Mickey Hats

I've seen a number of posts recommending buying some of your souvenirs, etc, before you get to the parks because it's cheaper that way. I've been thought about buying the Mickey ear hats for the kids and using them as part of our trip announcement. We are going in January, and I contemplated wrapping them for Christmas and making the announcement then. The kids are currently 2 and 4 with little to no good concept of time, months, etc - there is no way I want to listen to them ask "are we going to Disney yet?!" ALL SUMMER LONG :hyper2: Bless their little hearts, I love them, but . . .

I'm rambling - on to my questions!
1. Are the Mickey ears from Disney Store the same hats you find in the parks? I know there is a numerous assortment to be found in the parks, but comparing simple, old-school Mickey ears are they the same?

2. How much do various Mickey Mickey and Minnie ears go for in the parks?

3. Do they make Mickey ears on a headband (similar to the Minnies)? And do these come in kids' sizes? I've mostly seen the Minnies on adults/teens and the Disney Store only carries women's online. I feel like my kids would like wearing these better, so maybe waiting to pick some up in the park would be better.

4. If we buy the hats from Disney Store online, can we have them personalized/embroidered in the parks? Anybody have any experience with this? My kids are at that age where they love, love, love seeing their names on things!

Thanks for any help! :goodvibes

The mickey hats in the stores are likely different than the ones you find in the park as the ears in the park say Disney World on them. The prices of the ears will be consistent with what you find on the DisneyStore.com website, but you can likely take advantage of special sales and deals. Here are the hats they have available online http://www.disneystore.com/disney-p...ies/ear-hats-mickey-mitts/mn/1001081+1000292/

Finally, if you don't get it embroidered online, they embroider in the parks for a small fee :)

For Mickey ear headbands, I got some in the party section of Target. Obviously they are more cheaply made, but they were about $2 each I think, which was great because my DD didn't end up wanting to wear it that often. They are sized for little kids.

Thank you! Good to know that if I want to get some ahead of time I can have them embroidered in the park. Having his name on his hat would make my son's day!

Thanks! I may try this first and see if they play with them much. My kids are pretty into dress-up, hats, tiaras (DD), etc, so I think they'll be pretty into the ears. But for a couple bucks, never hurts to have some extra Mickey Ears handy, right?! ::yes::
