So what bothers you at WDW that may not bother anyone else???

Something that bothers me that probably does not bother a lot of people.....They keep taking smoking sections away.

They take them away? Let me see if I can remember: Isn't the smoking session to the right of the Castle, moving towards the back? The reason why I'm trying to remember is because we ALWAYS find ourselves having to rush through the smoking section, holding our breath and everyone looking mean at me for leading them there!:scared:

(But you may be right. I don't know of any smoking sections anywhere except at MK. Or maybe I'm just good at staying clear if it.:smooth:)

It's not there anymore. They took it away! LOL I'm sure you will be happy of that and frankly I don't blame you. That really was a bad spot. I don't have a problem with them "MOVING" them. But, they once again did not move it...they took it away. There was also one near the Plaza Restaurant, near the bathrooms. On the steps that lead down to the tables with the umbrellas. That area has now been filled in and did they put in another smoking section or even move it? Nope. It happens all of the time. There used to be one next to the Chapeau tucked around the corner...gone. One by the bathrooms near Space Mountain...that one they moved...twice. lol Animal Kingdom, as huge as that place is, has 2 smoking sections inside the park now. Two, that's it. They closed the ones in Rafiki's Planet Watch, the one that was off the beaten path between Africa and Asia and the one by Expedition Everest. Hollywood Studios closed the one at the end of TOT that was tucked into the side, the one that was near Star Tours, the one near Lights Motors Action (the map on-line still has it listed but, it was not on the park map in December) and the one next to The Brown Derby. Epcot seems to be the only one that they have left alone for a while. They are pushing smokers out slowly but surely. Unfortunately for them, they will be pushing $'s out the door with us.

No, what will happen is what already happens. People will just smoke wherever and whenever they please. I unfortunately got to see/smell more than one guest smoking around the parks a couple of weeks ago. I don't smoke, and I think it is ridiculous how hard they are making on people who smoke and would be considerate enough to use the DSAs.

Wow! So they are slowing moving you all out! OK, so here I go::offtopic: Do you think that most smokers nowadays would want to quit? Or do you think that there are many smokers who just loves the taste so much that they think it's a basic human right to smoke as an adult?

Ok, back on topic: I can see that as being a pet peeve. To the non-smokers, they will just place this particular portion of the thread onto the "What do you LOVE about WDW that others may not" thread.:car:

Seriously though, I understand how that can be a pain...

Flash photography on dark rides. So help me, I will tell you to turn the flash off. Maybe only once or twice (because who wants to listen to 5 minutes of "TURN OFF YOUR FLASH" every time a flash goes off?) but you can bet your bottom dollar if you don't shut the flash off I'm stewing inside.

Honestly, I do not think that most smokers want to quit. Do we know we "need" to quit, yes. That is a whole other story though. It's like an overweight person who knows that even though they are at Disney they should not eat that Dole Whip. They eat the Dole Whip. That's just the way we humans are. LOL And yes, I do think a lot of smokers think it is our right to smoke as an adult. Just as it is our right to drink if we are over 21. I don't know that "right" would be correct though. It's probably more like our "choice" that as adult we should be able to do what we wish within the law.

Another pet peeve is people who are insultingly certain that they are right who, I guarantee, won't admit they were wrong even when faced with photographic proof. The good news is that people like you are easy to spot -- proper planning can ensure not only that there is no direct interaction, but that normal people don't even end up sitting next to people like you where they might be forced to listen to you.

Not even sure what your point is to my reply. I'm simply stating a fact. 25 plus years that I have been going, I never been turned away from an empty table without food in my hand. And people like me are amazing to be around. But you can be the juiciest peach around and people are still going to hate peaches.

I am not an annual pass holder, but it did happen twice our last vacation third week of June 2013. Once at AK Restaurantosaurus and once at MK Pecos Bill. We were there for 13 days and it surprised us as these were the only 2 times we saw it. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
That's why I said every day has it circumstances. I guess you forgot to read that part.

I don't know why you have to keep on "laughing" at people who don't agree with you. It's really quite dismissive and contemptuous.

Photographic evidence. Cosmic Ray's, December 24th, 2010. People waiting in line to be seated.

CM seating people WITH food. Look at all the empty tables! On Christmas Eve no less!

I would never eat there. It's yucky. But if it was that full I would never go in there in the first place. Planning needs to be done better by those who think they deserve a table. It's first come first serve at those cattle calls.

Uh, no. You did not simply "state a fact" about your own experience. You made a definitive blanket statement about everyone's experience and then you told another poster that they have never even been to WDW. Let's take a look at that one again:

Disney does not block people from getting a table. This is hilarious. You my dear are funny.

You have never been to Disney.

My point is that people like you, whose likelihood of being wrong and saying something stupid increases when they feel more certain they are right, never apologize for things like that. Generally they pretend that they never said it and then they say some variation of "I'm just keeping it real, haters gonna hate."

You can be the juiciest peach around and still be rotting from the inside out.

No, I read that part. I also read in an earlier post that you accused someone who said they saw it of not ever being to Disney. I wasn't trying to be ugly to you, I was just pointing out that some things happen without our knowledge. It is unfair to put out an accusation to someone that they don't know what they are talking about. I am sorry if I offended or upset you, I was not meaning it that way.

So because it hasn't happened to you, that means it doesn't happen??????:scratchin:scratchin:scratchin

Btw, I've been to WDW 16 times now, and guess what? I have been there when they won't let you sit without food. As the pictures show, it does happen. Whether you personally have experienced it or not.

Smart phones at the dinner table....come on folks talk to each other before humanity looses the ability. If you are at Disney with a group you have real friends and family...savoir this time together.

I really did't think much of it at the time, but DD and I were at Pinocchio's and were carrying our trays and a CM waved us over to a reserved section. Hey I just thought we were stylin' that day.princess:

OK, I got another one!!!

It doesn't really bother me, but it does kinda makes me a little sad: When you see and connect, albeit passively, with a family. Then as you look around, you notice that their vacation is over and they went home. To me, when you first start out on the bus going to a park, you are all wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. And you are cracking jokes on the bus and having fun with people. And you tend to see some of the same people at the resort or on the buses. You have that small talk and you wave.

Then after a while, you notice that you don't see those people anymore. And by the end of your trip, you notice that no one looks familiar anymore. And you have a whole new crew of people at the resorts and buses. Then you know that it's time to go.:sad1: And you also become 'That Guy' on the bus.

You know 'That Guy': When on that first day riding the bus, you crack a funny joke and everyone laughs. And 'That Guy' laughs too, but not as much as everyone else. They have that knowing smile when they look at you. And they are hugging their children a little tighter than everyone else and whispering in their kids' ears, like they are trying to get them to remember and cherish this one particular moment. And when you ask 'That Guy' how long they will be at WDW, they always say "It's their last day", or "We leave tomorrow morning." :charac2:

Yeah, when it's time to go, I become 'That Guy.' I look sentimental in my face. I talk to the kids like "Remember when we...?" Or we just smile knowingly at people as they come on all wide-eyed and bushy-tailed.

Awe....yeah, I can see this happening. I'm sure I could be that guy too!

... Chubby princesses - I know it's not politically correct to say this but when I'm paying hundreds of dollars for a meal at CRT, I don't necessarily expect Miss Universe dressed up as Sleeping Beauty but I do expect the person playing the character to be relatively thin and attractive. Along these lines, it seems that at the prices Disney charges they could open up the pocketbook and pay face characters more, thereby opening the competition to play those characters.

Ouch. While I admit that sometimes the look can be a bit "off", I would never say any of the women were unattractive. And as far as "Chubby" Princesses - I've met more than my fair share of princesses and can't say that I've ever been distracted by or taken notice of their weight. Besides, aren't there height/weight requirements that have to be met in order to even be CONSIDERED for those roles?

I know you're entitled your disappointments but this just bothered me.

The current term for more rounded figures....is "curvy". Obviously everyone has different preferences for attractiveness....but I think anyone would be offended if you said or thought, or conveyed in some manner.... "you are too fat to be a princess.! What message would that send to children?
