Monorail down Tuesdays and Wednesdays from TTTC?

I read online on allures.net that the monorail from the TTTC and MK will be down between 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It says that it is the express rail that is affected. Can anyone clarify?

We have dinner reservations and have a toddler with us that could effect us using some of the parks that day if we were going to rely on that type of transportation.

Thanks!

They are doing right-of-way and beam maintenance on one of the two lines that goes from the MK to the TTC that requires them to not run monorails on it. This is the monorail that runs express from the TTC to the MK, the one which makes all stops (it stops at the resorts) will still be running during that time, and only takes a few extra minutes.

It shouldn't impact getting to/from either the MK or the other resorts. From TTC you can just take the ferry or the local monorail to get to the MK. During busy periods I wouldn't be surprised if the argument this with busses. Of course, if you are staying at a Disney Resort you would just take the bus directly from your resort to the MK.

If you are at the MK and want to get to one of the Monorail resorts, the local monorail or the watercraft will serve you well.

The Tuesday-Wednesday service reduction ended next week.

Starting next week and into July, there is a whole new set of monorail service reductions:
  • Sundays:
    • Resort Monorail hours reduced to 7am to midnight
    • Express Monorail hours reduced to 8:30am to 11:30pm
  • Mondays, Tuesdays, & Wednedays:
    • Resort Monorail hours reduced to 8:30am to midnight
    • Express Monorail hours reduced to 9:30am to 11:30pm (midnight on Wednesdays)
    • Epcot Monorail hours reduced to 9am to 11pm
  • Thursdays & Fridays:
    • Express Monorail closed from 11:30am to 6pm
    • Resort & Epcot beams operating normal hours
  • Saturdays: Full service
  • Full service over Memorial Day weekend, 5/24-5/27
The Monday-Wednesday reductions would seem to have the most impact, since they will affect Guests traveling to both the parks and resorts early and late. I would expect the ferry boats and buses to handle Guests who would otherwise be on the monorails in the early morning and late night, but I don't have any specifics.

Thank you for this information. I am not going until October - Columbus Day weekend.
1. Would they run full service over Columbus Day weekend?
2. How do I find the latest updates on monorail service?

There's no telling what, if any, monorail service changes there might be in October. The current changes were announced internally with just 1 week's notice.

I am not aware of any place that Disney publishes this type of info to the general public. Sometimes flyers are placed in the rooms of the monorail resorts.
