LOVE the Website "Chat" feature!

I just love this feature!

I was just able to modify our reservation and waitlist with the help of Kevin via the Chat feature. This is the 3rd time I've used the feature, the other 2 times were for adding requests, and it worked great again.
The wait when calling was "approximately 35 minutes" but a CM started chatting with me within seconds of requesting it and I was done in under a minute.

I have a 2 year old who really likes to talk to me while I'm on the phone, or try and talk to the person on the other end, which can often make for loooooooong and frustrating conversations. I can only imagine how the person on the other end feels!

There are plenty of naysayers here pointing out the fault points, like things the online agent can't do (yet). But I'll take waiting for chat over waiting on phone hold almost all of the time (only would do the phone if I'm on the move).
 
I had a very good experience with chat as well. I had to contact them to combine two reservations and modify a waitlist I had. It was very quick and the chat representative was very helpful.
 
Can I hijack for a moment and ask how one can access the chat feature? I feel like I've looked a hundred times all over the website and still can't find it...

It's in a somewhat hidden spot.
When you're logged into your account on the site, you have to go to the Vacation Center section where you actually book your room.

There is a tiny sidebar header "Chat Now" that has a link "Chat Online With an Agent" that is on the left side on top of where it lists MS' hours of operation. The link disappears whenever MS is closed.

(I updated this 'cause what I remembered by heart last night wasn't exactly correct, and now I can see what it looks like during MS' operating hours when the link is there.)

Of course now DVC redesigned their site. So now chat is easier to find:
It's under the Help & Contact menu. Also apparently chat is open earlier than MS phone hours! They're available now and it's before 8am.
 
Welp never mind to the extra hours. Apparently the geniuses at Disney IT routed the chat to the DVC Sales team today...
 
So I just tried the chat feature. It was very easy, but I was told I needed to go the help&contact chat, call or email? I emailed, but we'll see what they say. I may end up calling :) Regardless, it was an easy convenient feature and beats waiting on hold :)

Just a follow up....I emailed MS yesterday and my request was complete today! Very pleased with quick turn around!
