Park and Fly opinion for Buffalo

We usually stay at Sleep Inn (last 7 or 8 trips to Disney) for the night before an early flight out of Buffalo. We also park our car here with a park and fly rate. We are northeast of Toronto and have about a 4 - 4.5 hour drive to Buffalo Airport (long drive but flights so much cheaper out of Buffalo than Toronto).
Today I found a rate at the Days Hotel Buffalo Airport (across the street from airport) that is tough to pass up. It was $33 down now, then $99 on arrival. So $132 USD approximately for 1 night sleep and 17 nights of parking. I think that this is a good price - better than we were able to get at Sleep Inn for park and fly. Just to park in long term or even economy parking at the airport would cost us $100 USD, but our flight is 8:00am, so we need a hotel room the night before.

I'm looking for anyone who has stayed at the Days Hotel Buffalo Airport. I've read reviews and they are fine/fairly positive. Just wondering if any Canadian Disers have opinions of the cleanliness, convenience, value, shuttle reliability, breakfast here ... We love Sleep Inn and are reluctant to change, but it's about $50 USD cheaper at Days.

Thanks for any opinions.

We stayed at Days. It's nothing fancy but did the trick. Rooms could use updating but were clean. Shuttle was very quick and staff were great.

We always stay at Days. It's clean, breakfast is great and the shuttle service is awesome! We're booked for 19 days in August. Your price is comparable to mine (less I think). Is your $33 refundable? We have no money down and can cancel up to 6pm. on arrival day.

If you go to duty free.ca it is $89 + tax sun to Thurs and a $109 fri/sat I book it through them all the time. I agree with the above, nothing fancy but it works.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. Sounds like it will fit the bill- nothing fancy but clean and affordable with good shuttle service. I will look at dutyfree.ca Thanks again!

Yes, the $33 is refundable (I booked the same way for Sleep Inn and cancelled today with a full refund), so if I find a better rate, I will be able to cancel and re-book. It's the parking for 17 days (rather than 14 or less) that's bringing up the park and fly hotel prices. Thanks for the PM- I will look into other rates. Glad to hear that you have been happy at Days.

I thought I had read somewhere that with the Sleep Inn, you park at the actual airport (perhaps via a voucher?). But I can't find where I read that, and I'd like to confirm. Does anyone know if that is the case?

We stayed at the Days a few years back. I would agree with the other posters that it could use an update but it did the job. What really amazed me is we came home late and found our minivan had a flat tire (it had been having issues) The lady at the front desk called upon a gentleman who worked at the nearby garage to come and help us out. It was truly amazing the customer service that happened. It was tough with three young kids but they stepped in and got us on our way safely.

We've stayed there multiple times (as recently as 2 weeks ago) and have no issues. Nothing exciting, but clean and quiet. Perfect for 1 night. Oh, and the shuttle back was so quick! We got our luggage, called them as instructed, and the shuttle was waiting for us just minutes later.

We've stayed here many times. It's terrific, just more expensive than Days Hotel Park and Fly (includes 14 days parking and we needed 17 days parking, so Sleep Inn $50 USD more expensive, so likely $63 Canadian - quite a bit of $ for one night). At Sleep Inn they have you park in Economy Lot (behind the Sleep Inn hotel, which is airport parking, but the least expensive airport parking). A couple of times they've let us park in their hotel parking lot, but only when they were not too busy.

Much appreciated; thanks for your reply!

We stayed at the Days last year and as the others have said it's OK for a night. One thing that was an issue for me was that they wanted us to leave the car keys with them...in case they needed to move the car. I knew that some places take your keys so I called before hand and asked...was told no, I could keep them. When we checked in they wanted the keys. I told them it was a deal breaker and I would leave. They called the parking guy and he had a spot against the fence so we could keep the keys.

Just be aware that they might want your keys. I know there was a thread discussing this last year and several people said they had to leave the keys while several others did not.

I booked last year via the duty free and there was supposed to be 8 days parking included (it's since changed to 14) but they charged us an extra $10 for an additional day of parking which they should not have but I didn't notice until we were already at the airport.

Overall, if I can book the Days incl parking for the duty free $89 deal....I would. However, I would not pay more than that to stay there.

Yes the key thing, last July wanted our keys, in Dec didn't ask!! The last twice we have stayed there we booked it through duty free on my visa/debit card then we put it on our MasterCard when we checked in but darn it. It always goes through both of them and it takes like 10 days to reverse it.

I remember that discussion. We have never been asked for our keys, but I asked about it upon checkin last summer. The manager told me at the time that while they might ask for your keys from time to time, depending on their parking situation, they want your business more, so if you are not comfortable leaving your keys, they would find you a spot to park, where leaving your keys are not necessary.

Thanks for that information. Good to know for August :thumbsup2

For me, that's the right response from a business. I want to give my business to a place that wants me there and will work with me to make me comfortable. That scores and extra point with me for the Days.

Let's just hope the same manager is on duty the day we all check in.

I would highly recommend Staybridge Suites booked through third party company Trinity Reservations. We have stayed with them at least 20 times and always been very happy! Large suite, breakfast included (they even pack you a sack bfast if you have an early flight.) large, reliable vehicle with lots of luggage room. No have seen many flight crews staying here which says a lot to me. 1 added bonus is that the Olive Garden is right across the street! can normally get a room with 14 nights of parking for under $140 and often less than that!

We have booked the Clarion, haven't seen anyone mention it in the posts but with them you get up to 30 days parking. I think we are paying $119 for one night with parking.
