Is toy story midway mania GREAT? I'm trying to decide if we really want to try for FP or just go on it if line isn't to bad. Youngest is 16. Is it really that different from buzz?

its completely different.
i am not even a big fan of toy story in general.
i hate buzz lightyear's space ranger spin but i love TSM!
its the most popular ride at HS so i would not just see if the line isn't "too bad".
i'd get a FP+ if you want to do it and with little to no wait.
you can always find a youtube video of it to see how its nothing like buzz.

Try to get a FP for Toy Strory if you can. Actually as long as the wait can be it might be worth it if you can,t get a FP. As far as how much better Toy Story is than Buzz. After you go on Toy Story you might like me think Buzz is one of the worst rides you have ever been on. I love most Disney rides but can,t stand Buzz I think because of how non functional it is.

Thanks everybody! Ok…I got TSMM, TOT and StarTours. There were tons of choices open for TSMM we are going to do that one of our first rides. The one thing about FP+ is it really gets me more excited for my trip!! Tomorrow is my last FP+ day and it is for AK.

Toy Story Midway Mania is a carnival esque serious of games using a cannon to fire digital ammo at targets - the targets are projected on a 3d screen using 3d glasses to make the animations come alive.
Buzz Space Ranger Spin is a shooter game using lazer pen style cannons to shoot real life targets and moving aliens.
while simialr both rides are awesome but for me Midway Mania is more modern and more kids will probably gravitate towards this ride.

you will defo need a fast pass for Midway Mania unless you want to join the ropedrop guys who tend to run there first as the park opens **sorry not run, walk behind a cast member holding a rope, if they do that still im unsure**

Buzz i usually do stand by line it never gets too crazy i dont think. if you go on a late night magic hour if you get the oppertunity its better and quiter IMHO

Have fun OP

TSMM is a fun ride. But the big hoopla is about the fact that there are so few rides in DHS. The same ride is at DCA and lines generally stay under an hour because there are plenty of other family rides in that park.

That said, you are unlikely to find a short line without FP, so if you plan to ride it at all, it would be best to use your FP there.

It's best to choose your FPs with consideration to how much time they save you in line as opposed to how great the attraction is.

I like Buzz its a fun ride and always something i will happily go on

Midway Mania i think is amazing. Love playing it even tho my arm starts to ache right at the end .

Back in the olden days of fast pass minus TSMM would round out of fast passes for the entire day by 11:00. You can often walk onto Buzz Lightyear with only a 20 minute wait. That should tell you just how popular (and fun for all) TSMM is.

Yes, partly.

But it also tells you how many more attractions are available in the MK vs. DHS.

It's supply, not demand! :)

I rode this for the first time last August with my 5 year old DS. I thought it was going to be more like Buzz and I had no idea that it was going to spin. We had so much fun! I could not stop laughing! Enjoy!

TSM is much different than Buzz. If you can, I would get a fastpass because the standby line can take a really long time. Although everyone should go in the queue line at some point because it is so cute to look at.

I love both rides but TSMWM is superior. Its harder to see where you're shooting in Buzz but Toy Story its super clear. Also there's different kind of shooting, like darts and ring toss versus just lasers. I know some people like the Queue because of potato head but the last time I did this without a fastpass I wanted to get off line- it was almost unbearable. It moves slowly and for me it seems claustrophobic especially in the stairway section after you get your classes.
