express pass to.

We just went in February for my daughters birthday trip and LOVED it! I'm trying to figure out a way to go back in this fall!

Hi! Just joined the group and really would love to participate in the Fish Extender! My kids - David (7 1/2) and Rachel (6) will love it. How do I join a FE group? This will be our first Disney Cruise and we're really looking forward to it. Our room number is 7668.

Thanks! Suzanne (and DH John)

Ok, everyone let's vote!

How many cabins would everyone like to have in our FE Groups?

10, 15, or 20?

Did you decide how many in the FE group, and is it full? I just joined this board, and would love to join the FE. We are a family of four! Thanks!

Hi I'm Su-Lynn! My husband Steve and I are currently booked on this cruise! So excited as we booked while on board the Magic two weeks ago and saw those ads for Star Wars Day at sea...it sounds amazing! We were at the first Star Wars Weekend this year at DHS in May (May 15-17) and it was so much fun! I took selfies with Vader!! I'm also celebrating a big birthday on this trip...4-0!! DH and I don't have kids but a big Mickey boat with Star Wars day at sea...what better way to celebrate 40 than acting like the biggest kid? :)

Is anyone planning on dressing up in Star Wars attire? I am really not a costume person but we did dress up for Pirate night and had a lot of fun. I am thinking I should at least get DH to dress up as Han...

Excited to be part of this group!

Just starting to think about next February and decided to check in with all my fellow cruisers! This will be my third official cruise with DCL and I'm looking forward to some Star Wars fun! I was surprised that they would still be keeping Pirates Night despite the addition of Star Wars night, I just assumed because of the fireworks they would switch it. I guess I gotta prep for that, Pirate Night and the pirate buffet are not to be missed!

Our group usually does polos or button downs with khakis for the semi-formal and formal nights. Ladies with nice blouse/pants, or a dress. (We don't get out much so I love the chance to put on a dress and heels for a couple hours and know that when I'm over the heels I can just run back to the cabin and chuck them) The kids like wearing their favorite dress. There are not requirements for dinner wear, but it is frowned up wearing a bathing suit to dinner. I mean, how hard it is to change into a summer dress or put on a shirt? I definitely recommend your group dressing up (not necessarily formal) but making use of the professional photographers and getting a really nice family/group photo for the cruise. Mickey and friends are out in formal wear that night so how cool is that? Plus buying that one and framing it is always a good thank you or Mother's Day gift... What? The kids don't have dirt on them for a photo? Crazy!

I'm on the fence about FE, we have 9 people this trip so it would be quite an undertaking to join... though it is a blast to get gifts from other people from different places! The kids love it! My favorites have been magnets and local gifts from other states/countries. Makes you feel like you are learning about your fellow travelers! Even though I may not be participating, I recommend only 10 to 15 a group... if you want to do more, you can usually join more than one group. But if there are 2-4 people a cabin, it is harder to add a personal touch if you are just cranking it out.

I read through the whole feed and I know I'm forgetting stuff, I do hope to learn more and share more before the cruise! Oh, for those wanting to make WDW Resort Reservations, I hear they won't be up/available until July. But who knows, keep checking... I know I will be! Oh and for you fellow runners out there... I'm such a runDisney junkie and have ran the last two Princess Halfs so it will be weird to be on a ship instead... if I wasn't positive my family would send me to an insane asylum... I would so be on board for the 10k! Better all you Princess Runners out for the Castaway Cay 5k, one of my favorite parts of cruising in the Disney Bahamas!

Hi Everyone,

We are taking the family. Myself, wife, 2 girls (4,21months), my parents. So we are staying in 2 Cabins and would love to join the FE. I read through all the post. Are you thinking 10,15,20? On the Disney Wonder, we just broke up into groups of 10. We didn't have to turn anyone away, but we also didn't have to bring so much stuff on board.

We can all still hang at the meet up.

Could you also put my wife and me on the mixology group?

any updates on the FE? and mixology groups? Just wondering if we came up with how many and a new list. Thank you:)

I can't wait!!!

We were at opening day at SWW on the 15th! Surprised our die hard six year old. He was beside himself and got to ride Star tours SEVEN times. Such a fun day...

That's awesome!! Your son most have loved it!!! We were there all day on the 16th and again for the fireworks on the 17th. We loved everything! Are you in for this cruise too? I assume you are since you are posting on this thread! I wonder if they will have Star Wars themed meals. I'm so excited!

I managed to get reservations for The Art of Animation for February 2016, the 3 days before the cruise... but had to call the resort directly... and it's for "room only" until July. BUT... we're guaranteed a spot :) And I can make changes after the "deals" get loaded July/August... Can't WAIT!!!

Hi! First time posting, first time on this site, first time on a Disney cruise!! We have been on numerous cruises before but never this line, and this will be the first time bringing our little guys. They'll be almost four (May birthday) and 15 months old at the time of the cruise! Eek! We are beyond excited and already compulsively reading everything we can get our hands on. SO. EXCITED!!

I apologize if I am messing up the protocol but I have read about the Fish Extenders and would like to join in for that, if that's okay! :)

Did I mention we're EXCITED?!?!

Welcome Zephyr'd :)

This is our first Disney Cruise also. We are so incredibly excited too... I have gone through 15 different ideas for fish extender gifts and 3 different extender ideas and also 3 different umbrella saver ideas... finally finalized the gifts and everything... now to atually DO them :)

So looking forward to the Castaway 5K and the Rum and the Caribbean... I want to go NOW :)

Yes now sounds good!!! I searched for a Fish Extender on Etsy yesterday and fell down a rabbit hole of Disney Cruise paraphernalia including umbrella savers and shirts and pillowcases and oh my word. Already ordered one outfit for the baby, planning Star Wars and Pirate Night fun... It's a good thing I don't have a little girl or we'd be up to our ears (heehee) in bows, Princess costumes, and pillowcase dresses by February!! :)
