October 2015 Discount Code Watch

I need to add an extra night, we have FD booked. Should I go ahead and book it now and change later it should a discount come out or just wait for a discount? This will be for Oct. 24th.

Go ahead and book if you're definitely set on one particular resort and would stay even without a discount. If your open to several different resorts, depending on what fall discount is offered, then wait.

I got a free dining or Room Only discount email, no code. The free dining has dates in October, but only applies to Canadian residents.

Wondering if they see that we've already booked for November and nit send us a pin although never got one before that anyway *sigh*

I wonder that also. I'm a Disney visa cardholder, have signed up for any and all Disney emails, have ordered the vacation and cruise DVD's, keep a resort reservation in my online basket on Disney's website and I still have never gotten any type of PIN or offer from Disney. I've read that some people are getting 2 or 3 a year, not sure what I'm doing wrong, LOL. Unsure how Disney picks how the PIN codes are distributed but maybe since I'm already booked for Oct, we were passed over. :confused3

I too have done all these things and I didn't get a PIN. I Am also booked already so I am starting to think that's why.

Hmmm so why do I did I maybe get a summer pin and no Fall ones so far?
My guess is that in the summer I'm less likely to go south cause the East coast beaches are great in the summer and I'm most likely to vacation (Hypothetically) here instead of traveling to WDW where the temps and humidity are even more challenging.

Fall and Winter are most likely when I would want to escape the winter, which this winter was enough of a motivation than a UOC.
BUT I still want to save some money so that I can consider an AP and two trips a year. Well one (or two) would potentially be a "long weekend" and not a full week but these are all gee I wonder moments cause I think someone from New England did say after they booked FD they also got a UOC.

Disney Visa card holder wishing they would over me the RO through them. LOL
Wishing for everything and anything.
I just keep telling myself I have my flights so I'm going it won't matter.

For anyone looking there is an October 25-Nov 1st free dining room at coronado available on the website. Around 3200.00

Just called to see if I or my sister had a pin code for October and to check on RO discounts nothing yet, she said to check back end of May and watch for email or mail

I just got a pin-code that I could apply to my existing booking in early October. That was a pleasant surprise.

I'm waiting and watching too.

Yes indeed a pleasant surprise. I want one! I want to stop obsessing about if I'm getting RO or not. Now if FD comes out my husband might go bonkers cause he really wanted FD but we were not willing to switch resorts choice. At this point I'll take either just to get it over with.

DUmb question - if you already booked something with free dining and then get a fall pin code for free dining, does that mean I could book rooms at the regular package price and then add fd? Or do you have to do non-discounted rooms?

As far as I know, free dining always only applies to rack rate rooms.

Planning on going Columbus day week, so I am probably out of luck. We were thinking about an off site villa anyway, but for the right discounts I would consider on property!

Last Year I think the Free Dining Pin was released May 9th. Called today and no Free dining PIN for me for October but the CM said she had not seen any PINS yet (US) so hope is not lost.

On another note, just an experience I have had with a couple CM's. Most of the CM's I get are beyond nice and helpful. But a few have been underhanded. I am aware that I have a 2 offers for % off the room Unique Offer Codes and almost every CM tells me this right away after verifying information. I have had 2 CM's ( I can tell right away that they are going to do this because they start with a hard sell routine) that when I asked if they could kindly check if I have a Free Dining Unique Offer Code they look and verify my information and they they say I have no offers attached to my name and then try to book me a regular rate. When I Explain that I know I have the % off the room offers they magically see them. I did not get angry at all but when I wait for the survey I can hear them waiting for me to hang up and when I do not they disconnect me so that I do not get a survey.

Honestly I have been checking often for the last week and a half and like I said most of the CM's are so kind and encourage me that it may still come out and to check back as often as I like. I do not blame them for trying to book me something and many have... but they have been honest about the offers I currently have.

Keeping hope for the Dining Offer for our dates.

Thanks - I was just able to modify my res from value to mod with free dining and it was minimal (about $120 more) so I am finally DONE - got the hotel we want and no longer need to be stalking the WDW site or my emails for UOC/pins.

I don't understand, why would they not give you your code? It's not like they can pocket the difference. And I can't see how they would work on commission. (Although, one did successfully upsell me to club level. Hmmm.....)

Interesting about the disconnecting you. I wonder if there is a way to direct call to the survey line in some way and note the CM you were not happy with. hmmm
