Our First Trip to Disneyland Paris!

Hello everyone, we are super excited and ready for Paris! We are going for the very first time in May and we will be staying for a total of two weeks. Before heading over to DLP we will be staying in the city center to do the cultural touristy things I have dreamed of my whole life :) Then we head over to DLP for the the last 5 days of our trip and will be staying at SL.

If anyone can give us any specific tips for that time of year, we don't know what to expect since this is our first trip to France. How is the weather in May? Will it be too crowded?

One thing that has me concerned is making ressies for restaurants. I can see it's not like at WDW or DL where they can be made in advance. I really want to do the Remy restaurant so hopefully that can be done. Do we just try to get in the day of? We are foodies so are there any must do restaurants anyone recommends? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

You can book your restaurants 60 days in advance. I do suggest you book Chez Remy in advance, because it's very popular and I've read on someone's reviews that people with no reservations were turned down.

I would recommend a character dinner. We love Inventions, it's pricey, but worth it. If you'll be there on Sunday you may like Inventions Sunday brunch. It's a character lunch and it's themed. And it's fantastic. Done it twice now.

Walt's and Blue Lagoon are also highly recommended for good food and atmosphere.

I like Plaza gardens (buffet). And I love Hakuna Matata fries and chicken strips.

Will you be there on weekdays or weekend? Weekend tend to get crowded.

Thanks Isila! We arrive to the resort on a Saturday, but we are not planning to do parks on that day. Our park days will be Sunday-Wednesday. Do we have to call to make dining reservations or do they have a system like in WDW & DL where we can just book online? Thanks for all the restaurant recommendations! Cannot wait for May :yay:

You can't book restaurants online but can book through City Hall or with your hotel concierge when you arrive. We did this in December - just booked on the first day and got what we wanted. With 5 days you should be fine getting into Remys.
What dates in May are you going as UK schools are on holiday for a week at the end and I think there are a few public holidays in France in May which will make it busier

You have to call to make reservations.

DLP Dining Reservations - +33 (0) 160 30 40 50

Although, I saw on another thread that if you are in the US you can call the US number and ask to be transferred. I haven't personally tried it (our DLP trip is in July, so I haven't attempted to make dining reservations yet.

Our Disneyland portion is from May 16th to the 21st :) Is it still cold in May? I have read it should not be too cold, but wondering how much warm clothing if any we will really need.

Thanks for providing the Phone number cmpeter! :)

May *should* be nice weather. Hard to tell in this prt of Europe but hopefully by then it'll be warm and not too rainy.

Take some sweaters and a rain jacket and you'll be fine.

We went late May a couple of years back as it was boiling hot. A bit too hot for me as DLRP doesn't have AC like WDW.

I prefer cooler weather, but dh is the type that is almost freezing in the 70's so I want to make sure I know what to pack, lol. Thanks for the info :)

Just wanted to update that I tried calling the Disneyland California dining number and asking if they could transfer me to DLP Dining Reservations and they said, nope...they can't do that.

I was the one who called a US line and was transferred. It's a Florida area code but its Disney Parks phone line. When you call follow the prompts and I think it's for "other Disney info" (can't remember exact verbiage) but when you get an operator just explain you want to book Paris Disneyland Dining reservations. I was on hold easily 15 minutes waiting for an English speaker, but it was not a big deal. Listened to Mary Poppins! :)

Here's the number again:

407-934-7639

This may be a silly question but what time did you call? Did you call when it was morning/afternoon Paris time or daytime here in the US?

Not silly at all! You are connected overseas so it is important to call when the dining reservation line is open. I think I called around 11am EST so that would be 5pm their time.

I booked all my dining reservations when I arrived with my hotel concierge. I was able to book Chez Remy twice - but I was a part of one. I like the buffets - Plaza Gardens, Restaurant de Stars, Agrabah - also Bistro Chez Remy and Walt's Cafe were nice.

Great info, thanks. I had called the CA line. I'll try FL tomorrow.

Were you able to get through by calling the WDW number? I'll have to call in a few weeks for my ADRs. I used Skype to book my tickets last months, so it wasn't that expensive, but would prefer "free" to "cheap". :goodvibes

My husband called the US 407 number the other day and yes we got connected to Paris. We never got reservations though. He was on hold on the US line for 15 minutes, then we got connected to Paris and there was a 5 minute wait, and then my husband talked to someone and he transferred my husband to a different department. Then my husband was on hold on that for an hour! My husband didn't have any more time to wait so he hung up before making the reservations. So the 407 number works, you just might have to wait awhile.

Yikes!! :scared1: I waited 15 minutes to get an English speaking dining reservation agent. I'm sorry your husband didn't have the same success. I give him credit for waiting over an hour. I know I wouldn't have lasted that long.

FWIW, I called on a Tuesday afternoon around 11am.

We may try again this weekend. Actually I should have made him try today, as he is home sitting around with a sprained knee!

Wishing you success! :goodvibes Keep us posted.

... and OUCH!! :crutches: Hope his knee feels better.

Thanks! He doesn't like to sit around and relax, so I'm encouraging him to rest and heal. I want him to be in good shape for our trip! (and better just in general)
